Grade 10 Results: Centums and 99s Rise

This year’s results stand out for the significant increase in both the number of centums across subjects and the number of students achieving them, indicating not just high performance, but deeper academic mastery across disciplines.

Tamil recorded 7 centums, while Social Science and Artificial Intelligence saw multiple students achieving perfect scores, with Artificial Intelligence witnessing a particularly strong surge. This growth compared to the previous academic year reflects enhanced subject proficiency and a focused academic approach.

The highest marks recorded in other subjects include 99 in English, Mathematics, and Science, reinforcing the academic depth and consistency demonstrated by students across disciplines.

Ramagya School class 10th toppers and overall class 10th results for the school

Manika Datt Sati leads with 99.6% (498/500) and emerges as the Branch Topper. She is followed by Navya Jain with 98.8% and Dhanya Narayanan with 98.4%. The results come after consistent preparation through the academic year. Students have shown clarity in their subjects and steady progress.

This year’s exam pattern had more application-based questions. Students handled it well and were able to apply what they had studied in most subjects. Teachers continued with revision classes, doubt-clearing sessions and practice tests in the weeks leading up to the exams. Students followed a structured routine, which helped them stay consistent rather than relying on last-minute preparation.

For many students, these results come at a stage when they are beginning to think about their next academic stream and future direction. At this stage, many students begin thinking about their next academic stream. Choices become more defined, and students start looking at subjects based on what they are comfortable with. The school has been guiding them through counselling sessions and regular discussions so that they can look at different options and decide accordingly. These discussions have continued over time and not just as a one-time exercise.

The parents equally stayed involved during the year, especially in the months before the examinations. Many kept track of their children’s preparation and progress. Anand Kumar inspires students at Galgotias University, emphasising persistence as a path to success
 

Shri Anand Kumar delivered an inspiring talk to students across programmes, focusing on persistence and the ability to work through difficulties. Drawing from his work with Super 30, he spoke about the importance of working through a concept, returning to fundamentals, and allowing ideas the time and efforts they need to fructify. He shared four mantras with students to help them succeed, a strong sense of intent and the drive to make a difference, maintaining a positive outlook in any situation, tireless effort and hard work, and the patience to stay the course, with an emphasis on sustained effort and inner drive even when progress feels slow.
 

He also spoke about phases of difficulty in his own journey, sharing that when one begins to do well, there can be detractors who question intent or attempt to damage reputation. He recalled a time when negative media coverage and legal challenges left him uncertain about continuing. During that phase, he turned to his mentor with the intention of stepping away from his work with Super 30. His mentor asked him a simple question, whether he was working for fame or for the students whose lives he was trying to change. That question helped him return to the core purpose of his work. He continued with renewed focus, allowing time and effort to speak for themselves.
 

The interaction then moved into a discussion with student representatives, bringing the conversation closer to concerns around career choices, academic pressure, and the constant pull of comparison.
 

The emphasis remained on staying motivated over longer periods, committing to a direction, and allowing clarity to build gradually through sustained work. Students were encouraged to remain patient with themselves and to not lose focus even in the face of adversities.

Hon'ble AP CM Shri N Chandrababu Naidu unveils India’s 1st Quantum Reference Facility at SRM University-AP with Pro-Chancellor Dr P Sathyanarayanan and VC Prof. Ch Satish Kumar

The event was graced by government officials, Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Secretary to Govt of India, Department of Science & Technology; Shri Bhaskar Katamneni, IAS, Secretary, Information Technology, Govt of Andhra Pradesh; Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood,  Principal Scientific Adviser to the Govt of India (online); guests including Scientists from DRDO, DYSL, Director General, NHTL, DRDO, Directors and Scientists from IIT Tirupati, IIT Madras, TIFR  and Founders of Dimira, Qubitec, Qbit Force, Qute Electronics and SRM University-AP leadership, Pro-Chancellor, Dr P Sathyanarayanan and Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ch Satish Kumar.

Shri C V Sridhar, Mission Director, AP State Quantum Mission, delivered the welcome address, underlining the significance and impact of this landmark achievement of building India’s very first Quantum Reference Facilities on Amaravati soil. “From a vision to reality, these indigenous QRFs are a launchpad that will drive India to be one of the top five global hubs for quantum research”, said Mr Sridhar.

In his inaugural address, Hon’ble CM Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu proclaimed, “Quantum is not any other Technology. It is the mother of all frontier technologies. Quantum will define the future of computing. India has always had the talent and ambition—but lacked access to real quantum hardware. With the Amaravati Quantum Reference Facility, that gap is now decisively bridged.”

He stated that this was the first time a quantum system in India has been built using a predominantly domestic supply chain, reflecting the national capability. “This marks the shift from dependency to self-reliance, from participation to leadership, laying the foundation for a stronger deep-tech ecosystem," said Hon’ble CM. He remarked that we as a nation are on the right path to achieve technological sovereignty.

The Hon’ble CM also appreciated the seven participating organisations - TIFR, IISc, DRDO DYSL Pune, Amber Enterprises, Qute Electronics, Dimira, QUTE Electronics, for developing and integrating the Quantum Systems.  He also appreciated SRM University-AP for its proactive spirit, which reflects the role universities must play in driving progress.

This ambitious initiative has been realised in under eight months from conceptualisation to commissioning, and the facility is a fully instrumented hardware testbed enabling real-time validation, benchmarking, and certification of quantum technologies under operational conditions, and can test up to 100 Qubit quantum processes.

The facility is developed in partnership with seven organisations as part of the Amaravati Quantum Valley Project, establishing a broader dual-system architecture, Amaravati 1S at SRM University-AP and Amaravati 1Q at Medha Towers.

Prof. Abhay Karandikar noted that Amaravati Quantum Valley is designed to transform Andhra Pradesh into a global hub for talent and high-end research through its deep-tech startup ecosystem. He described the QRF not merely as infrastructure, but as the backbone of a framework that will position India as a true leader in Quantum Technologies — adding that today's achievement sends a clear message: India is not just participating in the Quantum Mission, but is ready to shape it.

Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood appreciated the action-oriented approach of the Andhra Pradesh government in shaping the various elements that laid the foundation for the Quantum framework and pillars for self-reliance in quantum technologies. He further commented that Quantum Technology will offer transformative solutions in various domains such as Drug Discovery, Healthcare, Cryptography, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Optimisation Problems, Quantum Radar and Sensing, among others.

Dr L Venkata Subramaniam, Founder, Qbit Force, applauded the clear and decisive leadership that culminated in the Quantum Reality, from being a vision to now a system and later would become an industry.

Shri Prudhvi Pinnaka, Founder, Qubitec, emphasised the importance of Quantum Reference Facilities as not just technological infrastructure, but also an initiation of an ecosystem where research is translated to a real product.

Prof. V Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras and Prof. K. Satyanarayana, Director, IIT Tirupati, remarked that Amaravati Quantum Valley is positioning Andhra Pradesh and India at the forefront of emerging technologies by integrating advanced infrastructure with skilled talent, backed by mentorship, guidance, and enabling policy support.

The Education Gap
AI has become central to how businesses function. However, most BBA programmes still focus on theory, frameworks, and examinations, with limited exposure to practical application. This creates a clear disconnect between classroom learning and what companies expect from graduates.

This gap becomes evident when business graduates enter the workforce. Research from McKinsey & Company shows that nearly 60% of organisations struggle to find talent with AI skills. This trend is also reflected in hiring, where only about 55% of graduates meet employability benchmarks, indicating that many candidates are not fully prepared for job roles.

As a result, many business graduates have conceptual clarity but limited ability to work with AI in real business contexts. At the IncluEd Shiksha Samvaad held on April 13, 2026, in New Delhi, that question moved from rhetoric to reality.

Hosted by Sol’s ARC in collaboration with Shikshagraha, Peepul, and Bachpan Manao, the one-day convening brought together over 125 participants from government, education systems, civil society, and schools, with a clear focus: move beyond intent and enable action on inclusive education.

While India’s policy frameworks, from the National Education Policy (NEP) to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, underscore inclusion, the challenge remains deeply operational. Children are often present in classrooms but not meaningfully participating. Gender disparities persist, with 57% of enrolled CWSN being boys and 42% girls, pointing to deeper structural and social barriers.

"When only 12% of CWSN make it from Grade 1 to Grade 12, we are not looking at a dropout crisis — we are looking at a belonging crisis. A Viksit Bharat that counts on its demographic dividend cannot afford to lose entire categories of children before they ever reach their potential. Inclusive classrooms are not a welfare measure; they are the foundation of a truly future-ready India," said Khushboo Awasthi, Co-founder of ShikshaLokam and Weaver of the Shikshagraha movement.

At the heart of the convening was the launch of the Micro Improvement Project and its accompanying Micro Improvement Compendium - a guidebook designed to make inclusion practical, immediate, and scalable. The compendium brings together 50 classroom practices drawn from 11 schools across 6 cities, further informed by work across states such as Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Daman & Diu. From peer buddy systems and visual routines to inclusive school events and home-school communication tools, the practices are designed to be low-cost, adaptable, and implementable within existing classroom realities.

“We believe inclusion is not just about intent, but about ensuring every tool is free, accessible, and within everyone’s reach,” said Sonali Saini, founder of Sol’s ARC.

Released as a digital public good, the guidebook is freely available for educators and systems to adopt and adapt, with the larger goal of embedding inclusion into everyday school practice rather than treating it as a specialised intervention.

“The burden of inclusion should never rest on the child; the responsibility lies with the system to adapt. True inclusion is measured not by how much a learner adjusts, but by how much our pedagogy and institutional design evolve to meet them,” said Kruti Bharucha, Founder & CEO, Peepul. On Peepul’s commitment to creating inclusive learning spaces, she further added, “We are determined to shift classroom practices across the country, ensuring that every learner, regardless of their starting point, has a system that is designed to help them thrive.”

The initiative builds on the growing momentum of the Shikshagraha movement, which has demonstrated how small, localised actions can scale across systems, with over 13.7 lakh micro-improvements initiated, 3.5 lakh leaders driving change, and more than 1.76 lakh schools participating across 12 states and 250 districts. This signals a shift from isolated pilots to ecosystem-driven change.

The Samvaad itself was designed as an immersive, practice-led experience. Participants engaged with interactive workshops, including a sign language session, experience zones showcasing inclusive practices, and panel discussions featuring policymakers, educators, and individuals with lived experience. The emphasis throughout was on making inclusion tangible, actionable, and replicable across contexts.

"Inclusion is simply about every child feeling wanted, heard, and that they belong. A teacher must be a keen observer and a collaborator: asking whether a child can see the board, hear the instruction, and feel that they matter. Inclusion is not only about ramps and toilets; it is about the moment a child looks up and feels seen — because the child who feels they belong today becomes a confident learner tomorrow. That is the true power of the teacher," said Dr. Sharad Sinha, Head, Department of Teacher Education, National Council of Educational Research and Training.

Beyond the event, the Micro Improvement Project will be scaled through state-level workshops, partner networks, and digital platforms, alongside integration with tools like the IncluEd chatbot to provide teachers with contextual, on-demand support. The guidebook will continue to evolve based on classroom feedback, building towards a living repository of inclusive practices.

The discussions also surfaced deeper systemic challenges from gaps between RTE and RPwD provisions to benchmark disability thresholds that leave many children unsupported, and the everyday reality of teachers navigating inclusion without adequate tools or training. Yet, the convening reinforced a central insight: meaningful change does not always require large reforms; it can begin with small, intentional shifts in everyday practice.

"The challenge of building an inclusive, future-ready education system is too complex for any one actor to solve alone. Many organisations are already creating powerful solutions — but often in isolation. Shikshagraha brings these efforts together as a collective force, so we can share, learn, and build beyond what any one of us can do individually. That is how real, systemic change happens — and we are thrilled to have Sol's ARC as a partner in this movement," Awasthi added.

As the event concluded with a collective pledge - “I accept, I involve, I include,” the message was clear: inclusion in education cannot be delivered top-down. It must be owned, practiced, and sustained by the ecosystem.

And sometimes, that shift begins with just one small change.

MAAC, a premier institute and pioneer in high-end 3D animation, VFX, gaming, and digital content creation, and a training brand of Aptech Limited, successfully organized the 7th edition of “100 Hours” – a creative challenge designed to push the boundaries of storytelling, design, and digital filmmaking for students across India.

MAAC students during 100 Hours competition

Building on the growing demand and consumption of digital content creation, MAAC introduced a new category this year Digital Brand Experience — enabling students to explore branding, user experience, and content strategy alongside filmmaking.

The competition was a high-intensity creative marathon where students worked in teams to produce 30-second 3D animated short films and 60-second mobile films and Complete brand experience through Brand Strategy, UI/UX and brand promotion video using AI, all within a span of 100 hours (approximately 4.2 days of continuous creation).

During the event, 750 students across 150 teams received expert mentorship and gained hands-on exposure to the complete production pipeline from pre-production and production to post-production across 3D Animation and digital content creation. The mobile filmmaking category, introduced last year, continued to see strong participation, reflecting the rising popularity of short-form video formats among today’s youth.

The creative challenge witnessed high participation, with students producing a wide range of animated, mobile-shot films and brand campaigns. The structure of the challenge is based on MAAC’s 360 Degree Skills Advantage approach, which puts students’ creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities to the test while evaluating their industry readiness.

Participants experienced real-world work scenarios, managing tight deadlines while leveraging relevant tools, software, and backend support provided by MAAC centres. The challenge offered a studio-like working environment, enabling students to develop practical skills, collaborate effectively, and become industry-ready from day one.

Chandigarh University International Film Festival – 2026 Brings Together Renowned Global Filmmakers, Animation VFX Experts & Gaming Professionals

This year’s edition of the Chandigarh University International Film Festival 2026 (CUIFF’26) will showcase over 383 films including 11 international entries, creating a vibrant space for cultural exchange and global collaboration while celebrating storytelling and creativity and bridging the gap between academia and the film industry. The film festival will showcase diverse cinematic forms and emerging trends, including animation, VFX, and AI-driven filmmaking, offering students and aspiring creators valuable exposure to evolving industry practices.

Organized by Chandigarh University’s University Institute of Films and Visual Arts (UIFVA), the festival has attracted participation from leading institutions and film schools from across the world including Spain, United Kingdom, Australia and India among other nations.

While Subrata Roy, Founder & Managing Director, Hi-Tech Animation Studio was the chief guest, Veerendra K Patil, Founder & Creative Director, Zebu Animation and Shyam Deshpande, Art Director at Krafton India were the guest of honours. Speaking on the occasion, Subrata Roy, Founder & Managing Director, Hi-Tech Animation Studio said, “AI integration is rapidly increasing everywhere. These are things that we may not find in our regular syllabus, so we must learn them ourselves and go beyond conventional. Any art that does not generate economic value is difficult to sustain in the long run. Therefore, before creating any content, one must think about how it can become a source of income. Do not make the mistake of creating content only for passion. We must understand what sellable content is. Technology is continuously advancing, either technology will make you its servant or you will make technology your servant. If technology makes you its servant, then we will become its slaves. But if you make AI your servant, then it will work for us and for you.”

Veerendra K Patil, Founder & Creative Director, Zebu Animation said, “When digital first came in many people said it would not have emotion and today we hear the same arguments about Artificial Intelligence. But we are now at the next step of evolution. You are the generation that will build careers with AI as part of your creative tools. Do not resist it, because learning is learning and knowledge should never be rejected no matter in which form it is coming.”

“Understanding how to play a game does not make you a good game developer or designer. Similarly, being a consumer of stories is not the same as being a storyteller. You must consciously evolve from story listeners to storytellers. Craft improves with time and practice but without a strong foundation in fundamentals whether it is animation, lighting or design you will only grow older not better. And if you don’t understand the fundamentals, it becomes difficult even to communicate effectively with machines or AI. Ask questions there are no stupid questions only missed opportunities to learn. Platforms like film festivals are essential because they create spaces where beginners and experts can interact, exchange ideas and grow together,” added Patil.

He further said, “We often talk about work-life balance but the truth is there is only life balance. As artists, we chose one of the most challenging industries because we chase perfection. For me making an animation film is not work, it is a part of life. Live your life fully, because we are storytellers. If you do not have stories to live, you won’t have stories to tell.”

Shyam Deshpande, Art Director at Krafton India said, “Art is not created in isolation. It thrives on collaboration, feedback and diverse ideas. While personal style matters, one must also adapt to realities like audience expectations, technology and industry demands. At times even when artistic instincts resist, decisions are shaped by larger forces like business and engagement. What we create is ultimately for others and if the audience does not connect there is a gap we must bridge.”

“An artist must learn when to follow the rules and when to let intuition lead. Principles like balance, texture and contrast are important, but they should never overpower the message. Sometimes, it is necessary to set rules aside to allow authenticity to emerge. Art is a continuous journey of refinement and growth comes from the willingness to learn from one’s own mistakes. Every artwork teaches something new and improvement lies in observing deeply seeing the world not just as it is, but as an artist interprets it. Originality is essential and every piece of art must have a clear thought behind it. An artist should always be able to explain why something exists in their work. Without that intent art gets reduced to surface level only,” added Deshpande.

The conclave, themed “Culinary Heritage of Rajasthan & Its Impact on Tourism Economy,” underscored the vital role of traditional cuisine in promoting tourism and driving economic growth. The competition was centered on electric bikes, with participants designing, developing, and testing functional E-Bike prototypes with a strong focus on energy efficiency, innovation, performance, and real-world applicability. Galgotias University campus, Greater Noida. New communication framework initiative launched

The framework, released by the Vice Chancellor K Mallikharjuna Babu outlines communication practices at both departmental and central university levels. It is designed to support clarity in information flow, strengthen alignment across academic and administrative units, and ensure that institutional communication remains structured and reliable across platforms.

As universities today engage with a wide range of academic partners, industry stakeholders and public audiences both on and off campuses, a well-defined public relations and communication system plays an important role in supporting institutional coordination and effective engagement. With this initiative, Galgotias University is reinforcing its commitment to maintaining clarity and coherence in how information is shared within the campus and represented externally.

Alongside the introduction of the framework, the university has also initiated a series of structured engagement sessions for students, faculty members and administrative staff focusing on professional communication practices. These sessions include areas such as participation in high profile external events, media engagement protocols, public speaking, presentation skills, interpersonal communication and responsible participation across institutional and digital platforms.

In his inaugural address, the chief guest and former Chairman of IEI Punjab and Chandigarh State Center, Dr Labh Singh said, "Today, engineering is not just about machines, it is about shaping society, solving real-world problems and creating a sustainable future. India is at a crucial juncture of digital transformation, artificial intelligence and industry 4.0 revolution. And young engineers are at the centre of this change. The Tableau AI Data Lab is designed to provide students with hands-on exposure to advanced analytics, business intelligence, and AI enabled data interpretation. With a strong focus on real world application, the lab will enable learners to move beyond traditional dashboards towards intelligent, insight-driven decision making using next generation Tableau and Salesforce technologies.

The dignitaries who graced the two-day ‘HERizon 1.0’  organised by CU’s University Institute of Engineering in collaboration with IEEE India Council for ‘empowering women through innovation’  Bubbu Tir, writer and former member Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC),  Rasneet Kaur, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) 2025 topper, Prof Prerna Gaur, Chair-IEEE India Council, Director- NSUT, Delhi (virtually),  Prof (Dr) Raviraja N Seetharam, Vice Chancellor,  Chandigarh University and  Pro Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs) Prof (Dr) Raghuveer VR.

Besides Chandigarh University, this flagship women-only fest, was attended by female students selected through over 1000 registrations from 15 Universities in 11 States including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Odisha.  Apart from Chandigarh University, HERizon 1.0 was attended by GNA University, CT University, Rayat Bahra University, Chitkara University, Shoolini University, Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women, Sri Sairam Engineering College and Panipat Institute of Engineering & Technology (PIET). 

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Guest of Honor Babbu Tir, renowned author and former additional Chairperson Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) said, “Today, women are expanding horizons and we live in a world full of sheroes, not heroes. Today, women do not need borrowed wings to fly. Women no longer need to prove themselves; they have already shown the world that they torchbearers of the society and community. They are here to rightfully claim their place under the sky. Education is the most powerful weapon available to those who otherwise have none the ones who wish to leave the world better than they found it. The only way to dispel darkness in today’s world is through education,”

In her address, Rasneet Kaur, who cracked UPSC civil services exam 2025 with all India rank 51 on her very first attempt without any coaching, said, “Women today are excelling in all the fields including sports, technology and leadership roles among others. India is witnessing a silent revolution and in future more women will be coming forward. You should believe in your voice, believe in your ideas and believe in your ability to lead. I believe that most of the limitations are not outside, they are within our minds. So, try to break those barriers. Do not let your background limit the size of your dreams. Because your background doesn't decide your future. Second lesson is consistency matters more than motivation. Because motivation will fade away but it will be the discipline only which will keep you going. Even when no one else does believe in yourself, dreams do come true and they require determination along with discipline. It requires a lot of patience and lot of resilience,”

In her virtual message, Prof Prerna Gaur, Chair IEEE India Council and Director Netaji Subhas University of Technology, Delhi said, “Herizon 1.0 celebrates the strength, creativity and leadership of women providing a platform to showcase ideas, talent and innovation,”

Prof (Dr) Raviraja N Seetharam, VC, Chandigarh University said, “More than 50% of faculty at Chandigarh University are females because merit matters more than the gender when it comes to preference in hiring.  Women are leading in every field from technology, creativity or leadership. . In line with this trend, HERizon 1.0 stands is a milestone initiative that fosters empowerment, encourages participation, and creates opportunities for women to lead, innovate, and excel,” 

With a Rs 2.5 lakh prize pool, HERizon 1.0 featured 11 competitions across 3 major tracks including ‘Technology Track’  which included Hackathons, Ideathons, and research presentations, ‘Creative Arts Track’  which included activities such as painting, design, crafts, and media creation. And ‘Leadership Track’ which included debates, pitching, and interactive activities.

In Hackathon, the first prize won by team ‘Cupcake: The Destroyers’ of Shoolini University (Track 1) and team SHE++ of Chitkara University (Track 2). In Ideathon, the first prize was won by The ideators of CGC Landran.  In poster making, Shweta Tiwari from Chandigarh University won first prize. In creative arts category, team Pixel Bandets from Chandigarh University won first prize. In Mehndi design, Manisha of Chandigarh University won first prize. In T-Shirt Painting, team Artsy Babes of Chandigarh University won first prize.

In Nail Art and Face Painting, all three prizes were won by Chandigarh University. In She Captures category, Sargunjit Kaur of Chandigarh University won first prize and  in on-the-Spot Painting, Needle / Crochet/Best Out of Waste category, the Chic threads of Chandigarh University won first prize.  In Clubs Combined category, the first prize for Influence and Pitch events, the first prize was won by team Malaaj of Chandigarh University. In Fun Activity category, Nandini of Chandigarh University won first prize.

Aparajith Ramnath, Associate Professor, Ahmedabad University awarded the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards 2026

The award recognises Professor Ramnath’s work in illuminating the life and legacy of one of India’s most influential engineers and situating it within the broader historical and social context of nation-building. The jury acknowledged the book for its depth of research and its ability to expand public understanding of India’s institutional and technological history, an area often overlooked in mainstream discourse.

In this biography, Professor Ramnath examines the life and legacy of engineer, administrator, and statesman M. Visvesvaraya, whose enduring influence is reflected in the celebration of his birth anniversary as Engineers’ Day. The book explores how Visvesvaraya rose to prominence through his engineering accomplishments and broader contributions to governance, policy, and nation-building.

Situating his life within a wider historical and social context, the book traces the aptitudes, experiences, and historical contexts that shaped an individual whose influence extended well beyond engineering. It presents a layered understanding of how technical expertise, administrative vision, and historical circumstance converged to shape one of modern India’s most influential figures.

Built on over seven years of meticulous archival research, the book draws on letters, technical papers, newspapers, and institutional records from India and abroad. It shows how M. On the occasion, the chief guest Sanjay Dhingra, Director- Public Sector at Microsoft, said, “Microsoft is really excited to collaborate with Chandigarh University for the Skill Centre where we will be offering AI for All which means Microsoft courses will be offered not only to the B Tech students but across all other programs at the university. Microsoft’s MoU with the Chandigarh University offers collaboration to embed virtual labs into this CoE where the students can come and learn online. These labs will be running Cloud Computing and be running on Microsoft Azure. Microsoft Fundamentals certifications curriculum, teaching materials, advanced role-based curriculum and teaching materials will also become available to CU students under the MoU with Chandigarh University. This Microsoft Skill Centre will work as a hub, and it will initially impart skill training to the Chandigarh University’s engineering students. But in the coming days, students from across the entire university - not just those in Engineering - will be able to gain Microsoft certifications and learn new age skills in emerging technologies through this center under the ‘AI for All’ initiative, making AI for All a reality very soon.”

Galgotias University Hosts 10th Convocation Ceremony

The chief guest for the ceremony was Dr. A. S. Kiran Kumar, Padma Shri awardee and former Chairman of ISRO, with dignitaries Umashankar Pandey a Padma Shri awardee and well-known social activist, Dr. R. G. Agarwal, Chairman Emeritus of Dhanuka Agritech Limited as well as special guests Nagendra Goyal, Joint Commissioner at Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Government of India, and Vinit Goenka attending.

The convocation was significant as it was attended by 6,656 graduating students across the various disciplines within Galgotias University. Chandigarh University Vice Chancellor Raviraja N Seetharam said, “On inaugural day of the ‘Urban Symphony 2026’, the ‘Global Summit: Future Ready India @2047’ brought together global experts to deliberate on resilient urban systems, sustainable infrastructure, heritage-sensitive development and future-oriented planning frameworks. “Under the studio-based research project conducted by students of the University Institute of Architecture at Chandigarh University, a discussion was held on the changing spatial dynamics along the NH-05 and Bharatmala Road (NH205A) corridor during the ‘Round Table Conference’. This round-table concluded with a resolution that a full impact assessment should be part and parcel of any development program to achieve sustainable, inclusive and coordinated urban development. The outcomes of discussions during the ‘Urban Symphony 2026’ would contribute to ongoing policy discussion and inform future planning frameworks for peri-urban development in India,” he added.

During  Urban Symphony 2026, a MoU was signed by Chandigarh University with the Network of People of Construction  (NPC) to bridge the industry academia gap by facilitating industry exposure, internship opportunities, skill development opportunities , mentorship opportunity  in form of expert lectures and workshops for CU students.

Earlier in her keynote address, Namrita Kalsi, Chief Architect, Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Ltd (Gurugram Metro Rail Limited) gave a detailed presentation on the challenges faced by urban planners during projects like Metro Rail. “Metro is no longer a single infrastructure project. It actually becomes a city development project when you are working on the road.  The successful implementation of projects on the roads of the city requires coordination and cooperation with the different city authorities which is an extremely difficult task. So, if you are working on the road, there is a number of utilities like gas pipeline, sewerage line, water line ad most importantly the data cables passing through the road. You have to literally find out who is the owner of each utility, then settle it, make a provision for moving it which is again a very difficult task because they also have the statutory norms which have to be followed. It is outstanding to contribute to improving urban infrastructure for people.”

Dr Karan Avtar Singh, former Chief Secretary, Punjab said, “Since big projects in an area transform the economy in an area but such projects will become viable for the government if a taxation scheme is introduced who come to such an area after five to ten years later. Such people should pay a betterment charge. So this is common in many living systems across the globe. It's called a betterment levy or a betterment charge where a highway or new expressway is built. Everybody along this expressway, especially at the exit points, make huge profits and that land which was Rs 10 lakhs per acre become Rs 10 crore per acre in the 10 years. Those people should pay something to the government and the government should then re-compensate the expenditure incurred in first two years of such a project with interest rate.”

Dr Eliana Cangelli, Professor of Architectural Technology and Environmental Design at Sapienza University of Rome, said, “Cities need to create more inclusive, accessible and resilient urban environment by responding to major challenges of our time like climate change, social and spatial inequalities, housing fragilities. For this reason, urban design cannot be limited to government. In this scenario, the role of architects becomes fundamental. We are called not only to design places, but also to interpret complexity, mediate between different scale and actors, and contribute to forms of transformation that are about spatial but also social. An architect must not act as only a designers of the built environment but also as critical thinkers and agents of change of the cities.”

Prof (Dr) Dorota Kamrowska Zaluska, Department of Urban Design and Regional Planning, Gdansk University of Technology (Poland) said, “AI-based tools are presenting new opportunities for architects by making available large volumes of data for shaping contemporary urban environment. The paradigm thing which we want to achieve is sustainability, resilience, equity. So this is only the tool which can help us to achieve. AI based tools can enable us to respond to the current challenges such as climate change and adaptation and natural disasters. So we can analyse the data really to see what is happening the whole year.”

Dr Shikha Jain Director DRONAH (Development and Research Organization for Nature, Arts, and Heritage) said, “Cities like Jaipur which was designed in the 18th century and Chandigarh which was designed in the in the 1960s as population in these cities has  increased in many times than they were planned for. And one of the most challenging aspect of this is that because of increasing urbanization, we are actually eating up the natural resources which were part of the planning in these historic cities. There is a huge potential of looking at our historic cities, integrating the planning back with the natural resources, some of them are which are being misused because of increasing urbanization, learning from our past and making these cities more sustainable.”

Focused preparation reflects the growing academic pressure faced by students nationwide make this more better

Recent data underscores the scale of the issue. According to findings cited from national-level studies, over 80 per cent of students in India report experiencing exam-related stress and anxiety, reflecting the pervasive psychological pressure embedded within the system.

Further, a nationwide student well-being survey indicates that nearly one in five high school students rarely feels calm, motivated or emotionally secure, pointing to rising levels of disengagement and fatigue.

Ms Vibha Padalkar advised the students that the ability to anticipate, discipline to pause and wisdom to choose deliberately, will stand them in good stead in the long run. “IIMB has honed your decision making skills. So, as you enter a new phase of your lives, remember that you need to run fast when it matters, slow down when it counts and stay in the long race.”

Indian Institute of Management Bangalore hosted its 51st Convocation on 27th March 2026. A total of 785 students from various programmes graduated, this evening. Degrees were awarded to the students of the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme and the MBA programmes – the Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM), Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP), Post Graduate Programme in Business Analytics (PGPBA) and Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP). Students of the Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM) received the Master of Management Studies (Public Policy) degree. One PhD scholar received the award for excellence in research, while gold medals were awarded for Best All Round Performance, First Rank and Second Rank.

“With a vision to elevate undergraduate education in India with the same academic rigour that defines our postgraduate offerings, we introduced two undergraduate offerings: BSc Honors in Economics, and BSc Honors in Data Science.”

While sharing his message, Prof. Dinesh Kumar commended the Institute for its initiatives on sustainability, inclusivity as well as nation building, apart from academics and research. “The Office of Diversity and Inclusion convened important conversations on accessibility and universal design, and student-led efforts play an important role in our outreach.”

“Sustainability remains our key priority. We released our Sustainability Report on World Environment Day and introduced a new core course on Responsible Business and Sustainability. These efforts were accompanied by practical steps toward greener campus operations, including the introduction of an EV fleet on campus, donated by the PGP 1998 batch. “While visa restrictions and global uncertainties are immediate factors, the growing impact of AI on service-led sectors such as IT is also influencing parental decisions. Families are increasingly reassessing long-term financial stability, which is shaping education choices,” she said.

Bharath raises a critical concern on whether India becoming a preferred option by default reflects progress or exposes underlying gaps in perception. “If it takes external disruptions for students to consider staying back, it is important for us to question what that says about our system,” she added.

Highlighting the evolution of India’s higher education landscape, Bharath pointed to the rise of liberal arts institutions such as Ashoka University, O.P. Jindal Global University, Azim Premji University, Krea University and Plaksha University, alongside the expansion of established institutions like Manipal and BITS into multi-campus models. 

However, she emphasised that increasing competition, especially with foreign universities such as University of Bristol, Illinois Institute of Technology, UNSW and University of Liverpool setting up campuses in India under the National Education Policy, will require institutions to significantly strengthen their offerings. “Universities can no longer assume demand. They must focus on strong faculty, meaningful multidisciplinary programmes, and outcomes that are aligned with the future of work,” she said.

Bharath also underscored the need for a broader shift in mindset from a service-led economy to one that nurtures entrepreneurship and job creation. “India must move from being a nation of job seekers to one of job creators. With the rise of the startup ecosystem, young people today are increasingly inspired by founders and builders, and education must reflect that shift,” she noted.

Calling for collective responsibility, Bharath said that the presence of these students in India places an onus on the entire ecosystem. “Universities, employers, counsellors, and all stakeholders must ensure that students see real value and outcomes here. It cannot be reduced to positioning or marketing alone,” she said.

“The students are here. The question is whether we are ready for them,” she added.

Stakeholders unite at North East Shiksha Samvaad to reimagine future-ready education in Nagaland

Held at Tetso College, Chumukidema, the convening, part of the larger Shikshagraha movement, brought together stakeholders from across the ecosystem under the theme “Reimagining Education in the Northeast for a Future-Ready Generation.” The focus was on bridging the gap between policy intent and classroom realities in the region.

Shikshagraha is a people-powered movement that aims to strengthen public education by bringing together stakeholders from across society, government, markets, and media to drive systemic change. At the heart of this movement are the Shiksha Samvaads, quarterly convenings held across different regions of the country that create space for dialogue, reflection, and collaboration on the evolving needs of the public education system. These platforms are designed to move beyond discussion, encouraging participants to share on-ground insights, surface challenges, and collectively identify actionable pathways to improve learning outcomes for all children.

Setting the tone, Kevisato Sanyu, Founder of NagaEd and Director at ELEVATE Foundation, underscored the shared responsibility of shaping education. “We are the architects and designers of what education is,” he said, framing the day’s dialogue around collective ownership and action.

The event opened with a welcome address by Dr. Hewasa L. Khing, Principal of Tetso College, followed by a showcase of the District Empowerment Program (DEP), highlighting early efforts toward system-level transformation in education.

In the keynote address, Dr. Darlando Thamni Khathing, Vice Chancellor of North East Christian University, emphasised the urgency of aligning education with a fast-evolving global landscape.

“Our education system must prepare for the changes that are happening, so that our students are future-ready,” he said, calling for a shift toward adaptability and responsiveness within the system.

A panel discussion on “From Infrastructure to Learning Impact: What Is Changing on the Ground?” brought together voices from Samagra Shiksha, NECTAR, and the school ecosystem, offering a candid look at progress and persistent gaps, and the need to better align policy with implementation.

The second keynote by Dr. Mary N. Odyuo, Associate Professor at Nagaland University, focused on redefining what success in education looks like.

“As we move forward, we must redefine what education success really is. Our education system should support real-world preparedness,” she said, highlighting the importance of nurturing confidence, identity, and aspiration alongside academic learning.

The conversation expanded in a second panel, “It Takes a Village: Building an Ecosystem for Future-Ready Children,” with organisations including Highland Dreamers, Bridges Educational Foundation, Pratham Education Foundation, and the Nagaland Board of School Education emphasising the role of collaboration in driving sustained change.

A cultural interlude by Tetso College’s Dance Club celebrated the region’s heritage, reinforcing the importance of integrating culture within education.

The Samvaad concluded with a recognition segment and a call to sustain momentum beyond the event, positioning the dialogue as part of an ongoing, collective effort to transform education in the Northeast.

The newly certified facility is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and advanced biosafety engineering. It features specialised containment architecture, negative pressure environments with directional airflow, high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filtration systems, secure access controls, and stringent operational protocols. The certification process involved a rigorous and comprehensive evaluation encompassing laboratory design, engineering controls, biosafety management systems, standard operating procedures, personnel training and competency, and emergency preparedness.

MAHE stated, “This advanced facility will empower our researchers to undertake critical studies on airborne and high-risk pathogens and to conduct critical work such as pathogen isolation, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, molecular diagnostics, vaccine and drug development, host–pathogen interaction studies, aerosol transmission research, and evaluation of biosafety protocols. It reinforces MAHE’s commitment to scientific excellence, innovation, and public health, while strengthening India’s biomedical research ecosystem and contributing to global infectious disease preparedness.”

Founded in 2016 to address systemic challenges in how social purpose organisations are led and managed, ISDM was established with a clear intent, to build the theory and practice of management for the social sector, enabling organisations to sustain and scale their impact.

The evening brought together ISDM’s extended community of founders, trustees, alumni, partners, and sector leaders, reflecting on the institution’s journey, its growing influence, and the road ahead.

The programme featured reflections from key stakeholders associated with ISDM’s journey, alongside a special showcase of its milestones, a musical performance by Manzil Mystics, and the premiere of a film capturing the institution’s evolution over the last decade.

A key highlight of the evening was the unveiling of ISDM’s renewed brand identity reflecting both its evolution and its ambition for the future.

Today, ISDM defines its role through a sharper narrative, “Preparing purpose-driven professionals to lead India’s social sector, supported by a rigorous, practice-led discipline of Development Management.”

The new identity is anchored in its mission, “To create leaders for organisations driving India’s social development.”

Since its inception, ISDM has grown into a national platform for leadership development in the social sector, with:

• 475+ alumni working across NGOs, foundations, social enterprises, and policy institutions

Beyond individual programmes, ISDM has played a critical role in advancing Development Management as a distinct discipline, integrating management science, public policy, social theory, and field practice to strengthen how organisations in the sector are led.

MAGSCON 2026 commenced at MAHE Manipal on March 24, 2026, setting the agenda for sustainability and global partnerships

Inaugurating MAGSCON 2026, Dr H S Ballal, Pro Chancellor, MAHE, said, “MAGSCON 2026 reflects MAHE’s enduring commitment to fostering responsible leadership and sustainable development. As institutions of higher learning, we must go beyond knowledge dissemination to actively contribute to solutions that address global challenges and improve the quality of life.”

Delivering a special address, Dr Line Joranger, University of Southeastern Norway, said, “Global challenges demand global collaboration. Platforms like MAGSCON 2026 enable meaningful exchange of ideas and partnerships across borders, empowering institutions to work collectively towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.” 

Presiding over the inaugural ceremony, Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh, VSM (Retd.), Vice Chancellor, MAHE, emphasised, “At MAHE, we believe universities play a pivotal role in shaping a sustainable future. MAGSCON 2026 brings together diverse stakeholders to collaborate, innovate and drive impactful change aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.”

Dr Satish Kumar, President and Executive Director, Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE), and Dr Ananya Mukherjee, Vice Chancellor, Shiv Nadar University, Delhi NCR, graced the inaugural event.  The event organising committee chair, Dr Christopher Sudhakar, Director, Quality, and co-chair, Dr Sandeep S. MAGSCON 2026 has been conceptualised as a global platform to bring together universities, research institutions, industry partners, NGOs, policymakers, and students to collectively accelerate progress on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The conference features plenary talks, panel discussions, master classes, poster presentations, and interactive sessions focused on climate action, sustainable health, innovation, higher education transformation, and global partnerships.

The three-day programme includes thematic panel discussions on Reimagining Higher Education for Inclusive, Future-Ready Learning; Climate Action and Biodiversity; Health and Community Resilience; Youth Leadership and Social Innovation; and Sustainable Technology and AI for People and Planet, among others. The conference also brings together eminent speakers and vice-chancellors from leading institutions across India and international partner universities, reflecting MAHE’s strong global academic engagement.

The conference is also expected to provide a strong platform for knowledge exchange, research collaboration, and visibility for sustainable initiatives undertaken by universities and institutions worldwide. The University of Design, Innovation and Technology (UDIT) has been formally established in Gurugram through an Act of the Haryana State Legislature. Conceived as a university for creators, UDIT brings together design, technology and management within a single, practice-led framework to enable impactful, real-world outcomes.

UDIT builds on the foundation of the Indian Institute of Art & Design (IIAD), founded in 2015, which pioneered studio-based design education in India and demonstrated what becomes possible when learning is built around making.
