5,500+ Placements Signal Strong Industry Confidence in Galgotias University's Career-Ready Graduates

The scale of placement outcomes reflects the confidence that industry leaders place in Galgotias University students and the University's sustained focus on academic excellence, and industry readiness.

Leading organisations recruited Galgotias students in significant numbers during the placement season. Infosys recruited 526 students, Capgemini 228, Cognizant 205, City Union Bank Ltd. 188, LTM 119, Accenture 91, and EY 61, demonstrating the depth and consistency of placement opportunities available across disciplines.

The placement season also recorded several standout achievements. The highest package offered reached INR 60 LPA, while the highest internship opportunity carried a monthly stipend of INR 1.25 lakh. Many students secured offers in the INR 15 LPA to INR 26.6 LPA range from leading national and global organisations. The University also documented over 80 Dream Offers across the Big 4 firms, with students placed at Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and PwC.

The ceremony recognised the student coordinators whose leadership and commitment shaped the placement ecosystem. Working closely with recruiters, the Corporate Resource Centre, and their peers, they established a transparent, efficient, and student-centric process that enabled the scale of outcomes achieved.

RVCE and Axtroid Partner to Bring Advanced Manufacturing and Extended Reality Skills to Future Engineers

The partnership aims to strengthen industry-academia engagement by creating opportunities for students and faculty to work closely with emerging technologies and real-world industrial applications. Speaking to the media during a visit to Bangkok, Professor Rose said economies with deep international trust and stable regional relationships are increasingly well positioned as businesses rethink where they invest, manufacture and expand.

"In a world where global alignments are shifting and supply chains are being redrawn, trust becomes a strategic asset," said Professor Rose. "Thailand has spent decades building strong relationships across Asia and beyond. That foundation becomes more valuable in periods of uncertainty."

A pivotal moment for Thailand
Thailand's current environment is demanding, and the International Monetary Fund's World Economic Outlook (April 2026) projects growth of 1.5 per cent in 2026.

Professor Rose noted that rising energy costs, softer long-haul tourism demand and rapid AI adoption are creating near-term pressure across key sectors of the Thai economy. However, he said periods of disruption often create the conditions for long-term competitive repositioning.

"The economies that emerge stronger are usually the ones that adapt earliest," as Professor Rose. "Leadership capability, agility and the ability to navigate change will determine who captures the next decade of growth."

The comments come as businesses across Southeast Asia accelerate investment in AI, digital transformation and workforce reskilling amid growing global economic fragmentation.

A 2026 Milieu Insight study of 3,000 workers across six Southeast Asian markets including Thailand found that 53 per cent ranked over-dependence on AI as their top concern, ahead of privacy risks and job displacement. This suggests that organisations in Thailand and across the region must do more to guide, not just deploy, new technology.

Building regional leadership capability
Addressing these challenges requires more than a policy response alone. Professor Rose emphasised that both multinationals and SMEs must build their adaptation strategies around talent and leadership development to power Thailand's growth engine.

Ms Usa Skulkerewathana, Senior Lecturer at NUS Business School, said Thai organisations should consider focusing on strengthening talent development and practical AI readiness rather than treating technology as a standalone solution.

"This is not a wait-and-see moment," said Ms Skulkerewathana. "Thai businesses that invest early in leadership, digital capability and workforce resilience will be better positioned to compete regionally and internationally."

Singapore's role as Asia's financial and educational hub offers Thai professionals and organisations a natural gateway to build regional leadership capability. Thai professionals and executives have, for decades, benefitted from NUS Business School's MBA, MSc and executive education programmes, including the Stanford–NUS Executive Programme and other senior leadership initiatives developed with global academic and industry partners. An insightful session with Advocate Gautam Khazanchi, bridging legal theory with real-world criminal litigation for Galgotias University law students

The distinguished lecture examined contemporary issues surrounding criminal justice, liberty, due process, economic offences, and the interpretation of state powers within the Indian legal system. The session brought students into discussion with one of the most debated areas of contemporary criminal law, particularly the judicial balancing of individual liberty with the interests of justice.
 

During the lecture, Advocate Gautam Khazanchi discussed the constitutional foundations governing bail in India and explained how judicial interpretation has evolved through landmark precedents. Referring to courtroom practice and contemporary legal developments, he examined the principles that guide courts while granting or refusing bail in criminal cases.
 

The discussion also examined constitutional safeguards under Article 22 of the Indian Constitution, including protections relating to arrest, detention, legal representation, and procedural rights available to accused persons within the criminal justice system.
 

A major focus of the lecture was the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and the role of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in financial crime investigations. The session explored the stringent “twin conditions” governing bail under the PMLA, recent judicial developments, procedural complexities in financial crime litigation, and the practical challenges faced by defence lawyers while representing clients in such matters.
 

Drawing from professional experience, he also discussed the changing nature of investigation processes, the increasing complexity of economic offences, and the growing importance of constitutional safeguards in cases involving financial and national security-related matters.
 

Students listened with rapt attention throughout the session and actively participated in an engaging question-and-answer discussion on constitutional rights, ED investigations, judicial interpretation, bail jurisprudence, and courtroom strategy.
 

The lecture closely follows the recently concluded International Conference on Comparative Law organised by the School of Law at Galgotias University in collaboration with the School of Business and Law, Edith Cowan University, Australia. From global recognition to venture creation, EDVentures 2026 winners felicitated at Galgotias University as three startups secure funding support

During the felicitation ceremony, the University announced funding support under its INR 10 crore Galgotias Innovation Fund for three student-led startups working across sustainability, agritech, robotics, and inclusive learning technologies. The selected ventures include CarbonSync, founded by Pushkar Singh; Agri Rover, founded by Satyam Kumar; and Project TACTO, founded by Gaurang Pant.

Project TACTO received the AWS Championship Prize at EDVentures 2026 for developing tactile learning systems that improve accessibility and coding education for visually impaired learners. The project emerged as the overall winner of the international competition.

The inaugural championship brought together 522 athletes from 79 countries across multiple Yogasana disciplines and age categories. Organised by Yogasana Bharat in association with World Yogasana and the Indian Olympic Association, the event marked the largest international competitive platform for Yogasana so far.

Galgotias University students made India proud at the World Yogasana Championship 2026 with five Gold Medals across Traditional, Supine, Artistic Pair, and Group events

India finished at the top of the medal tally with 114 medals, including 102 Gold Medals.

Representing India, first-year students from Galgotias University won medals across artistic, traditional, and individual categories.

Ritu Mondal, a first-year BA Economics student, secured Gold Medals in Traditional Individual and Traditional Group categories. Riya, a first-year BA English student, won Gold in the Supine Individual event in the Senior Category. Deepa Lodhi, a first-year BA English student competing in the Junior Category, secured Gold Medals in Artistic Pair and Artistic Group.

The championship featured competitions in traditional yogasana, artistic single, artistic pair, artistic group, rhythmic pair, and specialised flexibility and balance events.

Students learn with live electric mobility systems, battery modules, and industry-grade EV technologies at the Advanced EV Centre by L&T EduTech at Galgotias University

The state-of-the-art facility brings live electric vehicle technologies directly into the academic ecosystem through fully functional electric cars, electric two-wheelers, live battery packs and modules, battery management systems, EV powertrain technologies, charging infrastructure, controllers, motors, diagnostics platforms, and embedded mobility systems. Unlike conventional engineering laboratories that primarily rely on simulation-based learning, the Advanced EV Centre of Excellence allows students to engage hands-on with actual electric mobility platforms and industrial-grade components used across the EV ecosystem. The initiative reflects OHM’s belief that creativity, awareness, and community are essential to human flourishing, and that timeless principles of human connection and inner balance can be meaningfully applied in modern life. By bringing Frequency School's mindfulness and wellness education platform into alignment with OHM's awareness and wellbeing practices, the collaboration creates a living environment for human development that bridges ancient wisdom with modern scientific understanding.
 

At the heart of the partnership is OHM's proprietary digital curriculum, a self-paced educational framework built around universal spirituality, nervous system awareness, systems thinking, conscious technology literacy, and the integration of science and spirit. These globally accessible modules are designed to support clarity, emotional resilience, and self-awareness.
 

The collaboration also includes OHM’s non-invasive frequency-based longevity support, developed under the guidance of biophysics researcher Dr. Jeff Sutherland, PhD, and designed to support nervous system regulation, recovery, and overall wellbeing. The seeds of this collaboration were planted during the filming of Empathy: The Pursuit of Joy – A Hero’s Journey, a documentary project that brought Maejor and Frequency School together on the TCV campus. Dr. Natalie Petouhoff, Executive Producer, and Josh Sikkema, Director, of the film, describe the program as a living embodiment of the film’s central idea — that the greatest gift we can offer one another is to truly see, hear, and acknowledge each other. Grounded in the neuroscience of empathy and joy, the initiative shows how ancient wisdom and modern science come together to expand perspective, unlock possibility, and create more meaningful ways of living, working, and playing together. And they are excited to include the children’s music in the film’s soundbath soundtrack, as the music will not only play a key role in how the stories are told, but this creative hub in Dharamshala enables their talent to be heard globally.
 

While filming a workshop with Maejor on campus, a student shared on camera her dream of creating music, but didn't know where to begin. That moment became the catalyst. The initiative now provides students with computers, DAW software, and hands-on instruction in music creation and recording, while opening a global pathway for their work to be heard as part of the film's worldwide sound bath soundtrack, building confidence, inclusion, and self-expression through healing harmonics.
 

OHM's frameworks are embedded within Frequency School's Impact Initiative, a model that blends mindfulness, wellness, and creativity through the transformative power of sound, establishing music studios and wellness labs for youth in underserved communities to address critical gaps in education and wellness.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Suhas Gopinath, alumnus of RIT and CEO of Global Inc.; M.R. Janakiram, Vice Chairman of Gokula Education Foundation; and M.R. Kodandaram, Director of RIT.
 

Speaking on the occasion, Suhas Gopinath said, “During my college days, I worked on many similar projects. It is gratifying to see such innovation today. It is true that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has impacted the IT industry. However, employees must also understand this reality. Those who do not upgrade their skills face greater risks. Therefore, professionals should focus on skill development, while students should be given greater exposure to practical learning.”
 

Addressing the gathering, M.R. Kodandaram, Director of Gokula Education Foundation, said, “More than 1,700 projects were submitted for consideration in this two-day exhibition. Out of these, 446 projects were selected for display. Through their projects, students have demonstrated how various problems can be addressed with innovative solutions. Each project is unique and distinct. This exhibition serves as an excellent platform for students to showcase their skills and creativity.”
 

One of the major attractions of the exhibition was a Hybrid Bike Project, which operates on principles similar to those of hybrid cars. The project demonstrated how hybrid technology can be adapted for motorcycles. Other projects that drew significant attention included those related to rainwater conservation, AR/VR (Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality), smart grids, and several other emerging technologies.

Dr. M R Jayaram, Chairman and Chancellor of RISM: described the day as “A great day for us. It has taken almost 25 years of dreaming of what has come true today.” He traced his journey of lifelong commitment and experiential learning in higher education that helped to launch a transformative higher education system that brings in the new change of “teaching institutions” to true “learning institutions.”

Why RISM? The Vision Behind the Institution

Dr. Jayaram explained that India’s education sector has lagged industry liberalization since 1990, creating a 40-year gap between industry needs and educational outcomes. RISM was conceived to bridge this chasm through experiential, outcome-based learning embedded with industry from day one.

A defining feature of RISM is its genuine knowledge partnership with the University at Albany (State University of New York), chosen after 18 months of searching. Philosophy and Future Vision

Ramaiah philosophy—“Gnyanam, Vignyanam cha Bhakti Saritam” (Knowledge, Science, and Devotion as a River)—guides its mission. Dr. Jayaram described his role as a “younger brother” learning from global “elder brothers” U Albany to build institutions that serve India.

The institution represents a triad: RISM (the university), Ramaiah Academy Foundation (skill development), and Vyuha Deep Science (Deep Science Translational Research Centre), creating a 360-degree ecosystem from learning to commercialization.

Dr. Havidan Rodríguez, President, University at Albany, State University of New York stated that, “Higher education systems-built decades or centuries ago served an economy that no longer exists; RISM is being built from the ground up to thrive in today’s rapidly changing economy—and to lead it, not just follow it.”

Rodriguez highlighted that RISM’s DNA is infused with industry and global collaboration, ensuring students solve real-world problems in AI, cybersecurity, semiconductors, health equity, and climate change. He concluded with UAlbany’s motto: “Today, like every single day, it is a great day to be a Great Dane,” declaring that “today is a true manifestation of what a truly transformational partnership can do for our countries.”

Together, the two institutions pledged: “Together we are going to build the future—and we are starting today.”

Sri Gurucharan Gollerkeri, Executive Director and Chief Strategy Officer in his strategic address stated that, “RISM will be uniquely focused on STEM and management disciplines, offering rigorous foundational science programs designed to develop transferable technology skills. The institute will emphasize industry-embedded capstone projects that follow the principle “doing is learning,” and will promote translational research that encourages students to apply knowledge for societal benefit.”

He stated, “We must move from being mere teaching institutions to becoming learning institutions—combining knowledge with practice, embedding industry partners, and benchmarking ourselves against global standards, so that ideas move from lab to prototype, prototype to validation, validation to market, and market to societal impact, and in the age of AI, we reinforce what makes us human: curiosity, creativity, judgment, ethics, empathy, and the ability to work across disciplines.”

Prof. Raghunandan, Chairman, Task Force RISM, explaining how RISM will distinguish itself across India’s higher‑education echelons. “RISM will redefine India’s higher education echelons by shifting from credentialing to capability-building. Rooted in deep industry co‑creation and translational research, our programmes merge rigorous fundamentals with continuous, applied engagement—internships, live projects, industry‑sponsored Centres of Excellence, and a three‑year capstone starting in year two. The Mentor Professor model embeds senior industry leaders within the faculty, ensuring curriculum relevance and career‑ready graduates. Manipal University Jaipur celebrates its Establishment Day 2026

The celebration was attended by Dr. Niti Nipun Sharma, President, Manipal University Jaipur; Dr. Karunakar A. Kotegar, Pro-President, MUJ; Dr. Amit Soni, Registrar, MUJ; and Dr. Nitu Bhatnagar, Provost. A fireside conversation between Dr M. R. Three focused panels explored actionable pathways:

• The Future of Engineering Education: Moderated by Prof. Shivakumar Sastry, experts from academia and industry highlighted the need to move beyond siloed curricula to outcome‑driven, systems‑oriented learning. Recommendations included embedded industry capstones, long‑term projects, faculty support for new pedagogy, and student agency in problem selection.

• AI in Higher Education — The Creative Disruptor: Led by Prof. C. Pandu Rangan, and panellists agreed that generative AI commoditises execution while increasing the value of critical thinking, ethics and process‑oriented assessment. Institutions must redesign learning and assessment to cultivate human–AI teaming and higher‑order skills.

• Translational Research & Industry Partnerships: Moderated by Mr Venkatesh Valluri, the discussion showcased case studies where industry collaboration and iterative, society‑engaged research accelerated product development and impact. Panellists urged prioritising translation over patents, and equipping students and faculty to innovate with market orientation.
   

In closing, Prof. B. N. Raghunandan Chairman RISM Task Force synthesised five priorities: systems approaches, social skills, unified multidisciplinary engineering, continuous faculty development, and a focus on translational research.

Details about the Schools and Programmes at RISM

The School of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence will equip students to operate at the forefront of technological change, building strong foundations in programming, algorithms, and data, with applied exposure to machine learning, automation, and human-robot interaction. The School of Aerospace Engineering will offer a rigorous pathway across aeronautical and astronautical domains, covering flight systems, spacecraft design, satellite technologies, and space exploration. The School of Business will focus on developing analytical, managerial, and strategic capabilities for modern enterprises, with industry-sponsored learning centres on campus enabling early, hands-on engagement with real-world business challenges. What differentiates RISM is how these disciplines are brought together within a globally connected, industry-embedded learning ecosystem, anchored in its knowledge partnership with University at Albany. Through year-abroad opportunities, immersive learning formats, and corporate-sponsored Centres of Excellence, students move beyond siloed education to continuously apply cross-disciplinary thinking in the real-world contexts.

The university’s main residential campus is being developed in Bengaluru’s Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) near Devanahalli, placing it in proximity to key industrial and innovation hubs such as the Aerospace Park, Special Economic Zone, Global Financial District and the upcoming Foxconn facility. This location is expected to foster strong industry-academia collaboration, particularly across STEM disciplines. RISM will commence academic operations from a transit campus in Yelahanka in August 2026, with the main campus expected to be fully operational by September 2028.

Dr. M. R. Jayaram, Chairman and Trustee of Gokula Education Foundation (Medical), today announced the inauguration of the Ramaiah Institute of Science and Management (RISM). Speaking at the press conference, Dr. Jayaram said India requires higher-education institutions that prepare students for global knowledge environments rather than rely solely on traditional teaching models.

RISM will be uniquely focused on STEM and management disciplines, offering rigorous foundational science programs designed to develop transferable technology skills. The institute will emphasize industry-embedded capstone projects that follow the principle “doing is learning,” and will promote translational research that encourages students to apply knowledge for societal benefit.

Competing against 19 teams from 10 countries, two student teams from Galgotias University represented India at the international platform and secured recognition for their innovation-led solutions focused on accessibility and immersive learning.

Project TACTO won the Top Prize, the AWS Championship Prize at EDVentures 2026, receiving total prize money and support worth USD 7,000

Only a small percentage of visually impaired students, especially in the Global South, currently have access to inclusive and interactive STEM learning tools, creating a significant accessibility gap in coding and technology education. To address this challenge, the team developed an inclusive learning solution that uses buttons, sensors, and audio feedback to help visually impaired learners understand foundational coding concepts through touch and sensory interaction. The project aims to make coding education more accessible, engaging, and experiential for learners with visual disabilities, contributing towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 focused on quality and inclusive education.

Project TACTO was represented by Gaurang Pant, third-year BTech Computer Science and Engineering student, Class of 2027; Shristi Mandoliya, second-year BTech Computer Science and Engineering with Data Science student, Class of 2028; and Kavya Singh, third-year BBA Financial Investment Analysis student, Class of 2026.

Another student startup, Tekurious Pvt Ltd, was also selected among the global finalists at the competition. The startup presented a virtual reality-based immersive learning platform designed to create more engaging and interactive educational experiences for learners.

Speaking about the achievement, the Founders of Project TACTO said, “Competing with teams from across the world and seeing our idea receive global recognition was an unforgettable experience. We wanted to build something that could make learning more inclusive and accessible for visually impaired learners, and this recognition has strengthened our belief that technology can become a powerful tool for meaningful social impact.”

Mr. Rachit Mathur, entrepreneur and mentor to Project TACTO, said, “What started as mentorship eventually felt like working alongside co-founders. We had debates, disagreements, and long discussions around the business model, pitching, and strategy, but the team’s hard work and belief in their idea stood out throughout the journey. The credit truly goes to them for building a powerful and meaningful innovation.

Over the past six months, we worked on refining their pitch, GTM strategy, founder mindset, and preparation for investor questions. Having spent over 15 years in the startup ecosystem, I tried to bring my experience into the process. When the results were announced, it felt deeply personal and emotional. The fact that Galgotias University fully sponsored the teams’ participation and international travel to Hong Kong also reflects the kind of strong support system and startup culture being built under the leadership of Dr. Dhruv Galgotia.

 Nominations for the 3rd Shikshagraha Awards, instituted by SFPI, are open until July 31, 2026

Shikshagraha, the people-led movement to improve public schools across India, has announced that nominations for the 3rd edition of the Shikshagraha Awards, instituted by The Shibulal Family Philanthropic Initiatives, are now open until July 31, 2026. The awards recognise educators, community leaders, and grassroots changemakers who are reshaping public education from the inside out.

“India's public education system is the single greatest lever we have for an equal society. For too long, the educators doing extraordinary work in the most difficult conditions have gone unrecognised. When we celebrate these leaders, we inspire a thousand more to step forward,” SD Shibulal, Co-founder, Shibulal Family Philanthropic Initiative.

Now in its third year, the awards have already proved that recognition is not symbolic; it is a catalyst. Past winners have used the financial support, credibility, and network that come with the award to scale their work in measurable ways.

In Bihar, Kumari Guddi expanded her work beyond her school to create a community helpdesk, a scholarship fund, and a supply store for girls in neighbouring communities, now supporting 50 to 100 children across multiple schools. 

In Andhra Pradesh, Nellore Subhrahmanyam used the award to fulfil a two-decade-old dream: a mobile science bus that has now reached nearly 50 rural schools, up from 20. His work was featured in the March 2026 edition of Samagra Shiksha, and a documentary team from Pune is set to film his journey. 

In Madhya Pradesh, Muskan Ahirwar grew her community library Kitaabi Masti from 2,000 to 3,500 books and watched children begin showing up on their own, without being pushed.

In Meghalaya, Batskhem Thabah saw media coverage of his award inspire teachers across the state to come forward with their own ideas.

Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC), Jamshedpur, a constituent unit of the prestigious Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University, today celebrated its First Graduation Ceremony at the MTMC Campus in Baridih, Jamshedpur as part of the 33rd Convocation of MAHE, marking a watershed moment in the journey of the college.

The ceremony marked a monumental milestone for the institution as the pioneer batch of 133 MBBS students graduated from the 2020–2021 academic session.

At the ceremony, Dr Sharath K Rao, Vice Chancellor of MAHE, formally conferred the medical degrees on the graduates, who are now poised to contribute significantly to the healthcare ecosystem of the region.

The ceremony was graced among others by the Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand, Shri Santosh Gangwar as the Chief Guest, Shri K. Vijay Kumar, Senior Security Advisor, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, as Guest of honor, Shri Sundara Ramam, Vice President – Corporate Services, Tata Steel, Shri Somnath Das, Group President- Special Projects and Officer on Special Duty to MAHE, and Brig. (Dr) H S Bandhu, Dean of MTMC. Family members and friends of the graduating students attended the ceremony. It was also graced by other senior leadership from MAHE and Tata Steel Limited, senior MTMC administrators, distinguished academicians, faculty members, and invited dignitaries.

Delivering the convocation address, Jharkhand Governor Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar described the convocation as a celebration not only of academic achievement but also of the graduates' future contribution to society. Reflecting on the vision of the institution's founders, he noted that education and healthcare are powerful instruments for social transformation and emphasized the importance of creating a strong foundation for a healthier and more equitable society.

The Governor reminded the graduates that medicine is not merely a profession but a mission of service to humanity. He observed that while advances in artificial intelligence, robotics, and modern healthcare technologies are transforming medical practice, the essence of healthcare remains rooted in empathy, trust, and human connection.

Joining this august moment virtually Shri Irfan Ansari, Hon’ble Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare, Government of Jharkhand, said, “Our job is not limited to providing medical care to our patients. It also extends to advocating for them, earning their trust and to be a safe, serious and humanitarian support system for them in their hour of need. It is your responsibility to reassure your patients that they have a chance at a fulfilling and healthy life once they exit your care.”

Addressing the graduating students, Shri Vijay Kumar urged the young medical professionals to pursue their vocation with passion, integrity, and a lifelong commitment to learning. Emphasizing that healthcare is a collective endeavor, he highlighted the vital role of teamwork among doctors, nurses, paramedics, and support staff in delivering quality patient care.

In his address, Dr Sharath K Rao, Vice Chancellor, MAHE, said, “MTMC has emerged as a strong academic institution with a growing reputation for excellence in medical education, research, and innovation. We are confident that our first graduating batch is well prepared with the competence, confidence, and values needed to excel in the evolving field of medicine.”

He added, “Our continuing focus is on preparing doctors who can make a meaningful contribution to healthcare in India and beyond. We will also remain committed to advancing research and academic development at MTMC as part of our long-term vision.”

The International Education group at Cambridge University Press & Assessment (Cambridge) today announced that science teacher Soma Mandal from GD Goenka Public School, Delhi, is the global winner of the 2026 Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Awards. In a close race with eight other regional winners from around the globe, Soma earned 40 percent of the public vote to become the first ever overall winner from India.

The competition honours teachers' vital contribution to molding student futures, transforming lives, and equipping pupils with the skills needed for success in an increasingly complex world. With over 10 years’ teaching experience, Soma is dedicated to embedding climate education within her science lessons, encouraging her learners to investigate environmental issues and design practical solutions through collaborative and inquiry-based learning.

With a master's degree in environmental science, she developed a climate-focused curriculum, in which she inspires students to emerge as confident agents of climate action and sustainable change.

In what Soma believed would be a straightforward acceptance of the South Asia regional award, the teacher’s celebration took an unexpected turn when Rod Smith, Group Managing Director of International Education at Cambridge, announced that she had also won the global vote on a video call last week.

Joined by her parents and brother, Soma arrived at Cambridge offices in New Delhi on 27^th May where she was presented with the global award and a place on a Cambridge University Press & Assessment professional development online or virtual enrichment course of her choice.

Upon receiving her award, Soma Mandal said, “I never expected this – it came as a complete surprise and it’s a moment I will never forget. Every day, I feel fortunate to be able to inspire the next generation through work I care so deeply about.

GREMI city campus unveiled at Million Minds Tech City

The launch of the campus marks a significant step in GREMI's journey to establish a formal, industry-aligned academic home for real estate education in India, supported by Ganesh Housing Limited and grounded in the recognition that balanced urban development is only possible when town planning is supported by structured education and modern thinking.

The inauguration, held alongside the Phase 1 launch of Million Minds Tech City, reflects the intentional integration of education, employment and innovation within the Ahmedabad–Gandhinagar growth corridor. GREMI's City Campus will serve as a live learning environment — connecting students directly with the built-environment industry — while its long-term vision of a 100-acre dedicated university campus, for which a Deemed University application has already been submitted to the UGC, positions India's real estate sector on the path to having its own world-class academic home. An application for GREMI to transform into a Deemed University under distinct category has already been submitted to the UGC.

The launch brought together a convergence that is rare in Indian education — a sector-specific institution, co-located within a live employment district, backed by committed long-term capital, and supported at the highest levels of government. Open House 2026 at Anant National University Showcases Design Beyond Aesthetics and Decoration 

Bringing together participants from diverse cities and academic backgrounds, the second edition was designed to help students understand design not merely as aesthetics or decoration, but as a discipline rooted in critical thinking, systems understanding, innovation and problem-solving. Through direct engagement with Anant’s academic ecosystem, participants experienced how design education can shape meaningful responses to contemporary challenges, for India and the world.

Attended by close to 400 students and parents, the Open House offered students a first-hand understanding of design education at Anant. Through hands-on workshops led by more than 30 Anant faculty, studio walkthroughs and engagement with mentors and peers, participants experienced how ideas evolve and how concepts lead to prototypes and solutions in real-world contexts.

The Open House also offered participants insights into Anant’s flexible, future-focused academic approach, which integrates design with sustainability, technology, research and interdisciplinary learning. Specially curated discussions also helped them understand the various career pathways and career opportunities that design offers. 

Parents of the participants, too, engaged enthusiastically throughout the experience, gaining a deeper understanding of the scope, relevance and career potential of design education. By creating opportunities for meaningful dialogue and interaction, the initiative helped families make more informed academic decisions while building greater awareness around the expanding possibilities within the design discipline.

Goa’s history, music, traditions, and cultural spirit came alive at Galgotias University as students celebrated Goa Statehood Day through performances, storytelling, and visual art

Known for its unique blend of Indian and Portuguese influences, Goa occupies a distinctive place in India’s cultural landscape. From its folk traditions, music, architecture, cuisine, and coastal communities to its festivals, artistic legacy, and layered social history, Goa represents a meeting point of multiple civilisational and cultural influences. The celebration at Galgotias University attempted to bring these dimensions alive for students through music, theatre, dance, visual storytelling, and performances inspired by the state’s cultural identity.

The event was graced by Mr. Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, Former Chief Secretary, Goa, along with his wife. The occasion began with a traditional Goan Khordu welcome, introducing audiences to a ceremonial gesture closely associated with Goan hospitality and community traditions.

One of the highlights of the event was a specially curated documentary on Goa created by the School of Media and Communication Studies at Galgotias University. Showcased during the celebrations, the documentary traced Goa’s journey across centuries, touching upon early historical references, the Kadamba and Vijayanagara influences, temple traditions and architectural evolution, the Portuguese colonial period, Operation Vijay, and Goa’s eventual Statehood. Through archival references, visuals, narration, music, and storytelling, the film attempted to present Goa not merely as a tourist destination but as a region shaped by history, resistance, migration, faith, language, and cultural exchange. The presentation was warmly received by attendees and became one of the most discussed segments of the programme.

The auditorium came alive through a series of performances presented by students from the Music Club, Dance Club, and Actors Hub. Music, dance, theatre, and stage performances inspired by Goan and contemporary cultural themes filled the venue with rhythm, movement, humour, and audience participation. From musical renditions such as Maria Pitache and Memories to choreographed performances and theatrical segments, students brought different fragments of Goan and contemporary performance culture onto the stage.

The programme also reflected the scale of student involvement behind the scenes. Students participated across scripting, editing, stage coordination, anchoring, costume planning, performances, and documentary production in the days leading up to the event, turning the celebration into a collaborative cultural production exercise.

Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO, Galgotias University, reflected on Goa’s distinctive cultural and historical identity during the celebration. Focusing on near-term projections (2021-2040) the study provides actionable insights for policymakers and local communities, using CMIP6* model projections corrected for regional bias to improve accuracy. The report warns that the window for adaptation is rapidly narrowing as the 1.5°C warming threshold is expected to be reached across India’s administrative regions in the near future. 

“Climate change is not some distant future challenge—it is the reality of today. 2040 is just 14 years away,” said Anurag Behar, CEO, Azim Premji Foundation. “This dataset brings to life the impacts of climate change with much greater immediacy, highlighting how we must restructure our infrastructure and governance to ensure we collectively address this crisis.”
 

The report traces how specific changes—from rising wet-bulb temperatures in Kerala to intensifying monsoons in Maharashtra—are already rendering traditional knowledge systems, like the Nakaih wind calendar, unreliable. It aims to provide the foundational data necessary for local authorities to build district-level resilience.

“The data in this report is a mirror that reflects a reality we can no longer afford to ignore. For decades, we treated climate change as a global abstraction — a problem of polar ice caps and distant centuries. But our findings show that for the Indian coastline, the crisis is hyper-local and immediate. Whether it is the heat stress in Ernakulam or the rising salinity in the Sundarbans, our vulnerability is visible in all aspects of our daily lives. We have a short window of time to move from reactive mitigation to proactive adaptation — we need to craft a future that acknowledges the ecological challenges faced by our nation,” said Harini Nagendra, Director, School of Climate Change and Sustainability, Azim Premji University.

Maharashtra and Gujarat’s coastal regions are entering a period of significant environmental transition, with Suburban Mumbai projected to see summer maximum temperatures rise by 1.3°C, highlighting the growing need for heat-resilient urban planning. This warming is accompanied by a marked intensification of seasonal rainfall; Suburban Mumbai is expected to face almost an additional week (+6 days) of heavy rain, while districts like Surat and Bhavnagar are preparing for Southwest monsoon surges of 23% and 24%, respectively. These shifts are already impacting local livelihoods: for instance, the Koli community in Mumbai reports business losses when unpredictable rain spells disrupt the traditional drying of prawns. By focusing on the immediate 2040 window, the report provides the granular data necessary for the West Coast to safeguard its infrastructure and unique coastal heritage.

Key Findings

• Rising Temperatures: India’s average temperatures are projected to increase by 1.5°C, with approximately 40 coastal districts likely to see summer temperatures rise by over 1°C.

• Dangerous "Wet-Bulb" Heat: Coastal Kerala and Tamil Nadu will experience high summer wet-bulb temperatures, nearing the 31°C- levels considered dangerous for humans.

• Ernakulam Heat Spike: Ernakulam is projected to record the highest increase in maximum summer temperatures projected at +1.3°C among all coastal districts.

• Intensified West Coast Monsoons: Coastal Maharashtra and Gujarat will receive significantly higher rainfall with suburban Mumbai likely to experience nearly an additional week of heavy rain.

• Surat’s Monsoon Surge: Surat is projected to see a substantial 23% increase in Southwest Monsoon compared to historical levels.

• Sea-Level Rise and Erosion: Under moderate emission scenarios (SSP2-4.5)**, global sea levels are projected to rise by 15 cm by 2050, accelerating coastal erosion and creating "ghost villages" in regions like Ganjam, Odisha.

• Cyclone Risk: Rapid acceleration in sea surface temperatures (0.27°C per decade) is increasing the likelihood of intense tropical cyclones.

• Impact on Traditional Livelihoods: In Goa, unseasonal rains are destroying entire salt harvests within hours, while warming seas are pushing fish further offshore, leading to "empty nets" for small-scale fishermen.

• Health and Salinity: In the Sundarbans, rising salinity from frequent embankment breaches is linked to increased skin diseases and menstrual health challenges among women.

The company delivered a strong financial performance in FY26, reporting a Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs. 9.11 crores, reflecting a 104.85% year-on-year (YoY) growth compared to Rs. 4.45 crores in FY25. Divyansh Kumar Mishra and Prakhar Kumar Singh of Galgotias University secure INR 3 crore investment commitment for CyberGenix, their AI and cybersecurity startup

The startup has been founded by Divyansh Kumar Mishra from the Class of 2026, currently pursuing a Diploma in Computer Science Engineering, and Prakhar Kumar Singh from the Class of 2029, currently pursuing B.Tech Computer Science Engineering with specialisation in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics.

The investment follows the successful completion of the startup’s due diligence process, with the Share Subscription Agreement currently under execution.

Speaking about the vision behind Cybergenix, Divyansh Kumar Mishra said, “Working across Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, automation, and intelligent digital systems, Cybergenix is developing a context-driven AI ecosystem designed to address limitations increasingly visible across current AI infrastructure. While AI adoption has accelerated rapidly, many existing systems continue to operate as fragmented tools with limited contextual understanding, weak personalization, and inadequate integration between intelligence, automation, and security systems.”

Highlighting the technology architecture being developed at Cybergenix, Prakhar Kumar Singh said, “We are building an integrated architecture combining large language models, self-learning engines, automation frameworks, cybersecurity systems, and digital twin technology to create adaptive and behaviour-aware AI infrastructure capable of understanding workflows, user intent, and operational environments in real time.”

Two student-led teams from Galgotias University will represent India at the Global EDVentures Startup Competition 2026 in Hong Kong with education-tech innovations

The two teams are working on different but equally relevant problems within education technology, one exploring how Virtual Reality can make complex concepts easier to experience and understand, and the other attempting to make coding education more accessible for visually impaired learners through tactile interaction systems. Their selection also comes at a relevant juncture when the global education technology market is seeing growing interest in immersive learning and accessibility-focused innovation.

Startup Tekurious Pvt. Limited includes Akash Kumar, a third-year B.Tech Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) student from the Class of 2027, Yash Vardhan, a third-year B.Sc. (Hons.) Microbiology student from the Class of 2026 at the School of Biosciences and Technology, and Anoop Maurya, a fourth-year B.Tech Artificial Intelligence & Data Science student from the Batch of 2022–2026 at Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology. The startup is building a Virtual Reality-enabled immersive learning platform designed to help students understand complex academic concepts through interactive simulations rather than passive textbook instruction.

Speaking about the journey behind the idea, Akash Kumar shared that the startup began with a simple belief that students understand concepts far better when they can experience them rather than memorise them. He added that representing their work at EDVentures in Hong Kong gives the team an opportunity to showcase how immersive learning technologies can improve engagement and accessibility across classrooms.

Project TACTO comprises Gaurang Pant, a third-year B.Tech Computer Science Engineering student from the Class of 2027, Shristi Mandoliya, a second-year B.Tech Computer Science Engineering (Data Science) student from the Class of 2028, and Kavya Singh, a third-year BBA Financial Investment Analysis student from the Batch of 2023–2026 at the School of Finance & Commerce, Galgotias University. The team is developing a tactile hardware-based coding system for visually impaired learners, translating abstract programming logic into physical interaction through modular blocks supported by sensing technologies and real-time audio feedback.

Sharing the experience behind building Project TACTO, Gaurang Pant said the idea emerged from conversations around how visually impaired learners often face barriers in coding education because of screen-dependent interfaces. He noted that presenting the project at EDVentures would allow the team to engage with educators and innovators working toward more inclusive models of programming education.

The EDVentures Competition will bring together student innovation teams from leading institutions including Nanyang Technological University, National Institute of Education Singapore, King Saud University, East China Normal University, Universitas Indonesia, and Ajman University, placing the Galgotias teams alongside a wider Asian network of young founders building technology-led responses to how people learn, access knowledge, and experience education.

Speaking on the opportunity, Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO of Galgotias University, said, “As internationalisation becomes an increasing area of focus for the University, opportunities such as EDVentures allow our students to engage with global educators, researchers, and student founders working on similar challenges. When students begin building solutions for real learning problems and present them on international platforms, it reflects the confidence they are developing as innovators and problem-solvers with relevance beyond their immediate surroundings.”

Highlighting the importance of global exposure for emerging founders, Rachit Mathur, entrepreneur and mentor to students at the Galgotias Incubation Centre, said “Exposure to a global platform like EDVentures allows student founders to test their ideas in diverse academic environments and learn from different perspectives. This year’s SDG-4 theme has encouraged teams to connect inclusive education goals with emerging technologies such as AI and immersive learning systems. Experiences like this help young founders refine solutions into scalable innovations.”

Galgotias has been steadily expanding its startup and innovation ecosystem through industry-linked Centres of Excellence, advanced technology labs, and structured incubation support for student founders. The university has incubated more than 135 startups so far and has established the INR 10 crore Galgotias Innovation Fund to support emerging student-led ventures.

Galgotias University has also developed specialised labs and Centres of Excellence in collaboration with organisations including Intel, Cisco, Apple, Salesforce, Tata Technologies, and Capgemini, alongside a high-performance computing ecosystem powered by the NVIDIA DGX H200, giving students access to industry-grade infrastructure and emerging technology platforms. Reflecting the expanding culture of applied innovation on campus, 34 student-developed applications are currently live on the Apple App Store, while 18 Galgotias students were selected among the global winners of the Apple Swift Student Challenge.

Both teams are currently undergoing structured mentoring support as part of their preparation for participation in the global competition. The participation of both teams reflects how student-led innovation at Galgotias University is increasingly moving beyond classroom projects into globally relevant problem-solving around accessibility, immersive learning, and the future of education technology.

KCG College of Technology and Urbaser Sumeet signed an MoU to promote sustainability and waste management initiatives for students in Chennai

The collaboration aims to create a long-term industry-integrated sustainability model that will actively engage students in solving real-world urban environmental challenges in Chennai.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at the KCG campus in the presence of Mr Albert Gleiser Ignacio, Managing Director; Mr S. Shankar, Zonal Manager; Ms Komal Gotham Chand, Head – IEC; and Mr Vignesh, Manager – IEC, representing Sumeet Urban Services, alongside Dr Annie Jacob, Director, and Dr G. Prabhakaran, Principal In-Charge of KCG College of Technology. The event also saw the participation of faculty members, Heads of Departments, students, and institutional representatives.

The partnership will focus on sustainability initiatives, waste management awareness, green innovation, social responsibility, and practical exposure for students in environmental systems and urban sanitation management.

As part of the initiative, students are expected to participate in clean-up drives, awareness campaigns, sustainability workshops, internships, innovation challenges, and field-level waste management activities over the coming academic cycles.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Anand Jacob Varghese, Chairman, Hindustan Group of Institutions, emphasised the importance of developing civic consciousness and environmental responsibility among students from an early stage.

“Engineering education today must go beyond laboratories and classrooms. When our students walk alongside conservancy workers, manage waste drives, and design recycling solutions for their own city, they are not just learning — they are becoming the kind of engineers and citizens Chennai needs. This partnership with Urbaser Sumeet is a step towards making that the norm, not the exception,” said Dr Anand Jacob Varghese.

He noted that institutions must play an active role in nurturing socially responsible engineers and innovators capable of contributing to sustainable urban development.

Dr Annie Jacob, Director, KCG College of Technology, highlighted the role played by Urbaser Sumeet in Chennai’s conservancy and sanitation ecosystem and expressed confidence that the collaboration would lead to meaningful student-led environmental engagement programmes.

“Urbaser Sumeet manages one of Chennai’s most critical urban services, and having that expertise embedded into our campus programmes is a significant advantage for our students. From internships in waste vehicle operations to the Edubridge initiative for conservancy workers’ children, this collaboration is built around real impact — not just awareness,” said Dr Annie Jacob.

She further noted that the collaboration will help bridge classroom learning with practical environmental problem-solving through direct industry exposure and community participation.

Under the MoU, students of KCG College of Technology will participate in clean-up campaigns, awareness drives, workshops, and internships related to waste management systems and vehicle operations.

The collaboration will also include hackathons, innovation challenges, practical training sessions, and professional certification opportunities focused on environmental sustainability and circular economy practices.

The partnership is also expected to encourage research-oriented projects in areas such as waste segregation, recycling systems, circular economy models, and smart urban sustainability solutions.

One of the major initiatives under the collaboration is “Edubridge,” a programme aimed at supporting the education and empowerment of children of conservancy workers.

The initiative also seeks to create stronger community engagement and social inclusion by recognising and supporting the families of frontline sanitation workers.

Urbaser Sumeet will additionally serve as the hygiene partner for major institutional events at KCG and will demonstrate best practices in source segregation, solid waste management, and urban cleanliness systems.

Vivek Dube interacted with students at the Galgotias Dialogue Series, where young minds engage with leaders, thinkers, and changemakers

Organised by Galgotias Career Connect, a student-led club focused on industry interaction, leadership engagement, and career awareness, the session was held as part of the Galgotias Dialogue Series, a platform through which students engage with distinguished thinkers, policymakers, public leaders, entrepreneurs, administrators, and professionals from diverse fields to develop broader perspectives beyond classroom learning. The interaction witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across disciplines and evolved into a candid exchange shaped by questions, reflections, and experiences from Shri Dube’s distinguished four-decade-long career in public service.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Vivek Dube spoke about the evolution of policing in India, tracing developments from the Police Act introduced after 1857 to the transition from the Imperial Police to the Indian Police Service. He explained the role of the police in maintaining law and order, legal procedures related to crime investigation, and the challenges involved in crowd management and public safety in a complex and rapidly changing society.

He also reflected on the broader justice ecosystem, describing police, judiciary, and prisons as three interconnected pillars that must function with fairness and accountability to uphold justice while protecting innocent citizens. The discussion further touched upon terrorism, national security, leadership under pressure, and the importance of honesty and integrity in both professional and personal life.

The session became especially engaging during the interactive segment where students asked questions on leadership, UPSC preparation, motivation, emotional resilience, and balancing personal emotions with professional duty. Responding to these questions, Shri Dube advised students to recognise their strengths, remain disciplined, and pursue excellence with determination rather than becoming distracted by criticism or external validation. He also emphasised the importance of physical fitness, mental well-being, and time management in sustaining long-term professional success.

During his interaction, Shri Vivek Dube expressed appreciation for the sprawling campus and academic ecosystem being developed at Galgotias University and said he was particularly impressed by the enthusiasm, curiosity, and active participation of students during the session. He noted that institutions play an important role not only in imparting technical education but also in shaping responsible citizens and future leaders through conversations around ethics, leadership, governance, and public service.
