The event commenced at 5:00 AM and featured a guided wellness session led by a Ministry of AYUSH-certified yoga expert, “Ms Shefali Khullar”. Participants were taken through yoga postures, mindful movement exercises, and breathing techniques, with a special focus on proper form and correct practice. The morning also included engaging Q&A interactions, wellness-focused quizzes, and discussions on healthy lifestyle habits, making the experience both informative and interactive. Referring to the younger generation, Rajinder Gupta said that while today's youth have unprecedented opportunities, they also face immense pressure to succeed. In such circumstances, yoga provides the right direction, confidence and strength to maintain balance in life.

He further said that technology and opportunities will continue to evolve in a rapidly changing world, but balance, concentration and connection with values will always remain important. He urged everyone to make yoga an integral part of their daily lives and embrace this invaluable heritage of India.

Festival Experience - Six Zones Across Palawan Green
From 17 to 19 July, the Festival Grounds at Palawan Green will feature six immersive zones, anchored by the iconic Cupola Stage, which serves as both the festival's main stage and its central gathering point. Featuring the signature overhead canopy first introduced in 2019, this expansive 2,000 sqm space will host large-scale group movement sessions led by global fitness personalities by day, and performances by global music acts by night.

Coffee Table Book Launch

The event was graced by Dr. Arun Kumar Saxena, Hon'ble Minister of State (Independent Charge), and Shri K. P. Malik, Hon'ble Minister of State, Forest, Environment and Zoological Parks Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, V. Hekali Zhimomi, IAS Principal Secretary, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, and Anuradha Vemuri, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Government of Uttar Pradesh, senior policymakers, forest officials, members of the Tharu tribal community and conservation experts were also present to address challenges faced by communities residing in forest fringe areas where a host of reasons increase the vulnerability to human–wildlife encounters.

FAO GLOBEFISH convenes a timely session on Aquatic Food Fraud: Mislabeling, Market Demand and Consumer Trust. Drawing on FAO's recent technical paper on food fraud in the fisheries and aquaculture sector, the session will examine a problem of significant scale: up to 20% of fisheries and aquaculture products may be mislabeled globally, with fraud particularly prevalent in processed products, restaurants and catering. The session will examine how price incentives, supply chain complexity and governance gaps interact to enable fraud, and what governments, industry, retailers and standard-setting bodies are doing to address it.
 

The Invisible Net: Securing the Digital Integrity and Resilience of the Asian Seafood Supply Chain is a session led by the President of the Cyber Security Alliance for the Seafood Industry (CSAFI) that will discuss the emerging risk for the sector. As seafood supply chains become increasingly powered by IoT-enabled processing plants, AI-driven logistics and blockchain-backed traceability, they also become vulnerable to cyberattack. With incidents on global logistics networks rising over 900% in five years, a single breach can trigger immediate product spoilage, financial loss and reputational damage.
 

The session will present a 2026 roadmap for protecting operational technology, defending traceability data against digital fraud and making the business case for cybersecurity as a core ESG and trade compliance imperative.

The Convention was centred around the theme "Designing, Developing and Manufacturing AI-Driven Next Generation Railway Control, Command and Signalling Systems for a Viksit Bharat," reflecting India's commitment towards building a modern, safe, efficient and globally competitive railway ecosystem powered by indigenous innovation and advanced technologies. The three-day event featured high-level plenary sessions, technical conferences, expert panel discussions, industry exhibitions, product demonstrations and extensive business networking opportunities.

The Convention commenced with a grand Inaugural Function on 10th June 2026, which witnessed the presence of several distinguished dignitaries and senior railway officials including Vivek Gupta, Member Infrastructure, Railway Board; His Excellency Tran Thanh Tung, Charge d'Affaires of Vietnam in India; K.V. The exhibition at the Convention saw more than 100 leading companies showcase cutting-edge innovations in railway signalling, train traffic management systems, telecommunications, predictive maintenance, AI-driven operations, digital twins, cybersecurity, intelligent transportation systems and indigenous railway technologies.

The Convention assumed special significance at a time when Indian Railways is undergoing unprecedented modernization and capacity expansion through transformative initiatives including indigenous train protection systems, digital railway operations, high-speed and semi-high-speed corridors, dedicated freight networks and advanced signalling technologies.

The event also served as a powerful platform for strengthening international cooperation in the railway sector. Delegations and representatives from friendly nations and countries across the Asia-Pacific region, participated in discussions exploring opportunities for collaboration in railway modernisation, technology transfer, skill development and capacity building.

10th Edition of “We Love Summer 2026” Wraps Up on a High Note at Ambience Malls - Vasant Kunj & Gurugram

The summer camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from children aged 5 to 12 years, who engaged in a thoughtfully curated mix of educational and recreational activities designed to make summer holidays both meaningful and enjoyable.

Throughout the camp, children explored a wide range of experiences including robotics workshops, theatre sessions, art & craft activities and interactive learning modules. Alongside this, kids also enjoyed some of the most loved entertainment attractions at the malls, including movie screenings, iSKATE, Funcity and Timezone, making the camp a wholesome blend of fun and experiential learning.

PMI leaders drive dialogue at the Construction Roundtable

Speaking about the growing importance of project management in infrastructure delivery, Amit Goyal, Managing Director, PMI South Asia, said, “India’s infrastructure growth story will increasingly be defined by how effectively projects are executed on the ground. The Construction Project Management Talent Gap Report by PMI, 2026, indicates that demand for construction project professionals across South Asia is expected to accelerate significantly by 2035, driven by sustained infrastructure and industrial investment across the region. Under high-growth scenarios, South Asia’s construction talent gap could increase from 291,000 professionals today to 558,000 by 2035, with India alone projected to require nearly 395,000 construction project professionals by then.

During the session, Yash Singh, Partner, Business Consulting, KPMG India, highlighted, “India’s infrastructure and construction sector is entering a high-growth phase, making substantial investment in skilled project talent critical for delivering projects efficiently and sustainably. We are delighted to partner with PMI in such knowledge initiatives and advancing the dialogue around strengthening project and execution excellence.”

The discussion highlighted the operational and financial consequences of weak project execution across the industry. A 2020 global PMI survey also found that industry estimates indicate that 72% of projects exceed budgets, 73% face delays, and 70% experience scope creep. At the same time, nearly USD 127 million is lost for every USD 1 billion invested due to inefficiencies in project performance. Average project overruns affect profitability, stakeholder confidence, and long-term competitiveness.

As part of PMI South Asia’s broader Construction Roundtable series, this roundtable aimed to create a collaborative platform for industry leaders to identify capability gaps, exchange best practices, and explore diverse interventions that can strengthen infrastructure delivery outcomes across the region. The series builds on the first Construction Roundtable held during PMSAC24 in September 2024 which convened C-suite leaders and representatives from leading organisations across the infrastructure ecosystem.

Industry leaders and marketing executives at INDEX'26 New York, Pepper's summit focused on the future of AI-driven search and brand discovery

That was the ground truth at INDEX'26 New York, hosted by Pepper on May 27. More than 200 CMOs, VPs of Marketing, growth leaders, investors, and technology builders convened for the New York edition of what Pepper bills as the world's first The GEO Growth Summit - a forum built not to debate whether generative AI is disrupting search, but to determine what winning looks like on the other side of that disruption.

The results were unambiguous. Across every conversation - from the boardroom to the brand team - the same inflection point kept surfacing: organic discovery has been structurally rewired, and the strategies that drove growth for the past decade are losing their footing fast. CAC is climbing. Traditional SEO signals are weakening. Buyer journeys now fracture across seven or more touchpoints before a decision is made. And through all of it, AI models are forming opinions about brands - from reviews, citations, third-party content, and web authority - long before a human ever enters a search bar.

The urgency extended well beyond the marketing function. Investors and board members, as surfaced in one of the day's most candid conversations, are already asking their portfolio companies about AI search visibility - often without the CMO in the room. For enterprise leadership teams, the message was pointed: Generative Engine Optimization is no longer a content team initiative. It has become a business continuity question.

That reality landed differently for regulated industries. In financial services, the stakes of AI getting it wrong go beyond brand damage. A misattributed claim, a hallucinated product detail, an AI-generated answer that contradicts compliance policy - these are not PR problems. They are regulatory ones. Leaders from DTCC and Arbor Realty Trust gave texture to what it means to navigate brand authority in an environment where no single team controls what an AI says about you.

"I think of myself as much more of an operations and architect of the department than a traditional marketer. We've gone from Chief Marketing Officer to Chief Architect," said Lauren Wagner Boyman, CMO, KPMG US.

The CMO role itself was on trial. Lauren Wagner Boyman of KPMG US and Drew Neisser of CMO Huddles - drawing on data from more than 600 CMO conversations - made the case that the function has been permanently restructured. Speed, agility, and content efficiency have displaced traditional brand stewardship as the core mandate. Consumer brand leaders from Uber, Unilever, Major League Soccer, and Samsung Ads confirmed the same pattern from a different angle: when AI compresses buyer choice to a single recommendation, the brand that wins is the one the model has learned to trust, not the one with the biggest media budget.

"The physical shelf had 100 options. E-commerce became endless but we shop above the fold - so 100 became 5. AI-led search is about to compress 5 into 1. You want to be that one - every time, in every platform," said Deepak Subramanian, Global VP Marketing, Unilever.

Pepper used the summit to unveil Atlas, its agentic OS for organic growth - positioned not as a GEO tool but as an outcome engine built to own traffic, citations, velocity, and pipeline in the AI era. Guy Yalif of Webflow separately debuted the AEO Maturity Model, grounded in data from millions of B2B websites, giving attendees a diagnostic framework to benchmark where their organizations actually stand. Practitioners from RocketReach, Optimizely, Stacker, and G2 closed the day with a ground-level view of what is working inside the GEO stack right now.

INDEX'26 New York follows the sold-out San Francisco edition in April, which drew more than 200 senior leaders from Salesforce, NVIDIA, Intel, Snowflake, Gong, and Demandbase. Future editions of the summit are planned for additional markets.

Kicking Off the Summer Season: Sun Life Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Festival Debuts in an Upgraded Format

Over 220 Dragon Boat Teams from Around the World Compete in Victoria Harbour

This year’s races will be held on 27 to 28 June, with the number of participating teams, countries and regions higher than last year. Teams from 16 countries and regions will take part, including the Chinese Mainland, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Qatar and Indonesia. Over 220 teams and more than 4,500 athletes will compete in 21 races.

Special “50th Anniversary Fishermen Invitational Cup” Preserves the Traditional Spirit of Dragon Boat Racing

First held in 1976 by the then Hong Kong Tourist Association (the predecessor of the HKTB), the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races began as competitions among fishermen’s dragon boats in the Shau Kei Wan Typhoon Shelter. They have since developed into a unique international mega event in Hong Kong, bringing together top teams from around the world in Victoria Harbour and integrating sport, culture and entertainment.
 

This year, the “50th Anniversary Fishermen Invitational Cup” has been introduced, inviting six local fishermen teams from areas such as Aberdeen and Chai Wan to compete using traditional wooden dragon boats. In addition, a new “50th Anniversary Championship” has been added, bringing together champions from nine major race categories to compete for the title of “Ultimate Dragon Boat Champion”.

Extended to 13 Days with Double the Dragon Boat Festival Excitement

For the first time, the Dragon Boat Festival held at the Tsim Sha Tsui promenade will be extended to 13 days (19 June to 1 July), spanning from 19 June (Dragon Boat Festival) to 1 July to encourage visitors to stay longer and enjoy a cultural experience that blends tradition and modernity.

The Avenue of Stars will feature a Dragon Boat Food Lane, complemented by four themed photo spots: Sun Life HK Dragon Boat Co-Creation Zone, a 22-metre traditional wooden dragon boat; a dragon boat-themed installation in collaboration with the new film Minions & Monsters; and a Giant Coca-Cola® Bottle and Dragon Boat-themed Photo Spot. Together, these elements offer a new festive experience for locals and visitors.

The festival will also debut a series of intangible cultural heritage workshops, where visitors can experience activities such as fishing net plaiting, blown sugar making and lye rice dumpling making. Visitors can experience dragon boat racing through virtual reality (VR), using innovative technology to explore this traditional festival. On weekends and public holidays, there will be a vibrant lineup of intangible cultural heritage performances, including Wing Chun, diabolo, ruan and guzheng. As evening falls, the atmosphere will come alive with a series of live music performances. In addition, a dedicated live broadcast viewing zone will allow both the public and visitors to watch the thrilling action of the Victoria Harbour races up close.

From 15 June to 31 August, visitors who book hotels in Hong Kong via Trip.com or Ctrip for the period from 1 July to 14 September, with a single transaction of HK USD 1,500 or above, will enjoy double rewards: one attraction ticket offer and one public transport offer of choice, with discounts of up to 50 per cent. The promotions cover a wide range of popular travel products, including the Peak Tram, theme parks, the Hong Kong Observation Wheel, Noah’s Ark tickets, round-trip Airport Express tickets, and bus day passes. The three shows were presented shortly after the Company's success at the prestigious Blackpool Dance Festival, where they swept the British Championships again in both Ballroom and Latin Formations. Whether competing in London or performing in India, the internationally acclaimed ensemble consistently wowed audiences with its creative blend of standard ballroom and Latin styles. From the Waltz, Tango, and Quickstep to the Lindyhop and Samba, the student dancers surpassed cultural boundaries on the dance floor, show after show.

"It was truly spectacular. Every movement was executed beautifully, and the storytelling was so powerful that it kept me completely engaged throughout," said media consultant Poonam Kashyap from the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, who partnered the performances.

"All of us tried to coordinate and learn each other's culture and traditions," shared Acharya Jayalakshmi Eshwar, renowned head of the Bharatanatyam department at the dance institution. "It was like one family then we came together, exchanging our artistic ideas. It was very, very beautiful – a great experience."

Beauty and the Beast

Organised in collaboration with Disney and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board, Disney Garden of Wonder is inspired by Disney and Pixar stories that have charmed generations of fans around the world, inviting people of all ages to re-discover their favourite stories of courage, kindness, friendship and love through the beauty of plants. Following the success of its debut at Gardens by the Bay in 2024, the enthralling floral showcase returns in an even more special second edition.

Anna and Olaf from Frozen

Visitors can look forward to five themed areas:

• Frozen, in which topiary versions of Anna, Elsa and Olaf preside over an enchanting snowy landscape, brought to life through themed lighting that imagines a frost-kissed world of wonder. Inspired by Elsa's Ice Palace, visitors can step on a floor where magical snowflakes dance and respond to movement.

• Disney princesses, where Rapunzel appears alongside her best friend Pascal the chameleon; Belle is with the Beast and their enchanted companions; and Jasmine is accompanied by her loyal tiger Rajah.

• Hundred Acre Wood, where Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet and Tigger gather in a cheerful party scene. Tigger bounces up and down while Piglet twirls, and visitors can picture themselves joining everyone at the table!

• Toy Story 5, where Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear appear as topiaries in a playful setting inspired by Bonnie's Room, alongside displays of new characters Lilypad and Smarty Pants.

• Go Local, a Singaporean-themed zone where Disney characters are reimagined in familiar local settings. Chip 'n Dale perch atop a giant ice cream sandwich; Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck share the spicy rice noodle dish laksa; and Mickey Mouse makes the traditional beverage teh tarik with Donald Duck.

Outside Floral Fantasy, a 4m-tall Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey marks the entrance and welcomes visitors to Gardens by the Bay.

The hand-assembled topiaries are crafted from more than 40 species of preserved and dried floral materials, which took more than 16,000 man hours.

Each material was selected for its colour, texture and form, helping to reflect each character's features. Plenty of flowers are used for the Disney princesses for example, while Rapunzel's hair is crafted from Stipa, a perennial grass that has fluffy or oat-like flowerheads.

The surrounding landscapes also use plant palettes that reflect the mood of each zone — sunflowers and marigolds reflect the honey-toned meadow setting of Winnie the Pooh, while lilies and roses bring out the romantic and jewel-toned settings of Disney Princess stories. Hydrangeas and dusty miller evoke the icy blues, whites and silvers of Frozen.

Throughout the duration of Garden of Wonder, visitors can enjoy select weekend Meet and Greet sessions with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in outfits inspired by Singapore's national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim. APD's Circle of Collaboration event in New Delhi marked the integration of GoI's Sugamya Bharat App and Yes to Access

The integration comes at a time when accessibility efforts in India increasingly require more than infrastructure improvements alone. Sustained progress requires collaborative monitoring, stronger accountability, and active participation from governments, civil society organisations, and citizens.

India has – at conservative estimates – 2.68 crore citizens who live with a disability. However, even 10 years after the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, public spaces like parks, offices, educational institutions, and restaurants often lack basic accessibility facilities like ramps, wheelchair-friendly toilets. That’s where these apps come in – for regular citizens to audit and report the accessibility of public places. While the Sugamya Bharat App enables citizens to report accessibility barriers and supports the objectives of the Accessible India Campaign, Yes to Access enables citizens to assess and report the accessibility of public spaces at scale, creating a map that helps persons with disabilities, caregivers, families, and allies identify accessible locations.

Together, the platforms aim to strengthen citizen-led accessibility monitoring and create more responsive systems for identifying and addressing barriers faced by persons with disabilities.

The announcement was made during Circle of Collaborations, a convening designed to showcase the power of partnerships in advancing accessibility and inclusion. The event brought together government representatives, disability rights advocates, civil society organisations, accessibility practitioners, designers, and development sector leaders to reflect on progress made and explore pathways for greater collaboration.

The event was inaugurated by Ms. Manmeet Kaur Nanda, IAS, Additional Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The inaugural panel also featured Dr. S. On World Environment Day, we recognize the vital importance of elephants to the environment. Elephants are vital ecosystem engineers that maintain and regenerate ecosystems through seed dispersal, habitat clearing, and nutrient recycling. By eating, crushing, and moving vegetation, they promote the growth of diverse plant life and capture atmospheric carbon. Elephants consume vast quantities of fruit. As they travel long distances, they deposit these seeds in nutrient-rich dung, effectively planting new forests. Some plant seeds actually require passing through an elephant's digestive tract to germinate. They trample dense brush and eat smaller saplings. This clears competition and opens up canopy gaps, allowing larger trees to absorb more sunlight and store significant amounts of carbon. As they roam, elephants create paths, dig deep wells to tap underground water, and knock down vegetation, providing smaller animals with access to food and water. 

Unfortunately elephants are killed for their ivory, become victims of human wildlife conflict and are illegally captured for human entertainment and subject to tortuous training process to make them amenable for rides. Speaking on the occasion, Tricia Croasdell, Chief Executive Officer of World Animal Protection, said, “The event today is an important one for building understanding of how best to protect elephants. Elephants, like all wild animals, are not suited to close, hands-on encounters with people. They belong in the wild, not in captivity or for riding at venues like Amer Fort in Jaipur. Seeing elephants in real life can be a dream come true for many people, but to protect their welfare, we must watch elephants from a distance, in their natural habitat, or at a true sanctuary. I encourage everyone to research before booking elephant activities and spot the signs of elephant exploitation, such as captive breeding and unnatural performances. I am buoyed by the fact that so many children will be involved today, using art and speaking about why we need to 'Keep Wildlife Wild' – a huge thank-you from me for helping to spread this important message.”

Gajender Kumar Sharma, Country Director of World Animal Protection in India, emphasised the importance of keeping elephants wild and not letting them be abused in captivity. “India’s National Heritage Animal belongs in the wild where they are an integral part of the environment. They do not belong in Amer Fort in Jaipur for rides and entertainment. We request the Chief Minister of Rajasthan to listen to the voice of India’s future and end elephant rides in Jaipur and retire the elephants,” he said.

Dr. M R Jayaram, Chairman and Chancellor of RISM: described the day as “A great day for us. It has taken almost 25 years of dreaming of what has come true today.” He traced his journey of lifelong commitment and experiential learning in higher education that helped to launch a transformative higher education system that brings in the new change of “teaching institutions” to true “learning institutions.”

Why RISM? The Vision Behind the Institution

Dr. Jayaram explained that India’s education sector has lagged industry liberalization since 1990, creating a 40-year gap between industry needs and educational outcomes. RISM was conceived to bridge this chasm through experiential, outcome-based learning embedded with industry from day one.

Why U Albany -Global Knowledge Partnership,

A defining feature of RISM is its genuine knowledge partnership with the University at Albany (State University of New York), chosen after 18 months of searching. Philosophy and Future Vision

Ramaiah philosophy—“Gnyanam, Vignyanam cha Bhakti Saritam” (Knowledge, Science, and Devotion as a River)—guides its mission. Dr. Jayaram described his role as a “younger brother” learning from global “elder brothers” U Albany to build institutions that serve India.

The institution represents a triad: RISM (the university), Ramaiah Academy Foundation (skill development), and Vyuha Deep Science (Deep Science Translational Research Centre), creating a 360-degree ecosystem from learning to commercialization.

As Dr. Jayaram concluded: “I want to learn for my country, and give a learning institution for India’s next generation, RISM’s launch signals a new possibility: global-benchmark universities rooted in Indian realities, ready to produce engineers who are adaptable, ethically grounded, and capable of translating ideas into societal impact in the age of AI.”

Dr. Havidan Rodríguez, President, University at Albany, State University of New York stated that, “Higher education systems-built decades or centuries ago served an economy that no longer exists; RISM is being built from the ground up to thrive in today’s rapidly changing economy—and to lead it, not just follow it.”

Rodriguez highlighted that RISM’s DNA is infused with industry and global collaboration, ensuring students solve real-world problems in AI, cybersecurity, semiconductors, health equity, and climate change. He concluded with UAlbany’s motto: “Today, like every single day, it is a great day to be a Great Dane,” declaring that “today is a true manifestation of what a truly transformational partnership can do for our countries.”

Together, the two institutions pledged: “Together we are going to build the future—and we are starting today.”

Sri Gurucharan Gollerkeri, Executive Director and Chief Strategy Officer in his strategic address stated that, “RISM will be uniquely focused on STEM and management disciplines, offering rigorous foundational science programs designed to develop transferable technology skills. The institute will emphasize industry-embedded capstone projects that follow the principle “doing is learning,” and will promote translational research that encourages students to apply knowledge for societal benefit.”

He stated, “We must move from being mere teaching institutions to becoming learning institutions—combining knowledge with practice, embedding industry partners, and benchmarking ourselves against global standards, so that ideas move from lab to prototype, prototype to validation, validation to market, and market to societal impact, and in the age of AI, we reinforce what makes us human: curiosity, creativity, judgment, ethics, empathy, and the ability to work across disciplines.”

Prof. Raghunandan, Chairman, Task Force RISM, explaining how RISM will distinguish itself across India’s higher‑education echelons. “RISM will redefine India’s higher education echelons by shifting from credentialing to capability-building. Rooted in deep industry co‑creation and translational research, our programmes merge rigorous fundamentals with continuous, applied engagement—internships, live projects, industry‑sponsored Centres of Excellence, and a three‑year capstone starting in year two. The Mentor Professor model embeds senior industry leaders within the faculty, ensuring curriculum relevance and career‑ready graduates. Interdisciplinary schools in AI, aerospace, electrical sciences, and technology management will accelerate cross-domain problem solving and entrepreneurship. A fully residential, outcomes-driven ecosystem will cultivate leadership, resilience, and social responsibility alongside technical mastery. Strategically located in Bengaluru’s innovation corridor and partnering with global universities, RISM will produce professionals who translate research into scalable solutions and new enterprises. In doing so, RISM will elevate academic standards, employer trust, and societal impact—creating a replicable model that advances India’s leadership in technology, industry collaboration, and inclusive national development.”

The Outcome Report 2020–25 captures a period of significant growth and impact for the organisation. Over the last 5 years, Cohesion supported more than 15,000 women farmers, reached 67,409 children through education and early childhood development programmes, linked over 43,000 individuals to government welfare schemes, strengthened more than 150 community-based organisations, and enabled community-led water management initiatives that created 259,188 kilolitres of additional water storage across 78 villages.

At its heart is a father's promise to transform his son's courage into a lifelong mission for awareness, timely diagnosis, access to treatment, dignity, and hope for every child living with a rare disease. Though Shaurya left this world in 2025 at the age of 13, his courage lives on as a beacon of hope, inspiring a movement to ensure that no child with a rare disease is left behind.
 

Beyond a personal story, the book sensitizes policymakers, decision-makers, healthcare stakeholders, and society at large to the urgent need for a comprehensive and effective National Rare Disease Policy that addresses the needs of all rare disease patients. It highlights the challenges faced by families in accessing timely diagnosis, treatment, and support, while advocating for equitable healthcare, stronger policy interventions, and a more compassionate ecosystem for rare disease communities.
 

Speaking on the occasion, Harivansh, Deputy Chairman, Rajya Sabha, acknowledged the extraordinary dedication of Saurabh Singh, Co-Founder of the Rare Diseases India Foundation (RDIF), who left a promising career in a multinational company to devote his life to the cause of rare disease patients and their families across India.
 

He remarked that Saurabh transformed his personal struggle into a national mission, turning pain into purpose and becoming a powerful voice for thousands affected by rare diseases. Appreciating the impactful work of RDIF, Harivansh noted that Saurabh Singh's commitment, compassion, and perseverance have helped bring the concerns of the rare disease community to the forefront of public awareness and policymaking.
 

He emphasized that the voices of MPS and other rare disease patients must be heard at the highest levels of governance and that collective efforts are needed to ensure dignity, care, and hope for every affected family.

Delivering the convocation address, Jharkhand Governor Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar described the convocation as a celebration not only of academic achievement but also of the graduates' future contribution to society. Reflecting on the vision of the institution's founders, he noted that education and healthcare are powerful instruments for social transformation and emphasized the importance of creating a strong foundation for a healthier and more equitable society.

The Governor reminded the graduates that medicine is not merely a profession but a mission of service to humanity. He observed that while advances in artificial intelligence, robotics, and modern healthcare technologies are transforming medical practice, the essence of healthcare remains rooted in empathy, trust, and human connection.

Joining this august moment virtually Shri Irfan Ansari, Hon’ble Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare, Government of Jharkhand, said, “Our job is not limited to providing medical care to our patients. It also extends to advocating for them, earning their trust and to be a safe, serious and humanitarian support system for them in their hour of need. It is your responsibility to reassure your patients that they have a chance at a fulfilling and healthy life once they exit your care.”

Addressing the graduating students, Shri Vijay Kumar urged the young medical professionals to pursue their vocation with passion, integrity, and a lifelong commitment to learning. Emphasizing that healthcare is a collective endeavor, he highlighted the vital role of teamwork among doctors, nurses, paramedics, and support staff in delivering quality patient care.

Open House 2026 at Anant National University Showcases Design Beyond Aesthetics and Decoration 

Bringing together participants from diverse cities and academic backgrounds, the second edition was designed to help students understand design not merely as aesthetics or decoration, but as a discipline rooted in critical thinking, systems understanding, innovation and problem-solving. Through direct engagement with Anant’s academic ecosystem, participants experienced how design education can shape meaningful responses to contemporary challenges, for India and the world.

Attended by close to 400 students and parents, the Open House offered students a first-hand understanding of design education at Anant. Through hands-on workshops led by more than 30 Anant faculty, studio walkthroughs and engagement with mentors and peers, participants experienced how ideas evolve and how concepts lead to prototypes and solutions in real-world contexts.

The Open House also offered participants insights into Anant’s flexible, future-focused academic approach, which integrates design with sustainability, technology, research and interdisciplinary learning. Specially curated discussions also helped them understand the various career pathways and career opportunities that design offers. 

Parents of the participants, too, engaged enthusiastically throughout the experience, gaining a deeper understanding of the scope, relevance and career potential of design education. By creating opportunities for meaningful dialogue and interaction, the initiative helped families make more informed academic decisions while building greater awareness around the expanding possibilities within the design discipline.

Additionally, Anant alumni actively engaged with the participants, sharing their academic and professional journeys after graduating from the University. Goa’s history, music, traditions, and cultural spirit came alive at Galgotias University as students celebrated Goa Statehood Day through performances, storytelling, and visual art

Known for its unique blend of Indian and Portuguese influences, Goa occupies a distinctive place in India’s cultural landscape. From its folk traditions, music, architecture, cuisine, and coastal communities to its festivals, artistic legacy, and layered social history, Goa represents a meeting point of multiple civilisational and cultural influences. The celebration at Galgotias University attempted to bring these dimensions alive for students through music, theatre, dance, visual storytelling, and performances inspired by the state’s cultural identity.

The event was graced by Mr. Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, Former Chief Secretary, Goa, along with his wife. The occasion began with a traditional Goan Khordu welcome, introducing audiences to a ceremonial gesture closely associated with Goan hospitality and community traditions.

One of the highlights of the event was a specially curated documentary on Goa created by the School of Media and Communication Studies at Galgotias University. Showcased during the celebrations, the documentary traced Goa’s journey across centuries, touching upon early historical references, the Kadamba and Vijayanagara influences, temple traditions and architectural evolution, the Portuguese colonial period, Operation Vijay, and Goa’s eventual Statehood. Through archival references, visuals, narration, music, and storytelling, the film attempted to present Goa not merely as a tourist destination but as a region shaped by history, resistance, migration, faith, language, and cultural exchange. The presentation was warmly received by attendees and became one of the most discussed segments of the programme.

The auditorium came alive through a series of performances presented by students from the Music Club, Dance Club, and Actors Hub. Music, dance, theatre, and stage performances inspired by Goan and contemporary cultural themes filled the venue with rhythm, movement, humour, and audience participation. From musical renditions such as Maria Pitache and Memories to choreographed performances and theatrical segments, students brought different fragments of Goan and contemporary performance culture onto the stage.

The programme also reflected the scale of student involvement behind the scenes. Students participated across scripting, editing, stage coordination, anchoring, costume planning, performances, and documentary production in the days leading up to the event, turning the celebration into a collaborative cultural production exercise.

Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO, Galgotias University, reflected on Goa’s distinctive cultural and historical identity during the celebration. He said, “Goa carries a cultural personality unlike any other part of India. Its music, architecture, churches, temples, food traditions, coastal communities, and social life reflect centuries of cultural exchange and historical evolution. The School of Media and Communication Studies at Galgotias University has built a strong focus on practical and industry-oriented media education and has been recognised among the leading private media institutions by India Today for promoting practical and field-based learning. The School combines classroom learning with studio exposure, production-based training, industrial visits, internships, newsroom interaction, masterclasses, and hands-on project work designed to strengthen storytelling, editorial thinking, production capability, and communication skills across evolving media formats.

The initiative also sought to advance Fair Play education across schools and universities with recommendations for integrating Fair Play into the National Education Policy (NEP 2020). Experts also discussed fostering international cooperation and encourage the integration of values such as respect, solidarity and ethical conduct into youth development and community programmes. Further, establishment of a National Fair Play Committee of India to coordinate Fair Play programmes, research, education, and policy advocacy was a key discussion.

The initiative was conceptualised with the support of Ms Yamini Kumar Jaipuria, Managing Trustee, Cosmo Foundation, who has been actively associated with international Fair Play initiatives. This was then organised in collaboration with the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Sports Foundation and endorsed by the International Fair Play Committee (CIFP). The symposium marked one of the first large-scale World Fair Play Day celebrations in India and aimed to deepen India’s engagement with the global Fair Play movement while encouraging stronger collaboration among educational, sporting and social institutions.

In her special address, Ms Yamini Kumar Jaipuria, Managing Trustee Cosmo Foundation and Whole-time Director (Corporate Strategy, ESG and CSR), Cosmo First said, “Fair play is a universal language. Top political leaders, policy makers, and creators gathered to map out the state's future. Right at the centre of the conversation was ASBL, a key part of the conclave from start to finish, joining the panel discussions, backing the event's vision, and standing out as one of the strongest voices on Hyderabad's growth story. By the close of the evening, ASBL was also awarded with 'Most Innovative Builder of the Decade.' But the spotlight, fittingly, stayed on the CM, who used the stage to lay out exactly where Telangana is heading.

On Hyderabad's real estate, the CM spoke with absolute confidence. He made it clear that while the market has shown a lot of progress, it has barely scratched the surface of its true potential. The city is ready to move at a much faster pace. While global shifts like changing economies or the rise of AI are altering how people work and live, Hyderabad is built to handle it. Over the last seven years, the city's real estate has only moved upward, a fact strongly backed by official reports from the CAG, NITI Aayog, and the GST department. For the CM, this past growth is just a small preview; the real story is the massive, untapped future that Hyderabad is now ready to unlock.

When asked about the apparent slowdown in the current real estate market and investments, the CM addressed the online noise directly. He stated simply "people putting investment into propaganda, writing lies themselves and believing them."

Pointing to the Financial District, he said, the area has become a major global hub because the government focused on providing top-tier infrastructure, allowing private builders to do what they do best and creating a space where top global companies want to invest. Today, nearly 10 lakh people work there. Highlighting the incredible demand in the micro-market, he noted that land in nearby Raidurg's Knowledge Park recently sold for a record INR 184 crore per acre. The lesson, he said, is simple: the government’s core job is to deliver excellent foundational infrastructure like the metro, high-speed highways, and seamless airport connectivity, which gives investors and builders the confidence to develop the city.

Bharat Future City, his boldest move, the CM spoke about a brand new 30,000-acre city coming up near Hyderabad. No Indian state, he said, has tried building a full new city at this scale. Earlier projects like the Financial District were just 400 to 500 acres. Future City, he believes, can stand alongside New York, Tokyo, and Singapore.

On connectivity, the plans are big. A 12-lane expressway and rail line will link Future City to Machilipatnam port, located on the coast of the Bay of Bengal. And of the seven new bullet trains being rolled out by the Centre, three are coming to Telangana with Hyderabad as the hub, linking Hyderabad to Bengaluru, Chennai, and Mumbai.

The bigger picture stayed with him throughout. Telangana has just 3% of India's population but already contributes 5% of GDP. He wants that to double to 10%, and push the state's economy past USD 1 trillion by 2034. Hyderabad and the real estate ecosystem around it sits right at the centre of that push.

Vivek Dube interacted with students at the Galgotias Dialogue Series, where young minds engage with leaders, thinkers, and changemakers

Organised by Galgotias Career Connect, a student-led club focused on industry interaction, leadership engagement, and career awareness, the session was held as part of the Galgotias Dialogue Series, a platform through which students engage with distinguished thinkers, policymakers, public leaders, entrepreneurs, administrators, and professionals from diverse fields to develop broader perspectives beyond classroom learning. The interaction witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across disciplines and evolved into a candid exchange shaped by questions, reflections, and experiences from Shri Dube’s distinguished four-decade-long career in public service.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Vivek Dube spoke about the evolution of policing in India, tracing developments from the Police Act introduced after 1857 to the transition from the Imperial Police to the Indian Police Service. He explained the role of the police in maintaining law and order, legal procedures related to crime investigation, and the challenges involved in crowd management and public safety in a complex and rapidly changing society.

He also reflected on the broader justice ecosystem, describing police, judiciary, and prisons as three interconnected pillars that must function with fairness and accountability to uphold justice while protecting innocent citizens. The discussion further touched upon terrorism, national security, leadership under pressure, and the importance of honesty and integrity in both professional and personal life.

The session became especially engaging during the interactive segment where students asked questions on leadership, UPSC preparation, motivation, emotional resilience, and balancing personal emotions with professional duty. Responding to these questions, Shri Dube advised students to recognise their strengths, remain disciplined, and pursue excellence with determination rather than becoming distracted by criticism or external validation. He also emphasised the importance of physical fitness, mental well-being, and time management in sustaining long-term professional success.

During his interaction, Shri Vivek Dube expressed appreciation for the sprawling campus and academic ecosystem being developed at Galgotias University and said he was particularly impressed by the enthusiasm, curiosity, and active participation of students during the session. He noted that institutions play an important role not only in imparting technical education but also in shaping responsible citizens and future leaders through conversations around ethics, leadership, governance, and public service.

Further, Lt. Gen. D.V. Kalra and Mr. Amit Mittal were formally co-opted as Members of the Governing Body of BRICS CCI during the proceedings of the Annual General Meeting.

Collectively, the newly constituted Governing Body brings together eminent leaders and professionals from diverse sectors including trade, finance, diplomacy, healthcare, sustainability, entrepreneurship, governance, strategic affairs, and international cooperation. The Chamber believes this collective leadership will further strengthen BRICS CCI’s institutional vision and enhance its role as a global platform for economic dialogue, multilateral cooperation, policy engagement, and cross-border partnerships.

Mr. Sameep Shastri formally assumed office as Chairman of BRICS CCI following the Oath Taking Ceremony. Having previously served as Vice Chairman of the Chamber for six years, he has played a pivotal role in strengthening BRICS CCI’s international outreach, youth leadership initiatives, and strategic partnerships. Under the new leadership, the Chamber aims to expand its engagement across emerging economies, industry sectors, innovation ecosystems, and people-to-people collaborations.

The newly elected leadership team is expected to further accelerate BRICS CCI’s efforts towards fostering trade, investment, sustainability partnerships, entrepreneurship, innovation, policy advocacy, and institutional cooperation among BRICS nations and partner countries.

Delhi NCR’s Most Loved Summer Camp Returns at Ambience Malls in Vasant Kunj & Gurugram

Scheduled from 29th May to 7th June 2026, the 10-day edutainment camp will welcome children aged 5 to 12 years for an engaging mix of creativity, learning, entertainment and interactive experiences, all within a safe indoor environment.

Now in its 9th successful year, We Love Summer has emerged as a sought-after summer destination for families across Delhi NCR, bringing together a thoughtfully curated line-up of activities including robotics, science-based learning, theatre, dance, sports, music, Smartivity workshops and other creative engagement modules.

The camp is designed to encourage holistic development through experiential learning while ensuring children enjoy meaningful social interaction, creativity and entertainment during their summer break.
