Medigo AI-powered health screening robot for preventive healthcare screening

Built and engineered in India, Medigo Robot introduces a scalable healthcare robotic solution designed to support early detection and routine health monitoring. Preventive healthcare depends on early and reliable screening, yet access to screening infrastructure remains limited across many regions. The round was led by Navam Capital, with participation from BYT Capital. The funds will be deployed to accelerate product development, strengthen field validation, and support international expansion.

Founded in 2020 by Ishan Bhatnagar and Gulshan Kumar, Octobotics develops AI-enabled, vertically integrated Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) robotics platforms engineered for harsh environments across industrial and rail applications.

The company currently serves leading organisations including the Indian Navy, IOCL, Saudi S-Chem, BPCL, HPCL, Aarti Industries, and GSFC, and recorded Rs. 2 crore in annual revenue in the last fiscal year.

The visit assumes particular significance in the backdrop of the Union Budget presented post Operation Sindoor, which has accorded Defence Services an unprecedented allocation of INR 7.85 lakh crore for FY 2026–27. This represents 2% of the estimated GDP for the coming financial year and reflects a 15.19% increase over the Budget Estimates of FY 2025–26. In line with this approach, the Ministry of Defence has further strengthened its policy framework by earmarking INR 1.39 lakh crore—nearly 75% of the Capital Acquisition budget—for procurement from domestic industries in FY 2026–27. Such targeted budgetary support reassures Indian manufacturers about long-term demand visibility, encourages fresh investments, and enables domestic players to assume a progressively larger role in the capability development of the Armed Forces.

With nearly 28% of the total defence allocation directed towards capital expenditure, upcoming acquisition programmes are expected to cover next-generation fighter aircraft, smart and lethal weapons, ships and submarines, unmanned aerial vehicles, drones, and specialised platforms. In this evolving procurement landscape, companies such as Parashar Future Defence Technologies are increasingly positioned as credible MSME partners, capable of delivering agile, technology-driven indigenous solutions aligned with future operational needs.

The visit also highlighted Haryana’s emergence as an important node in India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem, supported by a strong industrial base, skilled workforce, and improving infrastructure. The car was unveiled during Vietnam’s 80th National Day celebrations in Hanoi. Two models stood at the center of the Vietnam Exposition Center - one pristine, the other scarred by testing. The second carried the marks of 440 live bullets and 11 controlled explosions, endured during testing at Germany’s Beschussamt Ulm facility. The results confirmed that the vehicle could withstand fire from military-grade rifles such as the AK-47 and M14, and survive detonations from DM51 grenades and mines placed beneath its floor and roof.

Underneath nearly five tons of armor, two electric motors deliver a combined 455 horsepower and propel the vehicle from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in under ten seconds. Despite the weight, the Lạc Hồng remains composed and quiet, its dual-motor layout providing balanced traction and stability. The run flat tires allow continued travel for up to 80 kilometers after being punctured, while optional systems, such as air filtration, automated fire suppression, satellite communication, and emergency sirens, enable the car to function as a true “mobile fortress.”

Meeting VR7 required more than adding armor. VinFast’s engineers redesigned the vehicle’s frame and battery enclosure to absorb shock without electrical failure, balancing structural rigidity and weight distribution through months of simulation and field testing.

Yet the Lac Hong 900 LX does not rely on technology alone. Its design carries deep cultural meaning. The grille pattern, inspired by Vietnam’s bamboo and Đông Sơn bronze drums, blends traditional motifs with modern geometry. A gold-plated Lạc bird, a national emblem, sits on the hood. Inside, Golden Nanmu wood, once used in imperial palaces, lines the cabin beside hand-stitched Nappa leather and 24-karat-gold-plated details. The rear lounge compartment, separated by a soundproof glass partition, features reclining seats with heating, cooling, and memory functions. Every surface, from air vents to door trims, reflects Vietnamese craftsmanship executed to international luxury standards.

Automotive experts in Vietnam regard the model as “a declaration of capability.” Achieving VPAM VR7 places VinFast’s creation alongside vehicles like the Mercedes-Maybach S600 Guard, BMW 7 Series Protection, and Cadillac One used by heads of state. According to Nguyễn Hoàng Lâm, a senior automotive safety researcher at the Vietnam Automobile Engineering Institute who has worked on crash-resistance and certification programs, this level of compliance “demands precision only certain manufacturers can achieve.”

The armored version is derived from VinFast’s VF 9 SUV platform but heavily modified: its chassis extended by 20 centimeters and the third row removed to create a spacious executive cabin. Every section of the body, including door frames and roof joints, was re-engineered for load-bearing armor. The electric motors were recalibrated to handle the increased mass, while the 123-kWh battery pack was reinforced to resist deformation and thermal shock.

Beyond performance, the Lac Hong 900 LX reflects Vietnam’s expanding industrial ecosystem. The collaboration with INKAS brought global expertise in composite armor, while VinFast’s automated plant in Hải Phòng supplied precision assembly under strict digital monitoring.

Twelve units - two armored and ten standard - have been delivered to Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs for official duties, marking the first time international dignitaries are transported in domestically produced vehicles built to global protection standards.

To observers, the Lac Hong 900 LX signals Vietnam’s growing self-confidence in advanced manufacturing. In less than a decade, VinFast has evolved from newcomer to an automaker capable of meeting the world’s strictest ballistic and electronic-safety benchmarks.

The achievement also mirrors a regional shift. Across Asia, countries such as India and Indonesia are strengthening their domestic EV sectors. Vietnam’s success shows that with coordination, investment, and purpose, emerging economies can achieve technological parity faster than expected.

For VinFast, the armored EV is not an endpoint but a foundation. Its lessons in structural reinforcement, crash management, and secure energy storage will influence future consumer and commercial models. And by creating an armored electric vehicle that protects lives and reflects national identity, VinFast joins a rare group of Asian automakers shaping the next era of safe, sustainable mobility.

In the first three quarters of 2025 alone, VinFast sold more than 100,000 vehicles, a first in Vietnam’s automotive history

The move fits neatly into Vingroup’s five-pillar model: Industrials & Technology with VinFast and VinMetal; Real Estate & Services with Vinhomes and Vinpearl; Infrastructure through VinSpeed; Energy via VinEnergo; and Social Enterprises with Vinmec, Vinschool, and VinUni. This approach has turned Vingroup from a real estate developer into Vietnam’s largest private conglomerate. Inside Vingroup’s developments, residents can buy VinFast cars at a discounted rate, park them conveniently, and charge them for free. Engineers at the group’s tech labs developed ViVi, a Vietnamese voice assistant now found in VinFast cars. VinEnergo provides clean energy for the factories. VinMetal will soon supply the steel for the next generation of vehicles. VinRobotics designs automation systems for production. Each company contributes a piece of the puzzle.

In 2024, VinFast sold over 67,000 electric vehicles, making Vietnam one of the few markets where EVs outsold petrol cars. In the first three quarters of 2025 alone, VinFast sold more than 100,000 vehicles, a first in Vietnam’s automotive history. It remained the country’s best-selling brand for nearly a year. That scale and speed capture how Vingroup approaches industries it considers vital.

Recognition has followed. In 2025, TIME magazine named Vingroup one of the World’s Best Companies, the first Vietnamese firm to appear on the list. The honor reflected not only business results but also employee satisfaction and long-term vision.

Additionally, it appears that this area of surgery is not only growing but also expanding into various other surgical specialties and professions. Initially, robotic systems were developed and applied primarily in abdominal and pelvic surgical procedures. However, their use has now extended to fields such as orthopaedics, neurosurgery, and cardiovascular surgery etc. Robots are used in the orthopaedic procedures like total knee arthroplasty and lumbar decompression in which robotic systems are helpful in joint replacements and spinal surgeries. In gynaecology, there is use of robotic in major surgery such as hysterectomy and myomectomy. In urology, it plays a big role in prostatectomy as well as kidney surgery. Robotic techniques applied in general surgery are useful in complicated operations such as hernia, bowel resections among others. Both specialities integrate robotic technology to increase the level of accuracy, the rate of the recovery, and the overall success rate. For instance, the application of robotic assistance in spine surgery is experiencing significant growth at present.

This advancement is particularly beneficial as it reduces the likelihood of errors in surgical screw placement and minimises the radiation exposure that both the patient and the surgical team encounter during procedures. Early experiences that have surfaced include the anticipation that this type of robotic surgical work could have benefits such as reduced blood loss, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery times for patients.

BetaTANK' Robot for crude oil storage tank bottom sludge cleaning

The company has already prototyped two robotic solutions so far - (1) For cleaning bottom sludge of large crude oil storage tanks in refineries and (2) To clean retail outlet underground tanks. The crude oil tank robot is in an advanced stage of safety approvals and launch. As per DC Sekhar, this robot is superior to available technologies worldwide on two counts i.e its compact size, enabling it to move under heating coils and secondly having a pump on the robot. This pump discharge pressure is more effective in moving thick sludge, as compared to prevailing approach of vacuuming the oil sludge using a vacuum truck. 

As per DC Sekhar, his main focus remains to de-risk the human risks in tank cleaning operations for the petrochemical industry. The faster tank cleaning turnaround using robots is just the collateral benefit.

Operators of petrochemical tankages traditionally employ manual resources for tank de-mucking. This exposes the maintenance personnel to tremendous safety risks due to presence of toxic gases. Use of Robotics enables eliminate this human risk.

The start up is headed by DC Sekhar, a former Merchant Navy oil tanker captain himself, with extensive experience in cleaning ship's oil tanks.

This class of robots is powered and controlled by hydraulics. The operator manoeuvres the Robot while sitting on a control panel placed outside the tank, and monitoring the robot through a CCTV camera.  

As per DC Sekhar, few features made this technology stand out among its contemporaries around the world, developing the first generation robotic solutions for Petrochemical tanks.

Firstly, this Robot has been made very compact, to crawl under the heating coils that is normally found in such tanks.

Secondly, this robot has a small length of suction and uses a powerful pump on the robot itself, to pump out viscous sludge from the tank. Models using pumps outside the tank to ‘suck’ viscous medium over long pipe lengths are very inefficient.  

DC Sekhar shared his bullish outlook for the future, as many oil companies have contacted this start up with various needs for robotic cleaning solutions. These range from cleaning small chemical tanks with small tank openings, to cleaning sludge deposits inside large pipelines. Sekhar is very confident of addressing each of these requirements.

Currently the company has two product lines - one to clean black oil storage tank bottom sludge, and secondly water washing the insides of retail outlet underground tanks.  

Sekhar shared that he himself has worked inside merchant ship’s oil tanks extensively, as an officer and later as Captain of such large tanker ships. He decided to develop robotic solutions for this application while working inside these tanks almost three decades ago. He could fulfil his dream only now, thanks to the support extended by M/s Oil India Ltd.

With the unique initiative ‘Build Your First Robot’, BMC Software aims to empower 250 government school female students in Pune with the emerging technology skills required to increase their employability and bridge the gender divide. Oakridger Riddhima and her physiotherapy robot ARMsio

The International Youth Robotics Competition is a coveted platform that encourages the creativity and analytical thinking of the next generation globally. Organized by International Youth Robot Association based in Seoul, South Korea, it facilitates an opportunity for students to showcase their innovative projects. The event saw students participating from over 10 countries like Thailand, Russia, Malaysia, among many others.

Influenced by her personal experience of finding just the right physiotherapist while incurring injuries during her dance practice, she developed an automated robot that helps in physiotherapy and other rehabilitation needs. In this ingenious invention, the robotic arm is strapped to the arm of a patient using a velcro strap, the robot then initiates movement in the patient's arm at regular intervals.

A medical aspirant and a Kuchipudi dancer, donning multiple hats, Riddhima shares, “The introductory Robotics classes in the school helped me build my interest in robotics. I combined this with my passion for medicine. Being a dancer, I always saw the need for the right physiotherapy help in case of any injury. I decided to solve the problem by combining both my interests. I am truly happy to have received the recognition for the same through the platform of the International Youth Robotics Competition.”

Vaibhav Ghadiok

His latest work has applications in building smarter cities and modernizing and optimizing traffic management that will have an impact on millions of people. He is currently working with major US state governments to implement this technology with plans to expand globally.

Ghadiok leads a team of 30 talented scientists and engineers that has architected a camera-based perception platform that can be deployed in city fleets such as transit buses and garbage trucks for automated traffic and parking management. The perception system builds a rich 3D semantic map of its environment identifying objects such as lane lines, parking meters, traffic signs, fire hydrants, sidewalks, and crosswalks. With each successive pass it refines this map and updates it. Armed with this map and running deep-learning-based computer vision algorithms, the system automatically detects and identifies violations such as illegally parked vehicles in bus lanes. Reducing such violations allows buses to move faster.

This technology enables effective enforcement addressing one of the major criticisms of past bus lane programs. Improved bus speed leads to faster commute times and increased ridership. Expressing his view on this, Vaibhav Ghadiok said, “Our technology will improve the efficiency of public transportation, reduce carbon emissions and make cities more sustainable and connected. This will have a massive positive impact on millions of lives by improving the human experience.” As cities such as Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai reconsider adopting dedicated bus lanes, technology developed by Ghadiok will play a key role in their successful implementation.

Hayden AI bridges the innovation gap in traffic management by combining artificial intelligence with mobile sensors that have the ability to see and reason in 3D. Co-founders ANSCER Robotics at the launch of Next-Gen AMRs at India Warehousing Show, New Delhi

The post-pandemic, physical expo presented an opportunity for people across India in sectors such as warehousing, logistics, and general manufacturing to learn how to strengthen their supply chain in a tumultuous world. AI Surveillance in action at the entry of a port

Introducing the concept of first-of-its-kind artificially intelligent security and surveillance systems to India, this venture is expected to focus on ports, railway stations, airports, offshore sites, critical plants, traffic management, and various public places.

Through a combination of inter-connected IoT hardware systems, the solution is able to identify threats or anomalies and predict or simulate the future, with recommendations on actions to thwart the threats of all types, human or system. Data driven artificial intelligence is used to extract information, analyze and recommend policies for future monitoring, including suggestions on resource optimization and planning.

A statement from the venture says, “COVID-19 has created a new world, where surveillance needs to be augmented by new age technologies. Security needs to be strengthened with deep learning capabilities empowering the human resources. Our systems include intelligent video processing systems, decision support systems, predictive intelligence, image processing systems, GPRS trackers, and domain specific surveillance algorithms. Our modular offerings are already active in Europe, USA and South America, and with India-specific intelligence, we are now entering India.”

Access control, queue management and monitoring of people in public places is expected to increase in the post-pandemic world. “Artificial intelligence and other new age technologies offered by Sapio Analytics shall augment the outputs of these systems and help create government policies around better people monitoring and surveillance,” adds the statement.

Artificially Intelligent Surveillance is the major solution by this venture backed by the Law Enforcement and Intelligence division of Sapio Analytics, which is led by Dr. B S Tiwary, former Director of Civil Aviation Security and a Principal Advisor to Sapio Analytics.

While airplane, helicopters, rockets, space-ships were invented during the 20^th century made it possible for humans to experience flying, the control of flying is still considered a specialized/ professional skill, acquired after a lot of practice, not everyone can experience that. Science fiction writers still dreamt of a future where individual can fly whenever they want, take off from wherever they want, go wherever they wish to… still seems like a far-away dream.

Not anymore! Drones are here now. Allowing common people, including young kids to experience how to control a flying object. Flying is literally becoming a kid’s play!

In recent years, Cinema introduced many of us to Drones, whether it was a scene from the ‘3Idiots’ movie where Amir khan completes the ‘Drone’ project for one of his batch-mate or a scene from Spiderman movie in which drones were attacking Spiderman. All of it added to an element of excitement, something straight out of science fiction which seems to become a reality in front of our eyes, it created a halo effect around the gadget itself.

Huge corporations like Amazon and Google are testing ways to deliver packages with drones. Facebook is using drones to provide Internet connections in remote locations. And there’s even a start-up that’s using unmanned aircraft to deliver tacos to your door.

And when I got my Drone on my birthday, I felt like I am on top of the world. It was the best gift I got from my dad. I became an instant hit amongst my friends. The drone was like a magical device for me, and I used to feel like Superman, who can watch anyone from the sky. Gradually, my friends also got their drones, and that feeling of having something unique started fading away. I got involved in studies and almost forgot about the Drone until the Pandemic hit us last year.

Social distancing restrictions during the Pandemic put Drones into the spotlight. We all started talking about leveraging Drones for helping people; Contactless deliveries, providing medical supplies to remote areas, and whatnot. It was like my little Drone is growing up from being a mere toy and becoming a real hero to help humanity. Possibilities were endless, and I wanted to be a part of this journey.

Technically, Drone is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that was primarily used in the military for strikes, surveillance, and carrying ammunition. About thirty percent of drones across the world have non-military uses in commercial, scientific, recreational, agricultural and other fields.

Some areas where drones can be highly instrumental:

• Healthcare: Drones can be used to collect blood samples and deliver medicines, especially in a geographically diverse country like India, where travel by road is often not the fastest. Mountains with treacherous roads, dense forests, and flooded areas are places where the sick have difficulty accessing healthcare. Drones will be able to save critical time and, eventually, lives. Transport of organs from a donor to a recipient through cities with heavy traffic is again one of those cases that will benefit significantly from drone deliveries. 

• Agriculture: Drones can be used for aerial surveys to collect data about the soil, monitor crop health, spray fertilizer, and analyze the weather. Paired with a camera and computer vision, this could enable a fast tracing of diseases and save time and money for the farmers.

• Disaster management (Rescue and relief): The most impairing aspect of a disaster is the inability to reach people because of roads being damaged. Drones can be used to survey areas, send live information about trapped people, drop supplies to remote places, and help plan rescue operations. 

• Entertainment: Drones are used for several creative renditions already, shooting long sweeping shots for landscapes, marriage photography, movies and tv-series.

• Conservation: Unmanned aircrafts are being used to monitor endangered species and map the changes in various ecosystems around the globe. As drone technology advances, the use and impact of unmanned aircraft in conservation efforts will expand

In India, the social distancing between citizens was monitored using drones in Asia’s biggest vegetable market - Azad Mandi, Delhi. Tamil Nadu became the first Indian state to use drones for a sanitization campaign that will have 300 drones and 500 drone pilots to sanitize the roads, metros, and hospitals across the state. According to a release by Agriculture Ministry, “India is the first country to control locust by using drones after finalizing the protocols and getting all statutory approvals. Major operations are concentrated in Rajasthan where maximum resources are committed.”

While there are so many ways in which Drones can help humanity with its ability to go to places that are difficult for a person to reach and the ability to zoom in and see things in detail and so the technology has several downsides too. Substantial drawbacks we can think of are encroaching, security threats, individual’s privacy and liberties, vulnerability to nature/animals/weather and risk of injuries. 

The primary concern with the usage of drones is their ability to collect information discreetly, exposing all of us to several forms of privacy breaches. Drones operated irresponsibly continue to pose a threat to public safety. We have heard many instances in past where unregulated drones were used as a medium to supply drugs, currencies and small weapons. In view to which many countries do have very strict and dangerous laws for the use of Drones and others are mending ways for an equipment that can be used as an intrusion detection for drone systems.

Drones are still expected to play an active role and these drawbacks could be eliminated in the near future and that possibly would carry out the tasks it has been designed for. 

The way technology is becoming an enabler and facilitator for making our dreams come true. From a military innovation, to an exciting hobby, to a technology that’s transforming commercial industries, the use of drones has rapidly changed over the past years - and future opportunities in the field are limitless.

I am very sure that the day is not far where Drones will become an acceptable part of human life and lifestyle.

A large-scale evaluation of his mindset, behavior and persona has been created, to create an artificially intelligent bot based on his thinking, immortalizing him in the process.

The bot shall be launched as part of a healthcare ecosystem, that also conceptualizes a network of interconnected hospitals and healthcare centers through both physical and virtual technologies.
 

“While working with remote areas in Maharashtra, our partners realised that building a world class hospital was not enough, because despite creation of a smart hospital in the area, the patients were not visiting the same. With Tele training helplines and WhatsApp bots in place, they also decided to take a leap of faith in creative technology - specifically Augmented Reality.

For the pandemic, Shreiya has been leading all creative technology efforts which started with being the lead technical designer and producer for the Augmented Reality applications for nurses.

Shreiya, along with a team of UX/UI designers and developers, created their pioneer Augmented Reality product “PPE Trainer”, which taught nurses how to wear, manage, and remove PPE suits in the right sequence and process- all while simply interacting with a 3D figure to explain and test the process on. With its positive feedback, in the duration of this one year she worked with Noora Health to also adopt 3D messaging as well as interactive videos which were made for United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) as a part of their non-profit work.

Sharing about her journey so far, the creative technologist said, “I have given two TEDx talks on my work in the field of creative technology to audiences of students and professionals both. Being an artist and self-taught programmer and designer, I have been an educator in New York City teaching children and adolescents at the School of Visual Art, the GIANT Room, and the Rubin Museum, on how to adopt emerging technology and its tools to provide a multisensory approach to an experience. Soon after, I founded my own company in India to use art, technology, and design as an aid to digitally archive India’s heritage and culture.”

Her company ‘Taabro Pedagogy’ curates Mixed Reality experiences that visualise oral histories belonging to historical monuments such as the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, India or their current work with the Rambagh Palace in Jaipur, India. Their mission is to recreate forgotten pasts using 3D tools and allow users to travel back in time to meet and experience India's grand heritage that gets lost between palatial walls.

During the pandemic, Creative Technology saw incremental usage specifically in art spaces, since art galleries were no longer accessible. In India, its rise can be seen with a web-accessible 3D virtual art exhibit called “Virtual Segments” by Round them Oranges.

As technical designer of the exhibit, Shreiya explained, “With the pandemic not allowing us to step out of our homes, we wanted to translate a real life experience from the very successful 2020 RTO Art Book Depot held at a 300-year-old Haveli to an equally captivating and engaging digital event. And now, after months of hard work, blood, sweat, and tears- there's a simple website you can access which allows you to view and explore digital artworks which are both 2D and 3D, all nestled in different nooks and corners of a 3D structure which is a completely accurate recreation of the original structure. So what we've created is an incredibly accessible 3D virtual gallery representing Indian artists right at the heart of where some of their crafts and techniques were born. It currently exists as a web experience, and will soon be available on VR for higher definition."

COVID-19 and Challenges

The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 exacerbated existing challenges and exposed new vulnerabilities for manufacturers around the world. 

The serious disruption to supply chains, sudden material shortages, and steep swings in demand left manufacturers grappling with changes. Labour-intensive manufacturing has been hit painfully by the regional governments' COVID-19 measures of extended lockdowns and social distancing. Surmounting challenges with innovation
Cobots have been the perfect nimble tool for many innovative applications throughout the world, and especially in an emerging ASEAN markets where the adoption rates of cobots and other industrial robots have been steadily outpacing the established Western markets. This is especially since Universal Robots' cobots do not require professional engineers or software developers to utilise the cobots, anyone with an ability to operating a simple graphical tablet will be able to command and control such cobots after some basic training.

For example, cobots have found their way into medical applications because of the COVID-19 crisis, with applications such as swab testing, sterilisation, and mobilised disinfection, including the disinfection of aircraft seat arm rests to alleviate the possibility of repetitive strain injuries or even infections in humans.

Cobots have also ensured business continuity in India. Multinational PC-manufacturer Dell saw a huge increase in demands for laptops as work-from-home and online schooling suddenly surged. With the help of multiple cobots in their assembly lines, Dell was able to meet these increased demands while also ensuring social distancing on the shop floor, with humans and cobots working together. Even smaller businesses like Krishi Group, a Bangalore-based SME supplying irrigation equipment, was able to use their cobot to meet the demands of farmers, despite operating with only 50-60% of their usual staff.
