New Delhi, Delhi, India EPCES joins hands with WICS and EIG to showcase a unique event to bring all facets of Special Economic Zones under one roof.
Quick Facts
Globally, there are over 5,000 SEZs operating across 145 different countries, covering a range of industries. India is one of the early proponents to recognise the role of SEZs in enhancing manufacturing for the domestic market and for exports, attracting investment and technology, as well as creating jobs, joint ventures, supply chains and specialised clusters in the country. Presently, there are 231 SEZs in India developed by the Union government, Indian States and private players.
GEZ Expo and Convention 2019
The Export Promotion Council for EOUs & SEZs (EPCES) has collaborated with Wbf International Centre Services (WICS) to organise the first ever Global Economic Zones (GEZ) Expo & Convention 2019, to be held at The Ashok, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, from 27-29 March 2019. The event is managed by Exhibitions India Group (EIG), a highly professional company with over 30 years’ experience in trade shows.
Shri Prem Behl, Chairman, Exhibitions India Group said, “The Indian economy has transformed into a vibrant, rapidly growing market, led by a strong middle class with increased purchasing power. The business and regulatory environment is constantly evolving on the back of measures introduced by the Government on India over the past few years to liberalise the market and integrate it with the global economy. Particularly, Special Economic Zones provide the best of infrastructure and logistical support that confer an ideal environment for companies to expand their manufacturing capabilities and reach out to a larger domestic audience or, even better, penetrate into international markets.”
EPCES has been set up by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, to service the export promotional needs of EOUs & SEZs in the country. It has a clear mandate to attract investment in SEZs (including FDI) and to market Indian SEZs abroad in order to attract units to SEZs. EPCES represents major industrial sectors, like textiles, garments & yarn, gem & jewellery, leather goods, food & agro products, electronics & software, pharmaceuticals & chemicals, engineering, minerals, granites & other stones, plastic & rubber goods, etc. EPCES is the only scheme-specific and multi-products exports promotion council.
