State Bank of India Observes ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’

State Bank of India observed “Vigilance Awareness Week” from 27th October to 01st November 2014. To mark the occasion, a function was organized at the Bank’s Corporate Centre in Mumbai on 01st November 2014.

 

In her opening remarks, Smt. Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairman, State Bank of India deliberated upon the need for eliminating corruption from all the walks of life, including the Bank. She spoke about the various steps taken by the Bank by using technology as an enabler to combat corruption in the Bank. She also released a magazine titled “Vigilance Bulletin – 2014” brought out on the occasion by the Vigilance Department of the Bank.

 

Shri R. Sri Kumar, (IPS (Retired) and former Vigilance Commissioner, the Chief Guest, addressed the senior functionaries of the Bank. He spoke in detail on the topic of “Vigilance Awareness Week” this year i.e. “Combating Corruption – Technology as an Enabler”. He shared his views on the issue and apprised the participants about the initiatives taken by the Central Vigilance Commission and the Government to combat corruption by using technology. In the end, Shri P. J. Joy, Chief Vigilance Officer, State Bank of India thanked the Chief Guest, the Chairman and other senior functionaries of the Bank for making the occasion a success.
