MAWINGU Service Calls at Mundra International Container Terminal

Mundra International Container Terminal (MICT) today celebrated the commencement of yet another Maersk Line’s service – MAWINGU. This weekly service will connect Nhava Sheva, Mundra to the Middle East and East Africa.

The first vessel to call at MICT under MAWINGU service was Hansa America. The berthing of the vessel was commemorated with a function on board.

On the occasion Mr. Tejas Nataraj, CEO, Mundra International Container Terminal said, “It is yet another proud moment for us at MICT. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Maersk Line for the continued trust they have shown in us and our ability to service them. It is our continuous endeavor to deliver the best service to all our customers, such developments continue to encourage us and provide us with the momentum to improve as a terminal operator.”

The Maersk Line-operated weekly service is scheduled to call at MICT every Thursday and will sail out at 12 PM. It will deploy 3500 TEU (twenty foot equivalent units) capacity vessels with the following port rotation: Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (Nhava Sheva) and Mundra, India; Port Qasim, Pakistan; Salalah, Oman; Mombasa, Kenya; and back to JNPT.

MICT has launched two new Maersk Line services in the first two months of 2015.
