ABBYY Language Services, part of Skolkovo’s IT Cluster, is playing its part in the push to develop India’s tech sector by offering Indian corporate users and freelance translators its leading solution SmartCAT, the most sophisticated translation and localization service anywhere on the web.

ABBYY Language Services is a global language technology partner and service provider. Communication and translation are vital nowadays for growing global business, delivering outstanding products, software and IT solutions to the global market. That is why we are excited to be here at IndiaSoft, see the growth and globalization of the Indian economy in general and its IT sector in particular. — says Anton Voronov, VP of Innovations of ABBYY Language Services. — Our flagship product is SmartCAT.pro, a cloud environment for professional translation automation. We bring this technology to help local companies deal with whatever translation or localization process they have and therefore help them deliver their products to the global markets or do business with international companies.

The platform uses ABBYY products like electronic dictionaries and scan recognition technology. Users can access SmartCAT from any computer connected to the Internet without worrying about about software installation or updates.

SmartCAT is released in two versions: for corporate users and freelance translators, with the latter being free of charge. The corporate version has additional project management functions for customers to benefit from a variety of brand new ways to improve their performance. The production process will become transparent, centralized, and manageable irrespective of who performs the translation. Translation memory centralization alone cuts down total translation costs by 30-80 percent. Machine translation (МТ) can also offer substantial additional savings for certain projects.

Freelance translators will have free access to the technology, which combines vast glossaries with the most advanced tools for post-editing of machine translations, automated quality control and API-based integration with external systems. The technology was introduced at the Indiasoft conference in New Delhi as part of Skolkovo’s support of the Digital India initiative.

Another interesting opportunity we have is for Indian translators and language professionals. With the freelance version of SmartCAT.pro they can use the best-in-class automation tools to increase their productivity and quality. Through our platform they can work directly with global customers without agencies or third parties involved. What is more, for them SmartCAT.pro is and will always remain completely free. — says Anton Voronov, VP of Innovations of ABBYY Language Services.
