KPMG International Case Competition (KICC) Launched for the Fifth Consecutive Year

Feb 19, 2015   14:05 PM
India

KICC is one of the largest global business case study competitions organised by a professional services firm. The program aims at strengthening KPMG’s engagement with students across the country’s leading business schools.

KICC offers an opportunity for students to experience the fast-paced world of casework, meet new people, improve networking skills and develop a global mindset. Participating students receive valuable feedback from KPMG in India’s experienced professionals, which helps them broaden their view.

Over 2,000 students from 11 prominent business schools registered for KICC in India this year. During the first two rounds of the competition, experienced KPMG professionals selected a winning team from each of the 11 b-schools for the India national finals. During the competition in India, KPMG professionals identified more than 50 high potential KICC participants from the participating B-school. These students will be put through a detailed evaluation process. The firm expects to make pre-placement offers to those who qualify our evaluation process. From the last year’s competition, 7 high potential students were made pre-placement offers for exciting and rewarding career opportunities in our consulting practice. These students are very excited to be joining KPMG later this year.

Selection of ‘Team India’ to represent the country in the global finale is taking place in Delhi on 21 February 2015 at Hotel Four Points by Sheraton. The participants will recommend their views on the marketing strategy of a leading global technology brand. These recommendations will be evaluated by a group of KPMG partners. We believe that this experience will help the students gain crucial consulting experience, strengthen their skills, and greatly enhance their employability.

The international finals are scheduled to be held in April this year in Dubai. With confirmed participation of teams from 28 countries, it will be an exciting challenge between some of the world’s brightest students. No team from India has won the international finals so far and we are expecting this year to be very different. We will be working closely with the winner of the India national finals to help them prepare for the global event and win the international title.

Speaking about the competition, Shalini Pillay, Head – People, Performance and Culture, KPMG in India said, “We are happy to inform you that KICC has entered its fifth year. This year also, we expect to witness a tough and interesting competition among the brightest minds from the country’s prominent business schools. I wish the participants good luck.

KPMG is proud to provide this opportunity for students to learn by simulating complex, real-world business issues. KICC exemplifies KPMG’s member firms’ commitment to learning and development, and their commitment to education.
