Scania Commercial Vehicles India Private Limited, a leading commercial vehicles and engines manufacturer, will host a half day conference on Sustainability with the theme “India’s Future – Sustainable Development and Inclusive Growth” in New Delhi on January 14, 2016. Shri Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Honourable Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, will grace the conference with a key note message.

Scania is a global pioneer in sustainable transport solutions and a manufacturer of the widest range of vehicles which run on bio-fuels such as bio-gas, bio-ethanol, and bio-diesel. It is now clear in the Indian market that fossil fuel based transport needs an alternative and a strategic shift towards renewable based public transport is needed. However, in order to find solutions to the challenges that India is facing, a multi-stakeholder approach is urgently required.

Scania is committed to do its part in implementing a cleaner public transport system in India as well as globally through its Biofuel agenda.

With this conference, Scania aims to bring together multiple stakeholders spanning representatives from the Government, industry, civil society as well as entrepreneurs to discuss best practices and a potential road map to make sustainable transport a reality in India by creating time bound policy incentives.
