Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia Distributes 395 Cycles to Girl Students under Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme

Reiterates commitment of SAD-BJP combine for welfare and Development of all sections of society

Punjab Revenue Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia today distributed 395 free cycles to the needy students in three schools of Kathunangal, Chawinda Devi and Tahli Sahib under state’s Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme.

 

While distributing the cycles to girl students of class XI and XII, Mr. Majithia lauded the initiative of Punjab Chief  Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal to facilitate the daily commute of girl students pursuing education in nearby villages. He said that Punjab government was committed to impart quality education to students in rural areas. He said that Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme was a step forward in this direction.

 

Mr. Majithia also appealed to the parents to ensure proper education of the girls so that these girls could play a significant role in the development of healthy society. He said that Punjab has taken various landmark initiatives including establishment of Residential Schools for Meritorious Students where meritorious students get free of cost quality education along other requisite facilities.

 

Reiterating the resolve of SAD-BJP alliance, Mr. Majithia said that the ruling combine was committed for overall development and welfare of all sections of society. He said that Punjab had witnessed unprecedented development in last 9 years under the regime of ruling combine. The Minister also said that on the basis of exemplary development in the state, the ruling alliance is all set to register a hattrick in 2017 elections.

 

Mr. Majithia distributed 154 cycles at Government Senior Secondary School Kathunangal, 145 at Chawinda Devi and 96 at Tahli Sahib School.  Besides this, the Minister also dedicated three state-of-the-art rooms built at a cost of Rs. 40 lakh at Government Senior Secondary School, Tahli Sahib, in association with NRI Dr. Nihal Singh USA.

 

Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Major Shivi, Talbir Singh Gill, District Education Officer Satinder Singh, Prof. Sarchand Singh, Nihal Singh USA, Principal Iranpreet Kaur, Principal Kuldeep Kumar and Principal Parminder Kaur.
