Keeping in view the law and order situation in Kashmir,  All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) has submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) urging the Union and State Governments to take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of Kashmiri Pandits & minorities in the Valley of Kashmir.

AIKS is an Apex Body of Indian & Overseas Kashmiri Pandit Organisations.

The officials of AIKS, handed the memorandum to the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Dr. Jitendra Singh. A similar memorandum was also sent to the Chief Minister Jammu & Kashmir.

While expressing its deep concern on the outbreak of the violence in Kashmir after some heavily armed militants were killed during an encounter with the security forces, AIKS highlighted its concerns over the targeted stoning of Kashmiri Pandit transit camps in different parts of Kashmir.

“The memorandum also raised the issue of safety of minuscule population of Kashmiri Pandits&minorities still residing in the Valley. For us it is a repeat of the 1989-90 situation, which resulted in displacement of our community from our homeland,” said Retd. Col. Tej K. Tikoo, Spokesperson, All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS).
