ICT Academy Creates a New Benchmark in Learning

New India Student Championship 2018 is first of its kind initiative – The Largest Learnathon of India, organized by ICT Academy, powered by Salesforce on 2-3 Feb 2018 has brought together 10,966 students from 118 colleges across India, for a 24 hours of self-learning initiative on preparing themselves for the fourth generation industrial revolution. This initiative developed a self-learning culture amongst the students by making them learn and complete 525,000+ learning modules and earn digital badges as credentials during this 24 hours.

 

ICT Academy (www.ictacademy.in) having partnered with more than 750 colleges across India as its members, has organized this unique initiative with an objective to inculcate the habit of self-learning among the youth in India, thereby adding vigor to the SKILL INDIA mission, supported by the outcome of the DIGITAL INDIA Vision of the Government of India.

 

Mr. M. Sivakumar, CEO, ICT Academy says: "This 24 hours helped students to skill up, discover career options, and get hands-on experience for preparing the students for the next generation jobs. ICT Academy is happy to partner with world leaders likes Salesforce in this initiative in bringing knowledge of global relevance for the youth in India."

Mr. B. V. R. Mohan Reddy, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIT Hyderabad said, “ICT Academy’s Learnathon event is very unique and timely. We need several thousand students to learn new technologies rapidly and this is the best way to achieve simultaneous learning. Industry 4.0 is the future as the rapid advances in computers, communications, sensors and algorithms is bringing disruptive challenges with technologies. These disruptions are challenging but are creating opportunities. Technologies now enable learning from anywhere and anytime. Learnathon provides very timely opportunity for learning.” 

 

Mr. V. Balakrishnan, Chairman, Micrograam and Former CFO of Infosys said, "India has a very young workforce and the biggest challenge before the government is to productively employ them. The "skill India" is a noble program from the government to re-skill and make young workforce ready for industry. But, we need to have a holistic approach with defined courses to meet the objectives of the skill India program. I think initiatives like this will help in creating not only awareness but also the needed thrust to carry the program to the next level.
