Notion Press, India’s largest self-publishing company, has recently published a page-turner for kids titled Tiny Tara and the Tree of Life. The book, written by Nishika Bajaj who is a former banker and a journalist, intends to inspire the love for nature among kids. The book is written in an easy-to-read format that is sure to keep the target audience of children engrossed till the final page.

Tiny Tara and the Tree of Life

Tiny Tara and the Tree of Life is the story of Princess Tara and her friends Sam and Neera, three tiny tree spirits who try to preserve nature at the heart of urban India. The story begins with the trio being alarmed at the news of their home, The Tree of Life, being cut down to provide space for the expansion of Delhi’s ever-growing Metro network.

With a little help from Lord Ganesha’s statue, the three tree spirits almost achieve their impossible goal. By staging a ‘minor miracle’ where the idol under the tree consumes milk, the feisty Tara and her friends are able to convince the religious majority that the site is holy. However, there are several hurdles on their road to success.

The book also touches upon several other issues plaguing Indian society at large including the caste system. While evil forces stir to bring a tragic and abrupt end to the tree spirits’ efforts, what powers of magic the trio employ to accomplish their mission is the crux of the story.

The book takes the reader through several realms effortlessly while instilling in them the importance of preserving nature. The battle between man and nature and the dangers of not respecting the planet we live in are brought out impressively in this book.

The author, Nishika Bajaj, has had a well-accomplished professional life - first as a banker and later as a journalist. Instead of building a brand around herself, she believes in using her writing skills to create a lasting change. She was appointed as the Top Voice - 2018 in LinkedIn where she writes thought-leadership blogs on philanthropy and global development. Following her highly effective blogs, she has taken up writing a novel to instil essential values in impressionable minds.
