Yamaha stands as the first and only two-wheeler company in India, with NCVT approved training program.

Taking forward YMIS’s 10 year vision, “Yamaha Training School” project was started to support training of underprivileged youths including females in Yamaha technology and developing ‘Professional Technical Doctors’. This initiative was to promote and encourage economically weaker youth (male and female) to acquire technical knowledge and expertise, thereby supporting them to secure employment at Yamaha dealerships. Technical experts from Yamaha Technical Academy (YTA), the company’s training division, will support the training of the trainers as well as the students.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Masaki Asano, Managing Director, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd said: “At present, there is a huge skills gap in the industry and a large number of youth are pushed towards unemployment due to lack of technical skills. This platform was envisaged to facilitate the economically weaker youth (Male and Female) to obtain job oriented technical training in two wheeler repair and servicing that meets industry standards. “Upon successful completion of YTS course, students will receive a Yamaha Technical Academy certificate and a certificate issued by the Institute that will help them gain suitable employment within the industry. Yamaha has also signed MoU with Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Government of India on 24th April’15 under which certification will be provided by NCVT and Yamaha has ensured minimum 80% employment to the passed out trainees . It is indeed a proud moment to get national recognition for our endeavors which are in sync with the national agendas like ‘Skill India’ and ‘Make in India’.”

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ravinder Singh, Vice President, Strategy and Planning, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd said: “The recognition comes as an added blessing to YTS students because the NCVT certificates issued to successful students are recognized in India as well as internationally.

As on date Yamaha has 13 YTSs functioning, 8 are under preparation and these are spanned in 12 states. Each of these YTS shall be training 20 to 22 youths including girls every year. It is well in place to mention here that as of now 20 girls are undergoing training at various YTSs, and first batch of 4 girls graduated from Don Bosco Yamaha Training School Kolkata, are placed at various Yamaha dealerships in the city. Commissioning of YTSs will continue as a long term project by providing trained manpower to dealerships and thereby increasing customer satisfaction further more.
