Arundhati Bhattacharya is 5th World’s Most Powerful Women in Finance 2016

Ranked 25th in world’s 100 most powerful women 2016 list by Forbes

Arundhati Bhattacharya, first Woman Chairman of India’s largest commercial Bank has been ranked in the top five most powerful women in finance by Forbes. The Forbes annual list of the 100 most powerful women feature smartest and toughest female business leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, scientists, philanthropists and CEOs. 

 

Smt. Bhattacharya has moved up five spots from the previous year. Forbes has also ranked Smt. Bhattacharya at the 25th spot in the world’s most powerful women in Forbes 2016 list.    

 

Smt. Bhattacharya is instrumental in transforming the bank and embraced various initiatives in technology such as sbiINTOUCH digital banking outlet, State Bank Buddy a mobile wallet, State Bank Anywhere a retail internet banking based application for smartphones, SBI Tech Learning Centres for educating customers, SBI e-Pay a payment aggregator service to mention a few. Under her leadership, State Bank of India grew its network close to 17,000 branches and services over 330 million customers with presence in 36 countries.
