Bird Group Conducts Self Defence Training For Women employees in Collaboration with Delhi Police

Aiming to make its women workforce confident to deal with a crisis situation in the wake of rising incidence of crime against women in the city, Bird Group in collaboration with Delhi Police conducted a 10 days training workshop on self defence techniques and moves as well as how to deal with crisis situation for their women employees.  

 

The training, held on the Dusit Devarana New Delhi premises, was led and conducted by women representatives of the “Special Police Unit Women and Children Cell”.

 

The session saw participation of approximately 50 employees of Bird Group. All levels of women employees took part in the self defence training session. The women employees were provided training on basic self defence techniques, and moves. They were given insights into how to tackle one, two and a gang of people, and which objects to use like keys, deodorants in cases of emergency to defend themselves.

 

The training session evoked a huge response from the Bird Group employees, who very enthusiastically learnt the techniques taught. BirdGroup wishes to continue the training process for women staff.

 

The final day of the training saw the distribution of certificates to all participants by Varsha Sharma, DCP Special Police Unit, Women & Children Cell along with Radha Bhatia, Chairperson, Bird Group. The distribution ceremony was conducted at Dusit Devarana New Delhi, Samalkha, NH- 8, New Delhi 110037.
