Cambridge International Examinations Appoints Ruchira Ghosh as Regional Director for South Asia

Cambridge International Examinations, the world leader in providing international programmes and qualifications for school education, has announced the appointment of Ruchira Ghosh as Regional Director, South Asia, in line with its international expansion plans. 

Based in Mumbai, Ruchira will initially focus on expanding the team to support the growing popularity of Cambridge programmes and qualifications across India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

There are currently more than 400 Cambridge schools in South Asia and the team, which will be based across the region, is working in collaboration with governments and schools and other key stakeholders to grow further.

Prior to joining Cambridge International Examinations, Ruchira was the Head of Business Development – Schools at British Council in India, where she served for 12 years. Her role involved managing relationships with school heads and senior government officials. Ruchira has a degree in sociology from Delhi University and a Master’s degree in social work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.

Ruchira said: “I am delighted to be joining the Cambridge International Examinations South Asian team at such an exciting time for the organisation. I am very much looking forward to working with our growing number of schools in the region to provide them with world-class qualifications and to support our growing community of learners.”

Ruchira is taking over from William Bickerdike who will be moving on after a decade-long stint with Cambridge International Examinations.
