Comment of Mr. Rohit Raj Modi, President, Credai NCR on ‘Enhancement of Floor Area Ratio in Delhi’ on the announcement made by Hon’ble Minister of Urban Development and Poverty Alleviaton, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu:

“On behalf of the industry, we welcome this move for giving the nod to increase FAR in Delhi. This will address the rising problem of providing accommodation to all and in realizing the dream of ‘Housing for all by 2022’. We know that rapid urbanization has already put a pressure on the limited land resource especially in Delhi. This extra FAR would definitely help developers with extra space and thus would help match the demand and supply gap in Delhi. We are however waiting for clarification on the issue of change in density, number of dwelling units and height. We think that increase in FAR shall be effective if accompanied by increase in dwelling units, density and height ”
