DP World has been recognised with the Golden Peacock Human Resource Excellence Award (GPHREA) for best practice in the profession. The award was presented by The Rt. Hon. Baroness Verma, Minister for Energy and Climate Change, Government of the United Kingdom, and received by Ms. Monal Srivastava, Head of Human Capital, DP World Subcontinent Region, in the presence of a distinguished gathering of business leaders at the 9th International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility, being held from 19 – 20 January, 2015 in Mumbai.

Commenting, Mr. Anil Singh, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Indian Subcontinent, DP World, said: “We are pleased to receive this prestigious award in recognition of our HR practices. This is an acknowledgement of our efforts towards creating a world-class people-centric organization, and it inspires us to set higher standards in the industry. We believe in nurturing talent, providing opportunities to sample the diversity of our business coupled with career progression. Fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and performance is central to who we are and what we do.”

As part of its leadership strategy, DP World has created a People Development Framework, a global career and succession planning tool that helps its HR professionals to evaluate skills, competencies and readiness of employees for future roles. It also helps them develop a succession plan for the organization.

Diversity and the empowerment of women are other issues being addressed by DP World. The appointment of women in core operational areas such as Gate Operations, Customer Support, Documentation, and engineering is underway. Corporate responsibility initiatives around diversity such as working with the non-government organisation, Protsahan, associating with the Foot and Mouth Painting Artists Association and Writing for the Blind are some more initiatives supported by the company.
