Dr. Shashi Kiran Shetty Conferred with the Indian Maritime Businessman of the Year 2016 Award at the Gateway Awards 2016

Dr. Shashi Kiran Shetty, Chairman, Allcargo Logistics was bestowed with the Indian Maritime Businessman of the Year 2016 award at the Gateway awards held on Friday, 12^th August 2016 at The Leela. Allcargo Logistics was also the proud recipient of the Container Freight Station (CFS) of the Year award for the second consecutive year at the award ceremony. 

The Containers India 2016 event organized by Maritime Gateway is a platform to learn, network and debate with India’s leading shipping, ports and logistics executives along with business, political and academic leaders. The theme of the event was to bring diverse perspectives from corporates with a shared commitment to improve trade and business and to debate and deliberate on the most pressing issues of the time.

Mr. Adarsh Hegde, Joint Managing Director, Allcargo Logistics, presented a key note address at the inaugural session of the event on ‘The changing face of commerce: Its influence on Container movement’. 

The event was further followed by Gateway Awards 2016, the most coveted awards in the maritime industry honoring individuals, organizations and companies from across India’s maritime industry.  

The event witnessed the presence of prominent and senior industry policy makers and government officials like Dr John Joseph, Chief Commissioner of Customs, Mumbai Zone II, Shri. Neeraj Bansal, Deputy Chairman, IRS, ; Capt. Mr. Michael P Pinto, IAS, Former Secretary, Ministry of Shipping; Deepak Tewari, Container Shipping Lines Association; Mr. Ramprasad, Editor-in-Chief & Publisher, Maritime Gateway; Mr. Sabhyasachi  Hajara, Chairman, Editorial Advisory Board, Maritime Gateway; and few others.
