Impact of highest ever allocation on MNREGA on Real Estate and Construction Sector 

“The finance ministers announcement of “highest ever allocation of Rs.5000 Cr to MNREGA may have a significant impact on availability and cost of labour for construction. The Real Estate and Construction Sector being still largely labour dependent would have a significant adverse impact. The industry was expecting some labour reforms to help with the availability of skilled manpower. The concerns around rights of workmen and opportunities for employment could have been addressed in a different and mutually beneficial manner.”
