Indian Men Hockey Team Keen to Take Down Pakistan in the 17th Asian Games 2014 Tomorrow

After registering two convincing wins against Sri Lanka in the opener by 8-0 and Oman by 7-0 in their second match of the tournament, the Indian Men Hockey team is ready to take on Pakistan at the 17th Asian Games 2014 tomorrow.

The rage for a powerful clash between India and Pakistan has always made the matches between the two teams, the most awaited ones. Playing in the same Pool with the same opponents, both India and Pakistan are set to meet in their third respective match at the 17th Asian Games to be played against each other.

With both the teams having won their respective matches till now in the tournament, this match between the two is the most powerful match in the group stage as both India and Pakistan will strive to claim their third consecutive victory in the tournament and remain undefeated. Where India will attempt to better the 2010 Asian Games results, where they defeated Pakistan by 3-2, Pakistan on the other hand will make every effort to avenge their loss.

Speaking ahead of the match against Pakistan, Indian midfielder and Captain Sardar Singh said, “Playing against Pakistan is an experience that every player looks forward to, it will be the second time in the Asian Games that I will be playing against them and I am sure that it will be a challenging battle between the two teams. The whole team is excited and ready to take them on tomorrow.”

Speaking on the much awaited clash against Pakistan, Indian Men Hockey team’s Chief Coach Terry Walsh said, “The match with Pakistan will be a keen contest. We need to display what we have developed over recent months and keep the free running Pakistan way of play in check. Equally we will need to play with discipline and cunning against a formidable opponent. This is a contest we are very keen to play.”
