Campus placement season is on a high in India and 2 Million new engineering graduates will try their luck this year. The competition is getting fierce every year, but there is good news for the graduating class of India’s premier “National Institute of Technology” (NIT). In an initiative to provide better job opportunities to NIT graduates across the country, “ConnectNIT”, a Pan-India network of NIT graduates has collaborated with Singapore based recruitment platform LetsCatchup, to launch a new hiring platform for the largest network of engineers in India.

The website letscatchup.net/nit will connect over 40,000 students and 100,000 alumni from all 30 NIT’s under one umbrella. The platform is powered by LetsCatchup’s unique job matching technology, which turns alumni communities into an instant job referral network. It provides faster application response to young graduates with a guaranteed first round interview with senior professionals within 7 days.

“We have been working towards empowering the NIT community through various engagement programs and with this collaboration, we’ll create a better opportunity network for all geographically separated NITians. It is great way for NIT grads to find latest opportunities and get benefited from our rich alumni network,” explained Vishesh Sahni, the National Coordinator of ConnectNIT.

ConnectNIT was established in 2005, under the Ministry of Human Resource and development. Since then, it is running its operations from NIT Trichy, with the help of student and faculty representatives. A team of 30 campus ambassadors is being appointed to promote this initiative and ensure better student engagement. Going forward the portal will also organize online job fairs for NIT engineers with some of the hottest Indian companies, who are already on board.

Singapore based LetsCatchup is providing this network with a vision to empower the engineering community in India and change the age-old recruitment process.

Commenting on the new initiative, Vinay Pahlajani, CEO of LetsCatchup said,“We are thrilled with the possibilities of this collaboration. The platform will provide equal opportunities to all NITians across India. With so many bright engineers on one platform, it will be easier for employers to scout talent from different parts of the country, from Srinagar to Calicut, all at one place.”

The platform is now live and can be accessed at http://letscatchup.net/nit.
