The theme for National Road Safety Week 2015 is: Safety is not just a slogan, it’s a way of life. By participating in this initiative, Mahindra intends to create awareness about road safety.

With increasing incidents of road rage, accidents and unsafe driving practices, it is imperative to educate people on road safety. In fact, Road Safety is expected to improve dramatically when every component of the road system including the vehicle, road infrastructure, traffic engineering, driver training and road etiquette, enforcement, education and awareness, as well as the laws that govern the road system, have safety as an inherent virtue.

Under the aegis of the National Road Safety Week, the company has undertaken various activities such as road safety awareness for dealer staff, drivers’ education program through dealer workshops, creating awareness amongst school children through a video presentation on “Safety Technology in Automobiles” and a drawing competition for school children and customer kids.

Commenting on the Road Safety campaign, Mr. Sanjoy Gupta, Vice President – Customer Care, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “As responsible corporate citizens, we at Mahindra are committed towards making India’s roads safer. Today, most accidents are caused due to driver negligence and improper road etiquette. Hence, it is our responsibility to educate people about road safety. Through activities at various touch points, we are trying to educate the drivers of today and the generation of tomorrow, thereby helping them to imbibe values of road safety from a young age.”
