Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organisation, today announced that it has successfully delivered Qantas with an upgrade to Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 (R12) provisioned in a Software as a Service model together with Macquarie Telecom. The new cloud-based version of Oracle E-Business Suite will provide Qantas with key benefits including enhanced system functionality, reduced system management complexity and unification of vendors.

Qantas was utilising the Oracle E-Business Suite R11 to support a range of business processes in the areas of Financials, Supply Chain Management, Customer Relationship Management and Human Capital Management. TCS unified support and management of the application and upgraded the Oracle E-Business Suite to R12, with over 1,800 customisations. TCS also transitioned the Qantas’ Oracle E-Business Suite R12 to an end-to-end managed Software as a Service (SaaS) platform hosted by Macquarie Telecom.

Kash Paracha, Head of Technology Services, Qantas said, “Oracle E-Business Suite R12 is at the core of our business operations. TCS has helped Qantas achieve three key goals with this Oracle ERP Suite upgrade from R11 to R12. Firstly, we have leveraged the latest ERP functionality available from Oracle enabling greater business agility and a superior user experience. Secondly, we have ensured smooth and stable business operations by virtue of a simplified infrastructure platform. Thirdly, we have consolidated all IT Services under one supplier to ensure vastly improved Quality of Service and usage based billing. TCS has delivered this ERP transformation on budget, on-time and without business disruption. This has been a great team effort between Qantas, TCS and its partners.

TCS is pleased to provide Qantas with end-to-end delivery and ongoing support for its Oracle ERP program,” said Deborah Hadwen, Chief Executive Officer, Tata Consultancy Services – Australia and New Zealand. “Qantas partnered with TCS due to our in-depth knowledge of Qantas’s IT environment, our global specialist skills in Oracle Applications and IT Infrastructure Management, and most importantly because of our ability to partner with multiple vendors to bring out fit for purpose solutions for our clients.”

Luke Clifton, Group Executive at Macquarie Telecom said, "We work closely with TCS to provide their Australian clients with the same commitment to service and innovation that they’ve come to know from TCS, out of our world-class Intellicentre facilities. As an Australian company with 22 years' experience, we are thrilled at this opportunity to work with iconic brands like TCS and Qantas."

TCS is a trusted business partner of Qantas, and has worked with the airline on a broad-range of projects. The team from TCS is committed to assisting Qantas to continuously enhance and optimise its IT infrastructure and operations.

TCS is a global Diamond Partner of Oracle with comprehensive capabilities in Oracle Applications, including Fusion Applications, E-Business Suite, Siebel, PeopleSoft, Hyperion, and JD Edwards.
