ELCOMA is an Apex Body of the Rs. 12,000 Crores Lighting Industry. Our Association has nearly 100 members from all segments of large, medium and small manufacturers. We have aligned our products with government plans by initiating introduction of Energy Efficient Lighting Products like CFL and LED Lamps etc. and bringing in awareness to users by organizing Workshops, Exhibition and Media publicity. Lighting accounts for over 18 per cent of the total electric consumption in our country and therefore in keeping with the Government priority the Industry has made important contributions by introducing the most Energy Effective products and systems that have saved substantial energy. The CFL (Compact Fluorescent Lamps), Electronic Ballasts, and the recent introduction of LEDs are some examples which all save over 80 per cent Energy when replacing traditional products in the Lighting range.
