AAP Supports Feminism, Joins #FeministFeb

Centre for Social Research launched its campaign #FeministFeb to redefine Feminism in its true sense and to raise funds to support free counselling of domestic violence survivors.

A movement to engage citizens in a discussion on Feminism both in theory and in practice, the campaign is moving forward with a Human ‘F’ pouring in from across the nation. The photo campaign that is being run alongside is asking people to show off some acrobatic skills and make a human ‘F’.

Within two days of its launch, the campaign has already received great traction on social media channels at national and international level (Germany/France/US/UK/Italy/China), with involvement of political leaders, TV personalities, students, and is looking forward to more videos & blogs discussing feminism.

“It is an attempt to bring the movement back to the people. In a first of its kind crowd sourced awareness generation programme, we are looking for ideas & solutions for and from the people using the democratic & free social media platforms. We are also raising funds for an extremely important cause in the process” Said Mr. Amitabh Kumar, Head of Media & Communications Centre for Social Research.

Looking at cringing statistics of domestic violence against women, #FeministFeb initiated with a prime motive to support the counselling of domestic violence survivors. It is stated that every five minutes a domestic violence incident is reported in India, and the year 2013 recorded a total of 309546 cases of crimes against women.Join the movement and support a survivor by buying a T-Shirt available on Fresh Monk.
