Aptech Steps into the BFSI Segment with its Banking & Finance Academy

Aptech Ltd is all set to adopt a brand new avatar by venturing into a previously unchartered territory. The global education company is setting up the Aptech Banking & Finance Academy with a mission to fill the predicted skill deficit in the BFSI sector. 

According to National Skill Development Corporation, the BFSI sector will witness creation of 1.5 million new jobs by 2016-17. Lack of skilled human resource is one of the biggest impediments to the projected growth of the sector. With the newly launched Banking & Finance Academy, Aptech has taken up the challenge to fill this deficit. 

The Aptech Certified Banking Specialist (ACBS) program offered by the Aptech Banking & Finance Academy has been designed to offer new age banking skills in front office and banking operations. The course will be initially offered in select 21 centers this year but will be expanded to 100 centers by next year. Aptech also plans to add more programs for other financial services sectors under the same course.

The ACBS program offers a cutting edge curriculum that is has been curated specifically to meet the changing skill demands of the BFSI sector using learning activities based on case-studies and live market scenarios. 

The course aims to impart a wider assortment of skills suited for enhanced employability quotient sought by private banks, NBFCs, and allied sub-sectors like gold loan entities, DMAT service providers, housing loan companies, broking firms and insurance companies. After completion of course, young professionals can get a job in sales, relationship management or core banking operations profile with skills to work as a Certified Banking Specialist.

BFSI is one of the fastest growing sectors in India. The Indian banking industry is expected to become the 3rd largest in the world by 2025. Public sector banks contribute to the maximum business in India. The private sector banks, however, have increased their share in the past few years by capturing 30% of market. With liberal RBI policies, increased government focus, innovation in technology and a growing demand from consumers, Specialized or differentiated banking segments have arisen. Increase in numbers of specialized banking and liberalized bank opening policy will lead to increase in demand for banking professionals.
