The Indian Plumbing Association (IPA) is all set to organize the “18th Indian Plumbing Conference + Exhibition” at Bengaluru with the central theme – “Plumbing Installations for High Rise Buildings”. It is a two-day conference, happening in Bengaluru after a gap of seven years and will be held at the “Manpho Convention Centre” near Manyata Tech Park, Bengaluru, between 20–21 November, 2014.

With rapid urbanization, even in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, India is witnessing changing skylines. With the pace of migration, coupled with rising income and acceptance of the nuclear family concept, skyscrapers have become a common feature across the country. The trend started in Mumbai and New Delhi and is now spreading fast to the southern states as well. IPA has invited domain-experts from within and outside India to deliberate and interact on some of the critical topics related to the conference theme through presentations and panel discussions. IPA has also planned a large exhibition of plumbing and allied products, as a concurrent event at the same venue.

While talking on this initiative, Mr. Sudhakaran Nair, President of Indian Plumbing Association said that "Although these tall buildings add glory to the skyline, they also offer new challenges for plumbing contractors and consultants. If not designed and installed correctly, plumbing systems can create a myriad of problems affecting the occupants, apart from the building structures themselves!"

Mr. B O Prasanna Kumar, Chairman of IPA Bengaluru Chapter further added that - "IPA is relentlessly pursuing its mission of 'Re-defining Plumbing Standards in India'. The Indian Plumbing Conferences have successfully created a forum for exchange of ideas and dissemination of information."

This national conference will see the participation of Plumbing Consultants, Plumbing Contractors, Architects, Interior Designers, Real Estate Developers, Hoteliers, Hospitals Administrators, Fire Service Officials, Bureaucrats, Urban Planners, Project Managers, Students, Academicians, etc.

The concurrent exhibition will have wide range of plumbing products on display like – Pumps, Valves, Pipes, Fire Fighting Systems, Water Treatment Systems, Sanitary Fixtures, Swimming Pool/Fountain Equipment, Hot Water Systems, Water Storage Systems, Sealants & Adhesives and so on.

Highlighting the important role the plumbing profession performs in protecting health and safety of the citizens, IPA has invited Dr. C.N. Manjunath, a renowned personality from India’s medical community, as Chief Guest of the conference.
