Dubai Firm Launches India's First Direct Selling News Portal 'Qonnect Now'

Dubai-based Kaydence & Kianna FZE through its India-arm Kaydence Media Ventures (KMV) set to launch India's first media initiative for the Direct Selling industry - Qonnect Now.

 

Qonnect Now - www.theqonnectnow.com initiative is an online portal of news, trends, perspective and events aimed at connecting, informing and educating the different stakeholders of the direct selling industry across India. 

 

Besides the prime focus on India, Qonnect Now will also feature news, trends and events of the direct selling industry in Asia Pacific and Middle East.

Commenting on the new initiative, Savio Rodrigues, MD & CEO, Kaydence & Kianna FZE said, "The direct selling industry India is estimated according to PHD – IDSA The Indian Direct Selling Industry Annual Survey 2015 – 2016 Report, to be USD 183 Billion industry globally, engaging over 103 Million Direct Sellers. India is estimated to be 65,000 crore of the global direct selling industry creating 1.5 crore self-employed entrepreneurs working as direct sellers. The progressive government under Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken cognisance about the potential of this emerging sector of business and has even established guidelines to regulate the direct selling business in the country.

 

We see a great potential for media products in this niche business sector and we have decided to take our first step in this direction with 'Qonnect Now'. We also plan to launch a fortnightly print magazine focussed on the Direct Selling industry in Asia-Pacific and Middle East within this year."

The direct selling industry according to the FICCI-KPMG Report 2016 touched Rs. 7200 crore in 2016 creating an estimated 50 lakh in self-employed entrepreneurs so far in India. "With government getting proactive in recognising the potential of the direct selling industry in the country and working to establishing the appropriate legal framework at the Centre and at state-level, the potential for this industry is a northward climb and it will contribute to immensely in wealth and job creation through entrepreneurship. We aim to be the voice of the direct selling industry by working along with the different direct selling associations like IDSA and FDSA, companies and distributors across the spectrum of the business segment to help this industry grow," expressed Rodrigues
