First in India: Ola Signs an MoU with Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (KIAB) to Provide Reliable Transportation Access to Travelers

• Dedicated Ola Zone with parking space for driver partners and pick up points for customers - ETAs of less than 3 mins at the Bengaluru Airport

• Plans to replicate a similar model with airports and public utility spaces across the country

Through a first-of-its-kind MoU between a public utility space and an online mobility platform, Ola, India’s most popular mobile app for transportation, will extend its range of mobility solutions to travelers through a designated ‘Ola Zone’ at the Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (KIAB). This arrangement will allow Ola driver-partners to park their vehicles inside KIAB premises, with specifically demarcated areas to offer uninterrupted service to travelers arriving in the city. This unique model, as a result of the MoU, shows the pivotal role that Ola has come to play in the mobility ecosystem of a large city like Bengaluru.

Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru is one of the busiest airports in the country and handled over 19 million passenger in FY 2016.  By working together with KIAB, Ola aims to provide a convenient commuting option to hundreds of thousands of travelers who travel to and from the airport everyday. Customers can book an Ola cab from their app on their arrival at KIAB. Their designated cab and driver will be waiting at the ‘Ola Zone’, across the Arrivals gate. Ola has also deputed queue representatives to guide customers towards their cab if need be.

Ola has been allotted parking slots and pick-up points in the airport premises for driver partners to park their vehicles and customers’ convenient onboarding. Ola aims to replicate this model with other key public utility spaces as well, such as railways stations, bus stations, in Bangalore as well as across the 102 cities it operates in.
