Infosys, East China Normal University and Renmin University of China Establish New Data Science Joint Lab

Infosys (NYSE: INFY), a global leader in consulting, technology, outsourcing and next-generation services, in collaboration with East China Normal University (ECNU) and Renmin University of China (RUC), today announced the establishment of a Data Science Joint Lab. The lab will be located in the East China Normal University campus in Shanghai, and will be open to students majoring in computer science.

 

The Data Science Joint Lab will focus on research and development of commercial solutions in the areas of data science and big data analytics. Through this joint initiative, Infosys, ECNU and RUC, will give students in China an opportunity to discover new technologies, skills and inspire them to innovate to find new ways to utilize big data.

 

The creation of this lab is a part of Infosys’ strategy to explore new areas of innovation, by bringing students and others in the IT industry together to pursue a passion for lifelong learning and to solve complex business problems faced by businesses. Through this lab, Infosys will carry out data science related workshops and teaching activities, support research leading to innovations in the use of big data, and cultivate talent, which will in turn contribute to the social and economic development of China.
