  • Intex will match the donations made by people on Snapdeal Sunshine of stationary kits worth Rs 10

Intex Technologies, a leading consumer electronics major, has collaborated with Snapdeal, India’s largest online marketplace, to launch a campaign for underprivileged kids this Diwali in the form of the Joy of Giving Week - a festival of philanthropy, celebrated every year by engaging people through acts of giving.

People can go to Snapdeal Sunshine, Snapdeal’s online donation platform, and donate stationary kits worth Rs 10 to disadvantaged children. Intex Technologies will match the donations of stationary kits up to a limit of 50,000 kits.

The campaign starts from 1st-10th October, 2016 and the stationary kits (that include Natraj pencils, an eraser, a sharper and a ruler) will be directly delivered to partnering NGOs like Teach for India, GiveIndia, Bhumi, The Community Initiative, Care India, etc; which are actively working for education of underprivileged kids across the country.

Driving and leveraging employee engagement through the campaign, Intex Technologies and Snapdeal will run internal contests, where employees can register in teams and promote the campaign page to drive traffic and donations. The team driving maximum donations will receive exciting goodies for their efforts.

Speaking on the initiative, Ms. Ishita Bansal, CSR Project Head, Intex Technologies said, “At Intex it is our goal to help bring about an optimistic change in local communities by designing and implementing various programs. Making use of Intex’s strengths - people, resources and technology - we are always developing programs that can facilitate active community participation which help in bringing about a positive change in the society. The latest initiative with Snapdeal where we are donating stationary kits to underprivileged kids is another such effort aimed at bringing a smile on the faces of numerous kids. This initiative is part of our participation in the ‘Joy of Giving Week’ which will involve our employees, encouraging them to come forward and support the noble initiative.”

Added Mr. Rajnish Wahi, ‎Senior Vice President - Corporate Affairs and Communication - ‎Snapdeal, "This Joy of Giving Week, we are facilitating easy and meaningful donations through our Snapdeal Sunshine platform. Our initiative will enable people to donate towards child education, bringing cheer to many in need. We recently received contributions for 21,000 soldiers during our 'India Says Thank You' campaign and expect even more donations this time, which will be matched by Intex Technologies"
