ITDC Posts Rs. 4.28 Crore Profit in Half Yearly (2015-16) Results

India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), the public sector undertaking under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism, posted a robust performance in half yearly results of the current financial year 2015-16. The total turnover in H1 ending September 2015 stood at Rs. 205.88 cr as compared to Rs. 218.33 cr in the corresponding H1 last year. The company registered Net Profit Before Tax (PBT) at Rs. 4.28 cr as compared to Rs. 2.61 cr in the corresponding H1 last year i.e. 2014-15.

 

These details were announced in the Board of Directors’ meeting of the company today on 29th October, 2015 at the Group’s flagship hotel, The Ashok, New Delhi. In H1, 2015-16 the momentum generated in the last financial year seem to have continued posting profit yet again. Also, The Ashok group of hotels has been in the forefront of innovative marketing initiatives ensuring consistency in sales and occupancy.

  • The Ashok hotel, New Delhi was chosen for catering services at the prestigious dinner hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in honor of African delegations at the third India-Africa Forum Summit, 2015

  • Chef Arvind Rai, Hotel The Ashok, New Delhi was honored with the Silver Hat Award at the 12th Annual Chef Awards, 2015 organized by India Culinary Forum

  • Chef Dalbir Singh of Hotel The Ashok, New Delhi was awarded the Master Chef-Indian Sweets Award at the 12th Annual Chef Awards, 2015 organized by India Culinary Forum

  • Hotel The Ashok bagged the award for Best MICE Hotel at PATWA-Safari India South Asia Travel Awards 2015

  • The Ashok Banquets and Conventions received the award for Best Banquet Manager at the PATWA-Safari India South Asia Travel Awards 2015

  • In line with the Government’s vision of Skill Development, ITDC has set up a Center of Excellence at Hotel Samrat, New Delhi. The Ashok Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management (AIH&TM) has formalised collaboration with National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) to offer a course in B.Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration (HHA) with its first batch already commenced. The institute is responsible for imparting skills and professional training to the youth in the areas of hospitality and Hotel Administration.

  • India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has implemented a Sound and Light show project at Shanti Stupa, Dhauli, Odisha. The theme of Kalinga War and conversion of King Ashoka from ‘Chandashoka’ to ‘Dharmashoka’ will be portrayed in three languages on all days of the week except Monday.

  • A new duty free shop under Ashok International Trade Division has been opened at Mumbai Port

  • Ashok Events, a unit of ITDC, coordinated Make In India event at Hanover, Germany in April 2015

  • ITDC participated in food festivals organised by Ministry of Tourism in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Uzbekistan promoting best of Indian cuisine in these countries.
