Jet Airways Awarded “Airline of the Year 2014” by French Travel Managers and Business Travel Agents

Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, has been awarded the prestigious “Laurier d’argent” as “Airline of the Year 2014” by the French Travel Managers and Business Travel Agents at the International French Travel Market (IFTM) trade fair at Paris.

Jet Airways, which launched its flights to Paris only in May this year, was awarded the “Laurier d’argent” – a silver prize in the airline category for its daily direct flight from Paris to Mumbai and the “travel smart fares concept” at the four day IFTM Top Resa trade fair in Paris on September 24. Mr Emmanual Menu, Vice President, Continental Europe, Jet Airways, and Mr, Michel Simiaut General Manager of Europe South, of Jet Airways, received the award at a function in Paris in the presence of several luminaries of travel and trade.

IFTM - International French Travel Market - Top Resa is one of the leading travel and tourism trade shows in France and held annually at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. It is the key trade event of the branch and includes all the players in the travel sector – from tour operators and travel agencies to coach operators, airlines, and event agencies.

Jet Airways launched its daily direct Airbus A330 service from Mumbai to Paris, the world’s most popular tourist destination, on May 14, 2014. Jet Airways flight 9W 124 departs from Mumbai’s brand new Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, T2 at 1200 hrs and arrives at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport at 1750 hrs (Local Time). The return flight 9W 123 departs Paris at 2110 hrs (LT) and arrives Mumbai at 0945 hrs the following day. The flight from Paris to Mumbai is the only evening departure from continental Europe to Mumbai providing a seamless connection to the airline’s entire network within India.
