This is a natural transition to leverage our Digital expertise to enable Digital Accessability,” said Ganesh Ayyar, Chief Executive Officer & Executive Director, Mphasis.

“Technology intersects every facet of our lives. Making it accessible for everyone irrespective of any disability is imperative. Being able to leverage technology isn’t something that would be nice someday on a fancy gadget. It’s something we need in the here and now. Organizations must reinvent their digital footprint to be relevant and engaging to all,” said Eric Bridges, Executive Director, The American Council for Blind.

Mphasis has a strong history of advocacy and success in accessibility, receiving the NCPEDP-Shell Helen Keller Award and President’s Award for inclusion and employment of individuals with disabilities. Mphasis found that the lack of accessible assets means losing out on 20% of quality talent; over 400 of their employees are with disability/s. Mphasis has also partnered with The International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-B), to support and nurture deserving social enterprises including that of addressing the challenges faced by disabled.

In association with NCPEDP, Mphasis had instituted the ‘Universal Design’ award for individuals and organisations working to create an accessible and barrier-free society for persons with disabilities in the areas of built environment, transport, ICT, services, aids and appliances.
