Over 100 Leading Organisations and more than 250 Business Leaders to Participate at the Institute Of Directors, India's 14th London Global Convention on 28-31 Oct 2014

Institute Of Directors, India is celebrating its Silver Jubilee and on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary celebrations, it is hosting the annual ‘14th London Global Convention on Corporate Governance & Sustainability’ on 28 - 31 October 2014, at Millennium Hotel London Mayfair, in London. This year's theme of the Convention is “Boards To Lead: Effective Corporate Governance & Sustainability”. The Convention details are available on website www.iodonline.com.

The Rt. Hon. Baroness Sandip Verma, Minister for Energy & Climate Change is the Chairperson of the Steering Committee for the event.

There have been many attempts to understand the ambiguous and changing world of the Boardroom, and to determine what makes an ‘Effective Board’, particularly as an aftermath of a number of recent boardroom failures. The Convention will explore the  concept  of  this challenge,  through  the  lens  of  experienced board chairmen, directors and board review practitioners on how to  improve the performance of boards, apart from an unparalleled networking opportunity with global leaders.

The Convention will begin with Global Business Meet at the House of Lords- UK Parliament on 28th Oct and it will conclude with a Business Study Visit to Leicester, hosted by the University of Leicester on 31st Oct. The technical sessions of the Global Convention will take place on 29-30 Oct at Hotel Millennium Mayfair. ICAEW has partnered to host the Welcome Reception on 28th Oct at their Accountants Hall and it will also feature a special panel discussion on 'Integrated Reporting'.

A large number of partners have joined in support of the Convention and include UK India Business Council (UKIBC), The Corporate Secretaries International Association (CSIA), The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), The Institute of International and European Affairs (IIEA), The Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA), The Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG) , The Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Africa International Business Forum( AIBF), Indian Business Chamber Of Luxembourg, London Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a number of other national and international organizations.

The famed ‘Golden Peacock Awards for Corporate Governance, Sustainability (both Global & National) and Innovation Management will be presented during  the ‘Golden Peacock Awards Nite”. The Golden Peacock Awards established over 23 years back by the Institute of Directors are today regarded as ‘Benchmark of Corporate Excellence’, worldwide.
