PNB Housing Facilitates two ‘Day-Care Centres’ through NGO Mobile Crèches

PNB Housing Finance Limited has entered into an agreement with Mobile Crèches to set up 2 day-care centres in Mohan Nagar and Rajnagar Extension, Ghaziabad. The day care centres will cater to a workers’ base at SVP Group construction site. Mobile Crèches has been one of the few NGOs working specifically to support the health, education and safety of children of construction labourers, since 1969.

Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Sanjaya Gupta, M.D., PNB Housing, said, “ The construction industry is the largest employer of migrant labourers in Indian cities comprising of around 4 crore workers. Approximately 87% of workforce in this sector is largely unorganised and are constantly exposed to a poor quality of life. Being a part of the construction industry, it has been our constant endeavour to improve the living conditions of the workforce and our alliance with Mobile Crèche is a step towards our intention. We hope that our assistance will enable Mobile Crèche to reach out to a larger number of children at a faster pace.”

The program aims to support the health, education and safety of the children of the construction labourers employed with SVP Group. The camp caters to around 150 families. Through PNB Housing’s support, Mobile Crèches will provide childcare services to address the developmental needs of more than 60 children at two construction sites, with 4 staff members in each centre.

The program will not only aid the overall development of the children but also generate awareness amongst the families about the diseases and immunisation. In addition, this will allow the mothers to work thus giving her an opportunity to get empowered and contribute to the family’s income. We are looking forward to have such more activities in future in association with PNB Housing.”
