SpiceJet Bags “2014 Top Airline by Growth in Muscat (South-Asia)” Award

SpiceJet, the airline that made flying more affordable for more Indians than ever before in 2014, has been bestowed with the prestigious “2014 Top Airline by Growth in Muscat (South-Asia)” award. The award was presented by Oman Airports Management Company S.A.O.C (OAMC).

The award is in recognition to the whopping 277% growth in the number of passengers carried by SpiceJet to and from Muscat International Airport in year 2014. The airline emerged winner in this category, where apart from four other Indian carriers some other South Asian airlines too were in competition.

SpiceJet started flying to Muscat from Ahmedabad in August 2013. Currently the airline operates flights three times a week within this route.

Inaugurated in 2013, OAMC Awards are awarded to airlines on multiple categories for operating in Muscat International Airport and Salalah Airport of Oman. This was the second edition of the OAMC Awards.
