Sunedison Commits to Build 15,200 Megawatts of Renewable Energy Projects in India by 2022

SunEdison, Inc. (NYSE:SUNE), the world’s largest renewable energy development company, today announced that it is making a green energy commitment to the Indian government to construct and commission 15,200 megawatts of renewable energy in India by 2022. This is the largest renewable energy commitment made by any renewable energy development company to date in India, and follows the Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to add 100 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity to the Indian grid by 2022.

SunEdison has presented the green energy commitment to the Honourable Prime Minister Modi on February 15 at the RE-Invest 2015 Global Investors Meeting and Renewable Energy conference in New Delhi.

 

RE-Invest 2015 is the first Renewable Energy Global Investors Meet & Expo to be organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). Its objective is to showcase the Government of India's commitment to develop at scale renewable energy in India. The ministry’s mandate is to help meet India’s energy goals in a socially, economically and ecologically sustainable manner.

 

RE-Invest will be inaugurated by the Honourable Prime Minister Modi, on February 15 and is expected be attended by over 200 investors, 350 exhibitors and 1000 delegates, both domestic and international.
