TE Connectivity Opens High-Tech Test Competence Center in India to Further Support Automotive Customers and Innovation

• Includes first Computerized Tomography (CT) scanner for metrology in India 

• Strengthens TE’s innovation leadership position in country 

TE Connectivity Ltd. (NYSE: TEL) (TE), a global leader in connectivity and sensor solutions, today announced the opening of its Automotive Test Competence Center in India. The new facility provides smart machines and measurement capabilities to ensure product validation requirements for automotive customers in India, the broader EMEA region, and United States. 

“We are adept at bringing the total value to new product realization for customers in India while supporting the needs of TE customers worldwide,” said Manjunath R.S., Director Engineering, Automotive, TE Connectivity India. “We have more than 200 engineers across India working with automotive customers throughout the design process. The new laboratory enables us to collaborate with customers earlier in the process to support their innovation and TE’s overall growth strategy.” 

The new facility has the same high-tech equipment provided at TE’s Automotive Test Competence Center in Bensheim, Germany and is the second largest TE laboratory in the greater EMEA region. The equipment ensures mechanical, electrical and climatic ingress protection and dimensional measurements of products such as terminals and connectors including sealed connectors and accessories. 

In addition to quickly analyzing components for functionality and identifying any issues early, the facility includes the first Computerized Tomography (CT) scanner for metrology in India and gives TE a leadership position in digital metrology in the country. The support team specializes in test and measurement methodology and has undergone extensive training at TE’s Bensheim site.

Products are tested according to TE or customer specifications as well as industry standards such as LV 214, the United States Council for Automotive Research (USCAR) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
