Toyota Kirloskar Motor Registers 62% Growth in March

Clocks double digit growth in sales for the 5th consecutive month; Registering 10% growth this financial year

Toyota Kirloskar Motor registered a growth of 62% in the month of March. The company sold 13,333 units in March 2015 in the domestic market as compared to 8,206 units in March 2014. The company registered a growth of 10% in FY 2014-15 when compared to FY 2013-14.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor reflected a similar upward surge in total sales with 14,623 units (including exports) in March 2015 as opposed to 9,018 units sold in March 2014. The company exported 1,290 units of Etios series this month.

Adding further, Mr. N Raja, Director and Senior Vice - President, Sales and Marketing said, “Riding on the new launches we continue to register a double digit growth this month as well. With the launch of the New Corolla Altis, Etios , Etios Liva and Etios Cross in 2014 and New Innova and Fortuner in 2015, we saw an increased acceptance from customers which continues to grow month after month. The Corolla Altis, Innova and Fortuner continue to maintain leadership position in their respective segments. The iconic brand Innova completed a successful journey of ten years last month.

Toyota is committed to safety and we are proud of the fact that TKM is the first manufacturer in India to standardize front dual SRS Airbags across all models and in all grades in mass automobile segments. The additional safety and comfort features across our new models has been well received across markets and we attribute this to our valued customers for their continued support and trust in brand Toyota.”

Taking a look at Toyota’s growth trajectory, it started witnessing growth in November last year, registering double digit growth of 19% with sales of 12,175 units in Nov 2014 in the domestic market as compared to 10,208 units in Nov 2013.

In December 2014, it sold 11,740 units in the domestic market as compared to 10,648 in the same month last year, registering a growth of 10 per cent.

 

The first month of this year, in January 2015, Toyota Kirloskar Motor registered a growth of 16% with sales of 12,650 units in Jan 2015 in the domestic market as compared to 10,910 units in Jan 2014.

 

Continuing the trend in February as well, the company sold 11,802 units in the domestic market as compared to 10,100 units in Feb 2014 marking a growth of 17%.

The company witnessed growth in later half of FY 2014-15 with double digit growth of 17% in Oct’14–Mar’15 in comparison to Oct’13-Mar’14, this is contrary to a 2% growth in first half of FY 2014-15 during Apr’14-Sep’14 against Apr’13-Sep’14.
