Virtusa Corporation (NASDAQ GS: VRTU), a global business consulting and IT outsourcing company that combines innovation, technology leadership and industry solutions to transform the customer experience, today announced yet another recognition for its talent management initiatives. The company won the Best College Recruiting Program award at National Talent Management Leadership Awards (NTMLA) at Mumbai on 24th July, 2015. NTMLA is one of key events culminating in the World HRD Congress, the largest and oldest conference for HR professionals from across the globe.

Hiring the best from engineering schools has been an integral part of Virtusa’s talent acquisition strategy. In line with this strategy, Virtusa launched two novel initiatives last year – Pool Campus and Conditional Offer- with the dual objectives of expanding the talent landscape and providing employment opportunities to technologically savvy students with limited communication skills. Our ongoing campus engagement program enables us to bring together engineering graduates from across universities & regions for assessment.Conditional Offer approach allows Virtusa to assess and offer technologically bright students with moderate communication skills and onboard them after they complete enabling certifications like TOEFL.

“We manage a large population of millennial generation employees through up-skilling, re-skilling and cross-skilling, supported by close follow up, and developmental processes and systems aligned with technology support, this award is a great testament to our efforts in this area” said Dr. Murali Padmanabhan, vice president & global head of learning and development, Virtusa Corporation.

“We are very excited about winning this award. We are happy that our efforts to solve talent scarcity have started to yield results and earn recognition in the industry. The GTP program owes much of its success to the support of our academic partners and the senior management at Virtusa,” said Rayaprolu SS Sarma, manager – GTP, Virtusa.
