World Trade Center Signs Agreement with GoI’s NIESBUD

MoU signed to promote and set up development of small businesses

World Trade Center India Services Council (WTCIS) has signed an agreement with National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) for the promotion and development of small business across India. The basic objectives of NIESBUD, which functions under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, are promotion and development of micro, small and medium enterprises including enhancement of their competitiveness through different interventions.

 

World Trade Center through its World Trade Center Services arm, Verbind stimulates trade and investment opportunities in India by serving as an 'international ecosystem' of global connections, iconic properties & trade infrastructure and integrated trade services under the umbrella of a prestigious brand.

 

Under the agreement, WTCIS will assist in NIESBUD in promotion and development of entrepreneurial environment through training, research and consultancy as well as mentor and assist organizations, both Governmental and Non-Governmental in developing and promoting entrepreneurship and self-employment.

 

This agreement is an important in view of our endeavour to expand our services to MSME sector in India. We believe that MSMEs, as complementary to large companies, play a vital role in socio-economic development of the country. Our aim is to ensure they get level-playing field to compete with their larger counterparts in local as well as global markets,” said Ms. Khair Ull Nissa, Director, WTCIS.

 

Ms. Nissa said we shall jointly promote human capital development and train start-ups and entrepreneurs by providing them access to global markets, resources and mentors.

 

Commenting on agreement, Mr. Arun Kumar Jha, Director General, NIESBUD said, “The agreement between NIESBUD and WTCIS shall promote trade in the form of arranging events, holding conferences, seminars, training and provide incubation facilities and various opportunities for global connect with focus on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).”

 

Mr. Jha said the agreement will enable exchange of information on various markets, buyers and sellers for benefit of MSME. “We will facilitate domestic traders and manufacturers exporters to develop into potential exporters by providing them awareness about requirements, information on market demand, and necessary training and hand-holding support. We may also look at potential start-ups to strengthen the export in MSME sector by developing skill and up-skilling both start-ups and existing enterprises,” Mr. Jha added.
