Canterbury was established in 1904 when John Lane, Pringle Walker and Alfred Rudkin began producing woolen garments in Canterbury, New Zealand. Before long, Canterbury earned a reputation for manufacturing tough and durable apparel. The Australian and New Zealand Army even asked Canterbury to make their uniforms during World War I. Many decades later, Canterbury is still making the world's toughest gear. Canterbury has been committed to the game of rugby for over a century and has previously outfitted the New Zealand and Australia rugby teams. It currently sponsors the British and Irish Lions, England and Ireland national rugby teams and number of elite clubs across the globe,while offering gym wear and training apparel for athletes of all levels.
