RBI Governor Visits SBI’s Digital Banking Store in Mumbai

The RBI Governor, Dr. Raghuram Rajan, visited SBI INTOUCH outlet at Phoenix Market City in Mumbai on Thursday afternoon. The digital outlet, India’s first of its kind, offers multiple services like instant account opening, instant issuance of debit card, live interaction with experts, opportunity to buy financial products, secure your dream home under one roof. INTOUCH is part of SBI’s digital banking strategy to build greater connect with the next generation customers.

 

Dr. Rajan was shown the various aspects of the digital outlet; instantaneous bank transactions with Express Banking, interactive applications for financial planning with Smart Table, internet banking kiosks with Online Booth, helping the customer achieve their goals with Dream Zone, live interactions with experts through Expert Pod.

 

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Rajan said,This is a tremendous concept. It’s a nice way to get the power of information to the person who is asking for it.”

 

Ms. Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairman SBI, spoke on the importance of the digital store. “INTOUCH will help us connect with the next generation of customers. With the multitude of services being offered, INTOUCH will help us fulfill our customers’ aspirations.”

 

INTOUCH has met with a positive response from customers. The Bangalore outlet alone generates ~175 walk-ins / day.

 

There are 7 SBI INTOUCH outlets in India across Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi and Ahmedabad. SBI plans to scale up the INTOUCH program over the next few months to cover other centres.
